She talks about that you don’t need to put anything on the application. Whatever notes or whatever you need to put on the application you need to put on onto Sirsi in the extended part under notes. No notes on the paper applications, not worth putting any extra notes on the paper application. There is no reason for anyone to write stored or any other notes on the registration form staff need only to insure form is completed with the requested info and signed by the customer and make sure there is only one account and data entry completed and new entry updated. ...Problem Statement Draft Introduction The main focus and concern of this report will be analysis of a designer’s portfolio and appliance of other fashion design related techniques and methods learned through the four semesters at VIA Design, Herning. Background This report is focusing on the idea of developing a collection for a world famous fashion designer-Bora Aksu. He is representing Turkey as an origin country and he is currently based in London, England. Purpose The purpose of this project is to present an overview of my skills and knowledge and apply them in the creative and technical part of the design and production process during the creation of a collection for the above mentioned designer. Problem statement Having in mind the strong appearance of Bora Aksu’s inspiration and theme in his collections, I have come up with the main question for this project: What would be the best next strong theme for the upcoming Autumn/Winter 2016 collection for Bora Aksu? Taking into consideration all of the information and analysis needed to answer the main question and end up with a solution of the problem stated above, the following sub-questions will be answered in the upcoming report as well: 1 .What is Bora Aksu’s background regarding the designer and the label he created? 2. What is Bora Aksu’s design DNA? 3. What are the themes and inspirations used by Bora Aksu in the development of his collections? 4. What techniques could be used to develop the final...

... There are two short stories which, at first glance, seem to be unrelated in terms of the authors’ use of diction. The first being ‘A Pair of Silk Stockings’ and the second being ‘Things that Fly. When one first looks at these two books, they would seem to be as different as two stories can get; however, upon further examination, many similarities between the two can also be found. Theses similarities and differences influence and develop the tone of each story. Three key elements link Kate Chopin’s ‘A Pair of Silk Stockings’ and Douglas Coupland's ‘Things That Fly’: diction, connotation, and sentence structure. In Chopins Short story, the diction of the story has a high register. The high register reflects Mrs. Sommers desire to return to a past of fortune and high class living that she can no longer have. The formal diction helps to influence the dreamy, distant tone of the story, “She seemed for the time to be taking a rest from that laborious and fatiguing function and to have abandoned herself to some mechanical impulse that directed her actions and freed her of responsibility.” (Chopin, 88). The use of high register word choice, simple descriptions of Mrs. Sommer’s actions, and limited descriptions of her motives help add to a distant and dreamy tone. In Contrast, Coupland's short story has casual word choice throughout the story and gives it a low register. The low register sets a more relaxed, detached, and conversational tone of ‘Things that Fly’, “Today went like...

...Personal Responsibility Essay Responsibility is the action taken to uphold you on a personal level to let yourself become a better person. Being responsible especially on a personal level is not an easy task as it also deals with ethics, morals and being dependable and the sort in a sense that is a responsibility in its self. My number one responsibility is being responsible for my actions and suffering the consequences if I do something wrong. In the same sense if I do what’s right I will reap the rewards so to say. Morals are normally taught in childhood or in a church setting. Basically it’s like the Bible says, “Whatsoever a man soweth that shall he also reap.” (KJV). In basic terms it is saying if you do good you will get good rewards; If you do bad works you will get bad things in return that’s why being responsible is so important. People need to be able to depend on you but if you’re not a very mature responsible person than whom are people going to trust. “Personal responsibility is the willingness to both accept the importance of standards that society establishes for individual behavior and to make strenuous personal efforts to live by those standards. But personal responsibility also means that when individuals fail to meet expected standards, they do not look around for some factor outside themselves to blame. The demise of personal responsibility occurs when individuals blame their family, their peers, their economic circumstances, or their society for...

...Listening to Ellis story honestly broke my heart. I don’t come from a broken home but it truly breaks my heart when people have to deal with these situations on their own. It makes me feel happy that Ellis has faith and courage to leave that all behind and stand stronger than ever. While I was watching him sign those tragic events in class I couldn’t help but tear up. I don’t think I would ever be able to handle those events in my life. Losing loved ones is already a tough situation to deal with, but watching them die and not being able to call for help is just really sad. It’s a shame that throughout his childhood he didn’t have his parents for moral support and had to put up with his aunt on his own. I have difficulties of my own with my family but they don’t compare to what Ellis has experienced and it makes me feel like a brat because I have everything I could possibly need and I still find myself complaining and arguing with my parents. Sometimes we take the smallest of things for granted. Many of us have all these blessings while others are wishing for them. I am guilty of taking things for granted. Ellis stories made me feel very grateful for the life I live. What I learned from Ellis stories is that even though life may suck at the moment it is only temporary, things will turn around for the better. His life did turn around for the better; he moved away from all the craziness and is attending school. He just wants to help people who are having the struggles he had...

