...College Prepared by: Student Name I. Physical Network Design Network Topology Business Needs UOE is an institution that it is growing globally and diversifies its spears of academic excellence and markets itself. For the institution to achieve its goals and mission, use of computer systems and internet facilities installation should be prioritized. Today the world has become a global village and thus the need to put the infrastructure in place is essential. The institution looked at the need and considered it to be the priority. The organizations’ network has different users each with different privileges. The users are the administration, the staff and the students. My aim is to come up with an efficient, modular, resilient, structured and manageable network upon implementation with good structural and engineering principles. To meet the requirements of the organization, I propose a hierarchical network design needs to be implemented. This is because this design allows the use of the other topologies at different levels, growth and robustness. Hierarchical network design A hierarchical network is also called network backbone. The hierarchical system is divided into three tiers, namely core, distribution and access level, with the privileges reducing downwards. This design is most appropriate for the organization since it allows for network administrators to optimize and specify the correct hardware and software for the entire network that is changing from one level to another...

...Network Design for A local Business Name: Course: Instructor: Institution: Date of Submission: Network Design for A local Business The world is moving towards technology, therefore, each and every business whether local or international need to have a well equipped and reliable network. Network design simply ensures that a new technological service satisfy the various needs of the operators and also the subscribers. A network design involves connections of different devices with some end systems, for example, computers or mobile phones and servers that can link to each other well (Juan, 2004). However for our case various locations or departments in our local business need to relate or communicate to each other to provide smooth flow of information. When designing a network for a company we require equipment such as the physical components. These components are the hard drive devices, and they form a computer network through interconnection. Therefore, we shall vary the number and size of these physical components to the size of the network that the business requires. However, our local business has little number of employees of approximately 50 people. In computer network design there are mainly four major physical components. These components have been placed in categories that include but not limited to personal computers (PCs), routers, switches and lastly the interconnections. However, to implement this network design, the following equipment are...

...Network Design Proposal Prepared for: University of Maryland University College Prepared by: I. Physical Network Design A. Network Topology Business Needs Since 1947, UMUC has been providing quality education to the American as well as international students. UMUC is always developing new ideas and ventures to enhance the quality of the education that it’s students receive. In an effort to expand it’s academic and cultural knowledge to the growing student population UMUC has recently purchased an building and is moving forward with the plan to utilize it as a computer education and lab facility. The building is named as “ Library and Communication Center”. Establishment of this facility will provide the current and future students and faculty members to gain and impart computer knowledge in an environment that is technologically proficient in meeting the demands of the ever-increasing computer skills. The purpose of this document is to identify the requirements, develop an overall design and specifications for the Library and Communication Center to be completely functional. Proposed Topology Select one or more topologies to use for this design. This section should be used to provide details of the selected infrastructure or equipment. Include the model, manufacturer, features, and cost. In order to develop a good network layout plan, we have to first understand the layout of the building. ...LAN Design The network design for Millbrook Commons Community (MCC) contains two smaller LANs that are a part of one large network called a metropolitan area network (MAN). They will be divided into the residential LAN and the Main Complex LAN. These two LANs will then be divided even further into virtual private networks (VPNs). This is known as a hierarchical design. Due to geographical restrictions it is not possible for the LANs to physically connect to each other (using cables) so they will communicate via microwave using WiMax technology. Luckily, both LANs that are to be installed are within sight of each other. Otherwise, we would have to seek alternate means. The WAN section explains the technologies that will be used in further detail. There will also be smaller networks that are centralized around people rather than physical locations. These even smaller networks are called Personal Area Networks (PAN). The PANs will also be able to connect to the larger networks wirelessly. This design will provide MCC with the coverage and service needed to give their residents the best quality of life possible. This hierarchical design is flexible and manageable so that if changes are necessary in the future, they can be accommodated without expensive upgrades. If additions are made to the facilities in the future, adding network nodes is easy and simple. Physical layout The first MCC LAN we will discuss is the residential LAN; there will be two LANs total. The topology...

...Abstract AAS-Design AAS-Design is a North American fashion label specializing in luxury goods for men and women (ready-to-wear, leather accessories, shoes, luggage and hats), founded in 1990 by Abel, Angus and Satish in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Fulana inherited the company in 1995 by which time sales were up to U.S. $450,000. With John alongside her as business manager, Fulana was allowed time to implement her creativity onto design. Initial success was not instant, as they were hard to sell due to the lack of advertising and high-prices, but later become her first commercial hit. Description of technology and Communications Need: IT Department The IT Department is in the third floor of corporate building. From this place the IT department offer supports to the entire corporate building and the rest of the store in U.S. The implementation of news technology indicates the degree of business transformation varies significantly between firms. Improving processes usually involves implementing systems and process management across business function boundaries rather than within functions. IT infrastructure investments can be a constraint where systems are not compatible, or where inconsistent data models have been used in different parts of the business. (Broadbent, M., Weill, P., Clair, Don St, 1999) As companies grow, their IT Infrastructure evolves, requiring additional capacity and process efficiencies. The IT infrastructure required to support a company's operations...

