I’m comparing and contrasting Zappos and Trader Joe’s social media channels.

Zappos homepage has a “Connect with Us” header with their social media channels: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, their own blog, and Instagram. Their top three most followed/liked social media channels are Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Their Facebook page has 1,999,074 ‘likes’ and is updated daily. For Veterans Day, they posted a video with disabled veterans sharing their stories and ultimately getting footwear. The video is very catching and highly relevant. Zappos successfully answers questions from (potential) customers on their posts creating a two-way relationship. Some days they post a few times and always maintain a two-way relationship with their followers. …show more content…
Each day they tweet at least twice. They engage in two-way conversations. The tweets are appealing, for example, they have a specific hashtag, #thingsheardatZappos, information about their stores, customer service, and entertaining .gifs and short videos. Their use of hashtags, .gifs, and videos create a dynamic and interesing page that easily attracts attention.

Their Instagram has 50,600 followers. They post at least one picture a day. They were pertinent today with a picture of a vet wearing a pair of their shoes. Their pictures showcase pairs of footwear, models styled with Zappos shoes/accessories, and examples of how to build an outfit. They incorporate relevant hashtags and receive posts from consumers, which they respond to.

Collectively, Zappos has a great online presence in all of its social media channels. I can’t say what they could do better, because honestly, it all looks
