Connect, Then Lead
I think a leader, no matter which level. Whether you are one of the team's founder, or switched to a new team, should understand one thing: if you want your team longer be able to gather around you, and be able to follow your instructions to do something, do not over-rely on their own power.

First, leaders should be able to output their values.
As a leader should guide and help other members of the team grow. Play the role of spiritual leader. Team leaders need to establish a positive good atmosphere, so as to gradually make the team coordination. Team set up by the same values tend to be more ties to withstand the test of time and difficulties, and capable of forming motivation to succeed.
Secondly, leaders should give employees due respect.
Leadership should be equitable treatment of other members of the team, not because of his power generated arrogant mood. Leadership and staff just different jobs and different responsibilities and powers. A leader only enough respect to employees, Employees will also respect you and work for you.
Third, we should be able to work reasonable planning, distribution of tasks.
Resources are limited, the staff is limited, the staff's energy is limited. Leadership assigning tasks, staff work hard. But finally you find that 10 working arrangement only a sense, the rest is useless, meaningless or even all, repeat after a few nobody will take seriously your work arrangement.
Some might say that, as a leader have to take risks, because resources are often tense. However, risk mitigation approach is to take a scientific approach, rather than squandering resources.
Finally, to be able to give employees guidance and help.
Different employees engaged in work have different expectations, and some people expect to pay, and some people can expect a promotion, some people can aspire to do things independently. Help

Cuddy, Matthew Kohut, and John Neffinger July–August 2013 Harvard Business review 55 Spotlight on InFluEncE Is it better to be loved or feared? Niccolò Machiavelli pondered that timeless conundrum 500 years ago and hedged his bets. “It may be answered that one should wish to be both,” he acknowledged, “but because it is difficult to unite them in one person, it is much safer to be feared than loved.” Now behavioral science is weighing in with research showing that Machiavelli had it partly right: When we judge others—especially our leaders—we look first at two characteristics: how lovable they are (their warmth, communion, or trustworthiness) and how fearsome they are (their strength, agency, or competence). Although there is some disagreement about the proper labels for the traits, researchers agree that they are the two primary dimensions of social judgment. Why are these traits so important? Because they answer two critical questions: “What are this person’s intentions...

...Equipment Required: • Circuit #1 of D3000 - 1.1 DC Circuits-1 Module • Shorting links and connecting leads. • Multimeter. CIRCUIT DIAGRAM: [pic] [pic] THEORY: Measurement of Voltage: [pic] Voltage is measured using a multimeter set to a voltage range, or using a dedicated instrument called a voltmeter. The meter is connected across (in parallel with) the circuit component under test as shown in Fig 1.2. With analog meters, the meter leads must be connected with the correct polarity, as indicated in Fig 1.2. If the lead polarity is incorrect, the pointer will try to move in the wrong direction and the meter could be permanently damaged. With digital multimeters however, should the meter be connected with incorrect polarity, damage will not occur, and a - symbol is shown on the display. Measurement of Current: [pic] Current is measured using a multimeter set to a current range, or using a dedicated instrument called an ammeter. The meter is connected in series with the circuit so that the circuit current flows through the meter as shown in Fig 1.3. Measurement of Resistance: Resistance is measured using a multimeter set to a resistance range, or a dedicated instrument called an ohmmeter. The meter is connected across the resistor being measured as shown in Fig 1.4. Innovation Leadership

...MBA6006 Capella University Introduction When one thinks of innovation, it is a term used to describe new ideas and new beginnings. One who introduced this concept to a failing organization, was an innovative leader named. Alan Lafley former CEO of P&G, adapted the five discovery skills that were displayed in Dyer, Gregersen, & Christensen ‘s Innovator’s DNA associating, questioning, observing, networking, and experimenting. Lafley applied these skills to create an innovative organization and gave a blueprint for other innovative organizations to follow. Although, leadership is a group experience that includes interpersonal influences or persuasion, is goal directed and can lead others through certain actions or to achieving goals through influence, and has hierarchy within the group that can be formal and well defined or informal and flexible. Critical Thinking Essay

...to the success of a team or organization. Most leaders who show emotions and connect with others emotionally tend to lead high performance groups and are more to be ahead of their competitors. Goleman also talked about the anatomy of emotions and believe they are the very structure on which our brain is built. Emotions are what give us the ability to think and react rationally. In other words, without emotions, leaders could make decisions that could be detrimental to their teams’ performance. A decision that leads to a positive outcome, is one made when we control our feelings and not let them get in the way of our thinking process. Goleman’s believes were based on several researches. One study done by Stanford University, showed that kids who exhibited patience and were less impulsive, were betting at controlling their emotions as they got older. These kids had a greater advantage to succeed than those who were impatient and could not handle stress well. Goleman pointed out that this was also evident in the study done by The Center for Creative Leadership. Leaders who failed at their jobs did so, because they failed to effectively manage stress. They were unable to help their teams navigate changes. According to Goleman, emotional intelligence is measured through five main leadership characteristics. First there is self-awareness. This allows leaders to focus on those feelings that can lead to decisions that are properly thought out and do not lack insight. Leaders who...

Self-Assessment of Emotional Intelligence

...relationships in mature and constructive ways” (Kinicki & Kreitner, 2009, p.137).Being a good leader entails more than just being smart; leaders need to be able to connect to their employees emotionally and empathetically. Organizations today not only look for leaders with the skills, but leaders that can emotionally connect to employees to obtain the organization’s goal. “Leaders have always played a primordial emotional role. No doubt humankind’s original leaders-whether tribal chieftains or shamanesses-earned their place in large part because their leadership was emotionally compelling” (Goleman, 2002, para.2). The lack of emotional intelligence can hinder working relationships in any organization. The results, accuracy, and benefits of my Emotional Intelligence Quiz will be discussed in this paper, in addition to whether I was surprised by the results. The Institute for Health and Human Potential emotional intelligence quiz states that my emotional intelligence is high. The results mention that my “level of EQ likely has been and will be a driver of your high performance for years to come” (IHHP, 2011, para.1). To me, this is a true statement. I have been in leadership roles before, and my ability to connect emotionally with my co-workers has made me an empathic and effective leader. Because I was able to connect with my employees, they felt they could trust me and this made the working environment less stressful. Many businesses today believe that leaders in the...