...detailed insight into the job duties and responsibilities of a network administrator. At an early age I developed a strong interest in computers and technology. Always around my oldest brother as he plays his PC games and every time the internet would go out or if his computer was malfunctioning internally I was always amazed watching as he fixed it. So therefore, in high school I began taking classes to assist me in a computer career. At first I didn’t know which form of technology I wished to pursue until I took a Cisco networking class. All the man networks and groups connecting together, it filled me up with joy just partaking in this kind of knowledge. It was until then I discovered that I wanted to be a network administrator. I will then proceed to discuss the fundamentals of a network administrator. More specifically I will discuss the Job responsibilities, salary and other career areas that may be pursued in addition to that of a network administrator. While reading the information presented, one will be able to summarize the benefits of being a network administrator, as well as gain the insight to the duties and responsibilities of such. The duties of a Network and computer systems administrator determine what an organization needs in a network and computer system before it is set up. Then install all network hardware and software and make needed upgrades and repairs. They also maintain network and computer system security and insure that all systems are operating correctly...

...Name Instructor Class Date Network Design Paper In this network design work, the aspect of sub-netting would be a significant consideration during g the design process in order to ensure that the entire IP network is subdivided in a logically visible manner. In such a design with 156 computers, it would be advisable to address all of these computers with some common and identical most significant bit group within the assigned IP address. This would effectively assist in the division of two fields that could include the routing or network prefix, as well as the rest of the field host identifier. The design has two server rooms. The routing prefix could be located within the server room in the first floor, while the rest of the host identifier could be fixed within the second floor server room. The design would thereby require some routers to enhance effective traffic between the various sub-networks that could be allocated for individual floors (McCabe, 102-104). Since the population is not considred to be extremely large, it is recommended that the institution should consider designing an IPv4 layout. This has a limited number of IP addresses as compared to the IPv6, but would still be sufficient even for future expansion of say the offices and the computer labs in the future. The assigned IP address to each of the devices within the networks would be used as a unique for of identifier to all of these devices. This will make the devices to become controllable and be...

...Integrative Network Design Project, Part 1 NTC/362 September 9, 2013 Integrative Network Design Project, Part 1 Introduction Kudler Fine Foods is known for the retail Gourmet Foods. They have three locations in San Diego, CA. Those Locations are the La Jolla, Del Mar, and Encinitas. Kudler Fine Foods was first founded by Kathy Kudler in 1998. Characteristics and Components When looking at possible system failure we need to take into account Kudler’s current system. Kudler’s Fine Foods 3 offices have almost identical setups, Novel 4.11 for their servers, along with POS systems and their office site connectivity. They all use the same bus network topology for connection for their onsite connectivity. By using this computers connects to a central bus that runs along the entire network and the information is then passed throughout the entire network. Looking at each location their local area connection uses dial up modems which all of their computers connect to a database system that is housed within the company. Current Network Topology Using outdated equipment does have some several drawbacks. The company’s network also hosts many computers all of which runs on windows 98 as their operating systems. Each of the computers host in this network boasts a 56k modem that is only capable of 56k speeds to access out of the company’s network. With this kind of modem it does require an additional phone lines and with that means that the system is not always connected to the...

And it defines the exchanges between network interfaces connected to an Ethernet media segment in order to map an IP address to a link layer address on demand(Linux, 2011). Next, I am to ping www.aiuonline.com here are the results: Now I will ping www.mazda.co.jp and here are the results: The first time I ping the aiuonline website I made a mistake so now I will ping it again with better results: Now I will ping both websites again to check their times and compare the times: From what I am viewing on the command prompt screen the times are different from one another from the mazda web address there was a 25% loss compared to aiuonline website there was no loss. The Aiuonline website was faster in milliseconds then the mazda website. Now I will ping the www.tourism.sa.gov.au website: As you can see it is still in request timeout, so that means it is still a very busy website. I will now use the tracert www.go-ogle.com and here are the results: I am not good with explaining computer terms dealing with what path my packet took to reach its destination but, I’ll try. It looks to me it started from ip address 192.168.2.1, then it connected to cpe-76-187-96-1.tx.res.rr.com. It finally made its connection after 14 hops. I still have so much to learn in terms of computer programmer lingo. Now...
