Listening to music from the holocaust puts a different perspective on what the times were like during the holocaust. When you read a book, you cannot necessarily tell the tone the author is writing in, however, when listening to a song, you can hear the singers emotions through their voice. In the song “Stand Fast” by Erich Frost and the song “The Soldiers of the Moor” by Johann Esser and Wolfgang Langhoff, you capture a glimpse of the struggles that were faced in the concentration camps. Though both songs are about the terrible conditions and the need for strength to fight, they both also hold a little bit of hope that everything will go back to how it is supposed to be.
