Clean India - Swachch Bharath
The father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi had said that, “Sanitation is more important than Independence” during his time before the independence of India. He was well aware of the bad and unclean situation of the India. He had emphasised the people of India a lot about the cleanliness and sanitation as well as its implementation in the daily lives. However, it was not so effective and failed because of the incomplete participation of people. After many years of independence of India, a most effective campaign of cleanliness is launched to call people for their active participation and complete the mission of cleanliness.
The President of India, Pranab Mukherjee has said in June 2014 while addressing the Parliament that, “For ensuring hygiene, waste management and sanitation across the nation a Swachh Bharat Mission will be launched. This will be our tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary to be celebrated in the year 2019”. In order to fulfil the vision of Mahatma Gandhi and make India an ideal country all over the world, the Prime Minister of India has initiated a campaign called Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi (2nd of October 2014). This campaign has the target of completion of mission till 2019 means 150th birthday anniversary of the Mahatma Gandhi.
Through this campaign the government of India would solve the sanitation problems by enhancing the waste management techniques. Clean India movement is completely associated with the economic strength of the country. The birth date of the Mahatma Gandhi is targeted in both, the launch and completion of the mission. The basic goals behind launching the Swachh Bharat Mission are to make the country full of sanitation facilities as well as eliminate all the unhealthy practices of people in daily routines. ...within, some locked away to never be revisited while others await their release and freedom to be expressed. Man’s true voice, being one of the latter, bursts to be heard, screaming, shouting, pounding, just to be given one chance to prove itself and come to the world’s defense. But without confidence and an empowering spirit, this voice cannot be unlocked from man’s guarded heart and released to be heard by all. Without confidence, man will forever remain encased in his shell, bowing down to ignorance and relenting to injustice as he is forced to weed the unfortunate gardens of conformity. Just close your eyes and think. Think of all that you’ve seen go wrong in this world, all that has plagued your heart with dread and dismay, all that has got you thinking, dreaming, of one day turning a new leaf in a land where the trees are bare, mumbling the solemnest of hymns and withering away into the pits of darkness. We’ve all seen such a dreadful scenario, or at least heard of one. But what do we do about it? Do we let bygones be bygones? Or do we step out of the norm as fierce non-conformists, and work towards creating change in a world where most individuals are bystanders, devoid of confidence and strength to take action. We must choose between self and society. Let us consider the latter, the network that basically lays out the guidelines for living, attempting to rule our way of life, and formulate our way of thinking. But why must we assume that we as individuals are not as...

Confidence

...Confidence is a key ingredient for a successful social life. I used to believe that the right amount of resources alone is enough to make a successful life. However how we utilize our resources requires confidence in ourselves and it can be the difference between a happy life and an irritated life. Being a shy person does not always attract a lot of attention and being left alone is not something most teenagers look forward to. I was not very confident in my school years and it didn’t help with my public self-presentation fright. My confidence never went up to achieve a popular social life. I decided to learn how to be confident after I became aware of the absence of social circle I saw around other kids my age. My mother enrolled me for a speech competition against my will. I was terrified with the idea of speaking in front of hundreds of other people. My father helped me write my speech. Ironically I was going to talk about confidence building. When the date of speech came nearer I panicked and kept forgetting my lines. My teacher guided me to practice before a mirror, it helped but not enough to calm my nerves. After days of practicing before my parents and the mirror I was still not ready. My thoughts were focused upon how my voice would tremble and I would lose feeling in my legs. It was not till I was on stage and I started speaking that I paid attention to what I was saying. I had given the preparation my best effort and if my voice is going to tremble it did not matter...

Confidence

...When I was in high school I weighed an average of 144 pounds and wore a size 7 or 9 jean. I had some “skin rolls” or that extra stomach fat most adults talk about as being “unacceptable”. At the time I didn’t think much of it until one day I heard the words that would change my innocent image of myself into one that I saw as horrid and imperfect. The words that came out of my own mothers mouth, “Mira esto que tienes aqui, necesitas perder de peso Kendra no te miras bien.” Whats those words meant, for those who don’t know Spanish, is, “Look at this you have here, you need to lose weight Kendra, you don’t look good.” My own mother was judging me. I was never the heaviest in my family. My brother, who was 15 at the time, weighed over 250 pounds; my father, 46, weighed about 210; my older sister, 20, weighed about 190. So you see, I wasn’t really overweight, just had body fat. Yet to my mother it was just, fat. As you know, or should know, many teens wake up and the first thing they think of is, “Oh my God, I can’t leave this room looking like this!” Self image is important to us, or so that’s what society wants us to think. We must always look our best. Well in my case I also thought this way, waking up extra early to pick out my outfit (somehow making different varieties of a blue and khaki pant with white shirt; our school dress code). Then of course my hair, it had to be extra perfect. I’d flat iron it for about twenty minutes max until I thought it was perfect, then all the...

