...Ass The Assignation of JFK and the Conspiracy Theory Jayme Jackson DeVry University Contemporary History HIST410 Professor Lisa Jones December 14, 2013 The Assignation of JFK and the Conspiracy Theory November 22, 1963 was an unforgettable day in American history. On this day the thirty-fifth President of the United States, John F. Kennedy (JFK), was assassinated in Dallas, Texas while he rode in an open limousine with Texas Governor John Conally (Wicker, 1963). He received fatal head wounds caused by one of the bullets from the shooting. Lee Harvey Oswald (Oswald), the only person ever formally accused of the assassination, ran away from the Texas Book Depository where he worked, and was stopped for questioning by a police official. At which time, Oswald killed the officer with a revolver he had hidden (Wicker, 1963). Oswald fled to the Texas Theater and within a short time period he was apprehended by the police and brought into a police station (Wicker, 1963). Although Lee Harvey Oswald was accused of the crime, he was murdered by Jack Ruby and never prosecuted for the assassination. Since the tragic events that occurred in November of 1963, there have been many theories that the murder of President John F. Kennedy was done as part of a conspiracy. As this year of 2013 it has been fifty years since the events and people are still mystified with the assassination of JFK and the possible conspiracy theories. Most of the evidence shows that Lee Harvey Oswald could not be the only one involved. John F. Kennedy was the fourth United States President to be assassinated. Even today, there remains tremendous debate on who was responsible for the murder of Kennedy. The assassination of President Kennedy has started many different conspiracy theories about who was involved with the murder. President Kennedy wanted to travel to Dallas, Texas to help strengthen his vote for the upcoming election and also to gain more Democratic Party members. Before Kennedy went on the trip there was some concern about a sniper being on top of a building. President Kennedy also made comments before he was killed about his safety in a convertible car. Kennedy was shot thrice from the sixth floor of a nearby building. Despite being rushed to Parkland Memorial Hospital he did not make it most probably due to the final shot to the back of his head. The steel boned back brace worn by the president to ease his pain held him straight giving the killer a clear shot. Shortly after shooting a suspect named Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested for the murder of a police officer named D.J Tippit. The police officer was killed on Dallas Street less than an hour after...

Kennedy’s city tour he took two total bullets in the neck and head. Conspiracists claim that Lee Harvey Oswald didn’t act on this alone. Others say that more bullets shot out of the gun than the bullets that were shot. Did Oswald act alone or was there another involved? Were there multiple bullets triggered? Lee Harvey Oswald, John F. Cuba Conspiracy Theory

...Cuba Conspiracy theories • A few researchers point the finger at Fidel Castro, but many more point to the dangerous group of militant anti-Castro Cuban exiles. They are organized crime figures, and hardliners in the CIA who are frustrated over Kennedy's failure to get rid of Castro o With the lack of airpower, the group failed, and many in the exile community blamed Kennedy. Even though he continued a continuous CIA effort to eliminate Castro, it wasn't enough to satisfy the exiles who were ready to try another invasion. They grew even angrier after federal authorities shut down many of their training camps and confiscated weaponry in the spring of 1963. o In October, just seven weeks before JFK's killing, one anti-Castro militant warned,...

...The assassination of John F. Kennedy is one of the most controversial and debated topics in American History. JFK was one of the most beloved presidents of our time. One article of his death wrote, "The day the country cried". Unlike previous presidential assassinations, the JFK assassination is one that is filled the conspiracy theories. Such theories include a Government cover-up, Mafia influence and Cuban President Fidel Castro. The idea of a lone mind, Lee Harvey Oswald, plotting to kill President Kennedy is too simple. In the eyes of scholars there is simply no way that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. Even with the growing number of bogus theories, there are a number of logical theories that do hold water. In this paper I will discuss a couple of the conspiracy theories that are published for the public to read. President John F. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963 while riding through the streets of Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas. Many people now believe that his murder was a result of a conspiracy. Based on acoustical evidence, it has been scientifically proven, with 96.3% certainty that there were four shots fired from two different shooters. Many people believe that there was no possible way that Oswald had the time to fire all four shots, therefore there must have been a second shooter, right? Theorists who support the fact that Oswald acted alone like to question several ideas supported by these conspiracy theorists. To look at it more in depth you have to...

