Throughout history, this notion of a God or higher beings has been present in almost every culture. Through the theological argument between Hume and Paley, although not stated, Hume successfully refutes Paley’s argument. In this essay, I will prove Hume’s argument succeeds Paley’s because Paley commits multiple fallacies.
Hume’s philosophy on religion, more specifically the belief of God is stronger than Paley’s due to the fact that Paley’s argument revolves around a weak analogy.
