The differents between Zinn and Foner of the Gilded Age is that Foner gives more details on how the railroad began. The important thing to Foner is that the Statue of Liberty is representing freedom. What is important to Zinn is the economic growth. They have different things that go on in the Gilded Age that is important to them and that they are focused on.
Foner explains more about the railroads and how they began. In order for them to build the railroad the way that they wanted to be built is to take land away from the Indians. Most of the builders got killed because the Indians where trying to fight for their land. The owners of the railroad did not pay Indians land or ask for permission they just started building their railroad.