John F. Kennedy Assassination

...Who Killed John F. Kennedy? November 22nd is a day of recognition and remembrance for an important man in American history. This year will have been the 50th anniversary dedicated to great John F. Kennedy and his unfortunate assassination. However, after 50 years why are we still questionable to of who is actually responsible for his death. For me personally the charge against Lee Harvey Oswald doesn’t cut it for me. A six story shot from a building at angle that “the best gun man” now can’t mimic seems more of a cover up for what was really going on. Now, I personally cannot tell you who did it because I obviously wasn’t present on the day of the assassination. To be frank I wasn’t even a thought, but I can give my input in who I believe is responsible for it, and I believe that it wasn’t a single person. With all the conspiracy theories about Mr. Kennedy’s murderer, I believe it would be okay to rule out the ones about someone poisoning a salad, or sandwich and giving it to him because that’s obviously not what happened on the day of his assassination. I mean, it could have happened earlier, not saying that anything is possible, but there’s no reliable source that we can look back to. Plus, his face didn’t explode from a chemical reaction or poison… It was more of a bullet to the face approach. But sandwich and salads aside, one of the conspiracy theories that do capture my attention with convincing evidence is the fact that the ones truly responsible for his...

Kennedy's Reasoning Behind The Jfk Assassination Conspiracy

...November 22, 1963 is a day that lives on in infamy. Although there are many conspiracy theories and ideas surrounding who did it and how, one thing is for certain, the 35th president of the United States was killed. John F. Kennedy took office in January of 1961; he was the youngest president to ever be elected at the age of 42. His presidency was made famous by the Cuban Missile Crisis, Bay of Pigs, and the NASA space mission to land on the moon. Kennedy was slain in Dallas, Texas at 12:30p.m. while traveling in a motorcade (“John F. Kennedy”). Historical Significance of the Assassination of President John F. Kennedy

...Historical Significance of the Assassination of President John F. Kennedy My early childhood memory of growing up in Korea is vague but for some unknown reason I remember the day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. I don’t know why I remember this event at the early age of 6, but I clearly recall I was walking down the street from my house passing a store that sold electronic devices such as radios and televisions. The store had large speakers outside that played radio programs and a loud emergency news broadcast stated President Kennedy had been assassinated. People were gathered around the speakers and the TV displayed in the window watching and listening to a long news broadcast in grief, sorrow, and disbelief over the assassination of the American President. The grief, sorrow, and disbelief felt in Korea must have been felt all over the world and it must have been much worse in America. President Kennedy was popular, highly respected, and liked all over the world. To be assassinated in public view in front of the world changed the USA in many ways and still impacts the USA today. President Kennedy’s assassination is considered by many to be the start of the loss of America’s innocence. It represented the end of an innocent time and the coming of turbulent times. The race relations, the Vietnam War, the threat of Communism, and the distrust of government all combined together to make it a time of anxiety. President Kennedy represented hope and the prospects...

Jfk Assassination

...JFK Assassination: Are the Conspiracies Accurate? In 1976, the US Senate ordered a fresh inquiry into the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, who was murdered in 1963 during a motorcade in Dallas, Texas while campaigning for re-election. People who had been involved in the original Warren Commission investigations were asked to make fresh statements. The FBI and the CIA were persuaded to release more of their documents on Oswald. New lines of inquiry were opened and individuals who had not previously given evidence were persuaded to come forward. Most important of all, pieces of evidence such as photos and sound recordings were subjected to scientific analysis using the most up-to-date methods and equipment. The House Select Committee on Assassinations (HSCA) completed their investigation in 1979 and they finally came to a discrete verdict that Lee Harvey Oswald fired three shots at Kennedy, one of which killed the president. A fourth shot was fired from the grassy knoll, which was contradictory to the statement printed by the Warren Commission 16 years earlier. However, the HSCA could not determine who the second gunman was, and how he was in relation to Oswald. If the Warren Committee had been thorough and not corrupt the first time, the second investigation would never have been necessary. However, because of government negligence and corruption, we still to this day do not know who really killed President Kennedy.        The public became more interested in the...

Jfk Assassination Conspiracy Theory

...During his trial Ruby pleaded innocent but the jury found him guilty and sentenced him to death. In January 1967, while waiting on his new trial Ruby died of lung cancer in a Dallas hospital. Conspiracy theories have risen since John F. Kennedy’s assassination in Dallas Texas. Did a Secret Service Agent Kill JFK by Accident? This theory developed suggested that a Secret Service agent in the car right behind President Kennedy fired his rifle by accident, hitting JFK in the head. After carefully investigating it is a proven fact that JFK was shot from behind but by Oswald rifle. It would have been impossible for George Hickey [secret service agent] to shoot him and nobody around hickey to notice. The conspiracy theory was just that a theory. Most of the evidence supported by this theory was given by Howard Donahue in the seventies. Howard Donahue was a Baltimore gunsmith who's evidence went into a book called mortal error. All of Howard's evidence focused on the final shoot to the presidents brain. At the end of his investigation Howard conclude that George Hickey accidentally...