...Reaction Paper on “Who Moved My Cheese?” The story “Who Moved My Cheese?” demonstrates that we should adapt change our lives whether we want it or not, and what is important is how we manage it. This is a story of two mice and two little people that live in and around a maze looking for cheese. The cheese is a symbol for what they want in life, whether it is a relationship, a job, or health. The maze symbolizes your life and where you look for what you want, whether it is in your place of work or family. Using two mice and two little people, the story illustrates that it is how we handle change that will decide how happy we are. It allows us to see the choices and challenges we face daily from a different perception. When we are not so close to the situation, we can see opportunities to exercise faith or fear, to grow or be contented. The story tells an amazing way on how to deal with change in our work and even in our life. It helps us to face our fear and be strong to face the reality of change. But most of us are afraid of changes because it is meant to bring something different. Changes can be a blessing or a curse, depending on what are your perceptions. If we view change as a positive outcome it helps us to move on and forget the past easily, as “Haw” did in the story. On the other hand if we view change as a negative outcome, it destroy us and get trap on the past just like “Hem”. I prefer to be just like Haw, a person who learn from his mistakes, accept, moved on and...

...By Nicole Smartt for Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC) Published October 17, 2014 I recently turned 29. Thinking about the whole growing older thing more deeply made me think about which career goals I’ve achieved already and why, so I wanted to share some of the things I think have had direct impact on my success so far – as well as some philosophies I think will guide many of us into the future (and into our thirties!). 1. Hard work beats traditional education. I don’t mean to suggest that there’s no point in a traditional education, but rather that if you have not had a formal education, hard work still pays off. Don’t limit your options based on schooling alone – if you want it, fight for it. 2. No job is too insignificant. From the start of my career, I wanted to learn every set of skills I could. Even though I didn’t get paid for the tasks I took on that fell outside my job description, I advanced more quickly as a result. 3. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Things won’t always work out the way you expect, but freaking out won’t help. Try to take a measured look at an unexpected situation and say to yourself, “Well, here we are. Now what?” and make the best of what you’ve got. 4. It’s lonely at the top. Sounds clichéd, I know. But it’s true: the harder you work toward career goals, the less time you may have for keeping up with friends and making yourself available for short-notice plans. It can be more difficult if your peers begin to feel challenged by or jealous...

...Introduction to Psychological Testing Lisa Bueno University of Phoenix PSY/475 Psychological Testing and Measurements Pamela Stewart, M.S. February 8, 2012 Introduction to Psychological Testing Define “Test” The word test as defined by the Oxford English Dictionary is, “a cup used for smelting gold or silver ore” (Hogan, 2007, p. 38). Imagining what testing meant for Chaucer in the mid 1300s could be associated with an image of pure data, (perhaps gold or silver) captured and additional data was irrelevant. The Standards for Educational and Psychological Tests defines test as, “An evaluative device or procedure in which a sample of an examinee’s behavior in a specified domain is obtained and subsequently evaluated and scored using a standardized process” (Hogan, 2007, p. 38). In addition, Anastasi and Cronbach define test as “an objective and standardized measure of a sample behavior” and “there is no fully satisfactory definition” respectively (Hogan, 2007, p. 39). Essentially, Hogan (2007) gathered the test definitions and identified six critical elements: device or procedure, gather information, behavior or cognitive processes, sample, standardized and quantified. “A test is a standardized process or device that yields information about a sample or behavior or cognitive processes in a quantified manner” (Hogan, 2007, p. 41). However concise this definition may seem, in order to further understand psychological testing one must uncover the basics, identify...

...Chapter–One Introduction 1.1Background of the Study/ Introduction: Today's work environment requires employees to be skilled in performing complex tasks in an efficient, cost-effective, and safe manner. Training is needed when employees are not performing up to a certain standard or at an expected level of performance. The difference between actual the actual level of job performance and the expected level of job performance indicates a need for training. A training analysis is conducted ultimately to identify what areas of knowledge or behaviors that training needs to accomplish with learners. The analysis considers what results the organization needs from the learner, what knowledge and skills the learner presently has and usually concludes with identifying what knowledge and skills the learner must gain. Usually this phase also includes identifying when training should occur and who should attend as learners. Ideally, criteria are established for the final evaluation of training to conclude if training goals were met or not. Depending on the resources and needs of the organization, a training analysis can range from a very detailed inventory of skills to a general review of performance results. The more complete the training analysis, the more likely that the employee's training will ultimately contribute results to the organization. This report is a Project Report prepared as a requirement for the conclusion of the MBA Program. As per requirement of...