Confidence

...Confidence Confidence is a condition of the mind, not an instinctive trait. Confidence is a feeling that makes you think that you are capable of doing something with ease and calmness. Self confidence is something that helps lead to accomplishments. It is the first step to achievement and success. Even if you have a lot of abilities and a lot of knowledge, if you do not have self-confidence you cannot be a success. But, on the contrary, even if you have only average abilities and knowledge, if you have an unfailingly true self-confidence, chances are that you will achieve what you want to. Sometimes a lack of self-confidence stems merely from a lack of experience. For example you may not feel so confident about taking the SAT test or acting in a stage play if you have never done it before. These feelings will change as you grow and experience more things in your life. Sometimes, however, a lack of self-confidence can stem from feelings of insecurity. Sometimes we have bad feelings about ourselves and we bury them deep inside. When we do this, we tend not to assert ourselves and take chances because we fear our "secrets" will be revealed. If your lack of self-confidence stems from bad feelings you harbor about yourself, you are also experiencing something perfectly normal and common. But it is a normal feeling that you can and should change. Those who are low in self confidence doubt their ability. Confidence plays a very important role in an individuals success be it...

Confidence

...Things I Need To Work On and Things That I Am Confidence In There are many personal motivations that I need to work on to be honest, but the two main ones are my confidence and managing my time. Sometimes I feel like I have no confidence in myself in whatever I’m doing so I tend to give up easily, not because I want to but the faith I have in myself is low so I can’t get the job done. To me people have more confidence in me which I find to be bad because I’m supposed to have confidence in myself not people having more confidence than me in myself, and as of right now I’m working on building that self-confidence for myself because it will make me a better person. I don’t managing my time wisely which is my biggest down fall and I think it will hurt me later on in life. I tend to do things that are fun whenever I got homework to do or when I have something important that has to be done which cause me to have no self-management at all over my time, also I don’t take responsibility for own behavior or well-being. This is because if you have an attitude towards me instead of me walking away I will have one with you too and that will just take up my time when I can be doing something productive with my time like reading a book or doing homework. I also look out for other instead of looking out for me which is kind of bad because I’m supposed to look out for me first before I look out for anybody else well-being. I have some areas that I am confident in like for example being...

Confidence

...Confidence is the Key to Success Confidence. Some people are born with it, some have to work for it, and others do not know how to obtain it. It is something either one has or does not, but can always be accomplished over time. The question that many want answered it “what can I do to gain confidence?” I have learned that confidence is hard to achieve, but with friends, trust, and time it can be reached. The denotation of confidence is the “belief in oneself and one’s powers or abilities.” Everybody is lacking confidence in something; not everyone is perfect. Whether it be giving a speech in front of the class, competing in a large competition, or accepting one’s appearance, people lack the confidence needed to enjoy life. Helen Keller said, “Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.” This quote is absolutely true because if one does not have confidence they can never achieve or go beyond what they want to do. Recently, I have struggled with confidence in one of the most important aspects of my life: volleyball. With schoolwork, I feel completely confident in my work, but with volleyball it is a different story. Lately, I have been displeased and uncomfortable with my performance, instead of the ease that I used to play with. After every mistake, I would get down on myself and not shake it off, like one should. It has been hard for me to find out how gain and reach confidence. Through several talks from coaches...

When you have low self-confidence it is harder for you to make decisions because you have a lack of trust in yourself. The lack of trust in yourself can lead to failures or inability to achieve success. When we have self-confidence we feel reassured that we are making the right decisions. When you increase your level of confidence you tend to increase your ability to succeed because you are more likely to try something then with low self-confidence. Also people with low self-confidence statistically have been shown to handle situations in a more positive way. Self-confidence has been strongly correlated with the ability to be happy. This is because having self-confidence means that you feel you are capable of doing great things and capable of using your judgment. The ability to build self-confidence can lead to you being happier but also being less anxious about situations. The following are steps to building self confidence. When you accomplish self confidence you believe in your ability to achieve goals and accept who you are. Prepare for the journey Surround yourself with positive influences such as friends and family. ...Your name Your instructor’s name Course Date Developing Self-Confidence The difference between feeling petrified out of your wits and feeling irresistible describes what self-confidence is. According to William (37), one way of being happy and living a better life is increasing our self-confidence. Since developing self-confidence is not an instantaneous event, there are several steps one needs to take before he/she is able to fully develop their self confidence. This paper therefore looks at these steps and their relevance in the process of developing self-confidence. Ganesan, (9), states that the first thing one should do is to recognize his/her insecurities. Here, one should identify anything that makes them feel less important or inferior. For instance, if it is unmanageable, a person should be able to know that it is the main cause of their feeling of inadequacy. After identifying and pointing out their insecurities, one should wear them out their sleeves. According to Ganesan (14), one should focus on the problem and realize that they need to resolve it before they can move on with their life. Therefore, it is essential for one to talk about it with loved ones and friends. Additionally, since in most cases it is almost impossible to simply get rid of the issue that kills a person’s self-confidence, it is essential that they learn to accept them without inevitably thinking of them as bad. Moreover, one should always remember that nobody is perfect. Care to note that, life...

