This paper will discuss how the plans for Just Kids Adventure land was thought of and what it means to the owner as well as how it will affect the children their peers and also their families and the community as a whole. . According to the World Health Organization, a disability is…“any restriction or lack (resulting from any impairment) of ability to perform an activity in the manner or within the range considered normal for a human being.”(WHO.com) People with disabilities are discriminated at although some may not be intentional needless to say a disabled person just wants to be accepted for who they are. The propose business deals with the children who are disabled who have to sit and watch their friends pay on the playgrounds or even at the local arcades. “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” (www.archives.gov) The right to play is recognized as a human right in UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Just Kids adventure land is a place where children with and without disabilities can interact with children of the own age and with their siblings. Just Kids is a fully equipped play center with adaptions made to the equipment so that children with disabilities can also participate. An example is that of a ball pit area. There is a lift that will hold a harness that is put on the child that when used with the lift can transport that child from the wheelchair into the ball bit and to freedom from the constraints of their his or her wheelchair for a while. The outdoor portion of the adventure land is the play zone. This area has no boundaries that separate the things that a child with disabilities can do compared to what a child without disabilities can do. The playground will be made with no steps so that children in wheel chairs can access it. Swings every child loves to swing.to feel the breeze in your face as you move in the swing. There are swings that come to a platform so that the child can be transferred to the specially made swings that are like a chair to support the child.
Just Kids mission statement is that every child that comes into Just Kids adventure land are treated like the way that they should be and that is as children. Children regardless of their abilities deserve to be able to play with their friends and learn from one another through play. There are no boundaries at Just Kids children with disabilities as well as those without disabilities will play side by side inside and outside. Just Kids is the place where all children will be able to relax have fun and be just kids!!! Bringing smiles to faces of children one smile at a time!!!

Children learn through examples and if they are taught to treat people who are different from themselves they may be scared or afraid of that child or adult. At Just Kids, along with the children and their parents interacting with other children and parents Just kids is showing the world just because someone does something differently does not mean that they cannot do it. Disabilities come in various ways. There are the obvious disabilities such as children in wheelchairs, and it has broken my heart over the years to see a family with other children go to the park and the child in the wheel chair cannot participate with their brothers or sisters and parents take turns. Going out to have fun should involve the entire family together. There are the less obvious disabilities such as autism. Today people still have reservations about integration because they feel mainstream organizations may not be able to meet all the disabled child’s needs. However, most people realize that people with a disability have an equal right to participate in all aspects of life. They understand that all children irrespective of their ability should grow up to see themselves positively and to feel valued members of their community. No child should feel abnormal or different.” My nephew David is autistic. To people he may look like the average eight year old boy, he can run and play and interact fairly well with his friends and family. Then when you get closer to him you see that he is different, he does things differently. He loves to go to the park. When he wants to go to the park and asks please. People stare at him because he constantly goes and says hello. He tries to play with other children and then they do not realize that he does not have the patience to wait to count to ten so they will not let them play. all children should be able to play sports and thanks to the wonderful organization that my nephews parents have found the Challenger sports league is a group of volunteers started by a man whose two young sons wanted to play baseball and could not play on a regular team , So that summer the Western New York Challenge League was founded. (WNYChallengeleague.com) Through this organization I have been able to learn so much and watch children having fun. My nephew loves baseball; I have had the honor and privilege of watching my nephew David, go from hitting a baseball off a tee to hitting the ball pitched to him. The ball does not need to be hit 50 feet or be a home run. A ball that goes a foot is a homerun in all of our eyes. The best part is that there are no outs or winners or losers. Everyone is a winner!! Just Kids wants those children to have that same feeling of being able to play and have fun.

The declaration of independence has the quote in it that says “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” This also applies to children. The definition of life is easy those are the things that a person does from the moment of their birth until the time of their death. Happiness is a mental state of well-being characterized by positive emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy.
Liberty has the following definitions. The positive enjoyment of various social, political, or economic rights and privileges the power of choice the quality or state of being free: the power to do as one pleases and the freedom from physical restraint
Using the quote from the declaration of independence in the life of a disabled child or adult. These people are entitled to life, to be able to pursue their dreams , live their lives to the fullest, Liberty to be able to make choices , look I can take my wheelchair on the playground and play with my brother I do not have to sit on the sidelines and watch everyone play and have fun. Happiness is looking at that child’s face and seeing their smile and then looking at their parent and seeing the tears of joys running down their faces. Who could ask for more?
Evaluate how the organization addresses customer needs and critique how they achieve competitive advantage. Just Kids has looked at the available activities and places that families with disabled children are able to visit. A questionnaire was given to parents of disabled children at through the challenger league as well as the gifted and graceful dancing program offered through a local dance studio. Teachers who deal with disabled children were asked what a play center like this would mean to the children and the community. In the area where this building is being proposed there are no play centers that are offering anything like this. People will ask is it safe? The answer will be absolutely yes. By following any state and federal guidelines as well as recommendations from manufacturers as well as the parents . By working closely with the trained staff that deals with children with disabilities , the management when building the building and the playground will take these mateers into consideration. All children will be taken into consideration the safety of the children comes first and upmost in the minds of the staff and management of Just Kids These children are our most precious resource and our future.
