The morals of the novels, “Raymond’s Run” and “The All-American Slurp”, relate to what the main character of each story really wants in life because the theme of the story holds the character back from what they desire. The theme of the story “Raymond’s Run” is, the way you act affects what others think of you. The main character, Squeaky, is wanting a real friend, but her attitude and her attachment towards Raymond is stopping her from making one. The theme of “The All-American Slurp” is, differences in culture make it hard to fit in. The main character in “The All-American Slurp” wants to fit in and be like the other families in America, but her culture and the way she acts is different from others.