...great rule to follow is “spend twice as much, buy half as much”. Rather than buying a bunch of cheap clothes, buy half as many select, high quality items. In long run this decreases spending because expensive clothes wear out less easily and stay in style longer than cheap clothes. Buying less also helps reduce the confusion in your closet. Lack Of Knowledge And Confidence In Into The Wild

However, in these three stories I’ve read, it shows how dangerous knowledge and confidence can be in any situation. So, what was the big issue in these stories, was it their decisions of how to do stuff without being sure of it. First, let's look at Into the Wild and how knowledge and confidence take place in this story. Chris Mccandless knowledge in the story was that Chris pursuit of individual happiness while not listening what others have to say and he had the ability to be comfortable in solitude and independence. The Journey to Finding Confidence

...The Journey to Finding Confidence The walk home from school during my elementary years was something I loved. Not only did I look forward to it because it meant that school was over for the day, I also looked forward to it because it was one of the few times I had to myself. Amidst the chaos of little kids laughing, screaming, and racing each other home, I would tune out the noise and just think. Eventually I would make it home; my time alone would expire, and I would find myself looking forward to tomorrow’s walk home from school. However, one day the walk home was anything but pleasant. As I was passing the open fields of the horse stables, I heard a voice from behind sing, “Fatty, fatty, you’re a fatty!” Furious as ever, I quickly turned around and told the kid to stop. Once again he chanted, “Fatty, fatty, you’re a fatty!” In my final attempt to stop this kid from bullying me I said, “Say it again and see what happens!” Unfortunately, this backfired and the kid again repeated these words. With no real defense, I was forced to run home and bawl my eyes out. Bell Hooks wrote in Talking Back, “Moving from silence into speech is for the oppressed, the colonized, the exploited, and those who stand and struggle side by side a gesture of defiance that heals, that makes new life and new growth possible. Build Self Confidence

...How to Build Self Confidence Recognize your insecurities. What does that voice in the back of your mind say? What makes you uncomfortable or ashamed of yourself? This could be anything from acne, to regrets, friends at school or a past traumatic or negative experience. Whatever is making you feel unworthy, ashamed, or inferior, identify it, give it a name, and write it down. You can also tear these written pieces to start feeling positive on those points. Bounce back from your mistakes. Remember that no one is perfect. Even the most confident people have insecurities. At some point in any of our lives, we may feel we lack something. That is reality. Learn that life is full of bumps down the road. And that often these insecure feelings come and go, depending on where we are, who we are with, the mood we are in, how we are feeling. In other words, they are not constant. Identify your successes. Everyone is good at something, so discover the things at which you excel, then focus on your talents. Give yourself permission to take pride in them. Give yourself credit for your successes. Inferiority is a state of mind in which you've declared yourself a victim. Do not allow yourself to be victimized. Express yourself, whether it is through art, music, writing, etc. Find something you enjoy. Everyone is born with talents and strengths. Be Positive, even if you don't feel the same way. Avoid self-pity, or the pity and sympathy of others. Never allow others to make you feel inferior--they...

Definition Essay: The Importance Of Confidence In Football

...My confidence was destroyed by the word itself; confidence. My sophomore year of high school I didn’t make the varsity volleyball team because “I didn’t have confidence”. The head coach was having a conversation with me at the beginning of the season when she was deciding who would be on what team. She told me I just didn’t have the confidence to play on the varsity court. She wanted to see me to have the same confidence in volleyball that I had when playing basketball. I remember feeling confused and asking myself questions I couldn’t answer at that moment. Did I really show no confidence when playing volleyball? How can you even show and see confidence on and even off the court? What does having confidence really mean? Ever since this occurrence with the word confidence, I have never been able to pinpoint what it really means and the power that it can have. Confidence can be defined as “a feeling of self-assurance arising from one’s appreciation of one’s own abilities or qualities”(Dictionary). Confidence can mean several things but in this instance with my personal encounter this is the definition that will help me the most and broaden the horizons of the word. The word confident can also be related to the words certainty, courage, determination and morale(Thesaurus). All of these words,...

Consumer Confidence

...Lena Grullon Macroeconomic Paper 5/1/2013 Consumer Confidence Bloomberg Economic Calendar On 4/30/2013 at 10:00 AM, the Bloomberg Economic Calendar released the Consumer Confidence Index. The Conference Board “compiles a survey of consumer attitudes on the economy” and includes a survey of three thousand households across the country each month. Consumer confidence focuses on the household sector’s general perception of the economy. Consumer confidence “affects consumer spending decisions such that decreases in confidence might make consumers restrain their spending, endangering the recovery from a recession or helping on to occur (Farnham 319).” The confidence level of households affects the economy because the more confident a consumer is, the more likely they are to spend money. If households are not feeling confident about the economy, the consumer is more likely to save money and decrease consumption. According to this survey, Consumer Confidence level has risen from 59.7 to 68.1. This gain is said to be due to recovery expectations. An increase in consumer confidence causes an increase in the aggregate demand curves which is a shift to the right. Although consumer confidence has increased, a sub-index shows that 37% of consumers say that jobs are harder to find which an increase from 35.4% in March. This is a high percentage compared to other months and could possibly decrease the Consumer Confidence Index in the following months. A few other factors...
