...Valenzuela, Leonor Rivera, Consuelo Ortiga, O-Sei San, Gertrude Beckette, Nelly Boustead, Suzanne Jacoby and Josephine Bracken. These women might have been beguiled by his intelligence, charm and wit. Segunda Katigbak and Leonor Valenzuela Segunda Katigbak was her puppy love. Unfortunately, his first love was engaged to be married to a town mate- Manuel Luz. After his admiration for a short girl in the person of Segunda, then came Leonor Valenzuela, a tall girl from Pagsanjan. Rizal send her love notes written in invisible ink, that could only be deciphered over the warmth of the lamp or candle. He visited her on the eve of his departure to Spain and bade her a last goodbye. Leonor Rivera Leonor Rivera, his sweetheart for 11 years played the greatest influence in keeping him from falling in love with other women during his travel. Unfortunately, Leonor’s mother disapproved of her daughter’s relationship with Rizal, who was then a known filibustero. She hid from Leonor all letters sent to her sweetheart. Leonor believing that Rizal had already forgotten her, sadly consented her to marry the Englishman Henry Kipping, her mother’s choice. Consuelo Ortiga Consuelo Ortiga y Rey, the prettier of Don Pablo Ortiga’s daughters, fell in love with him. He dedicated to her A la Senorita C.O. y R., which became one of his best poems. The Ortiga's residence in Madrid was frequented by Rizal and his compatriots. He probably fell in love with her and Consuelo apparently asked him for romantic...

...childhood she was removed from the care of her grandparents and moved back to Worcester, Massachusetts with her fathers wealthy family. Bishop did not agree with the move since she was having major separation problems being away from her grandparents. Her time in Worcester is when this poem takes place. Elizabeth Bishop being an orphan is the reason this intelligent little girl realizes at such a young age who she really is. Elizabeth is left not knowing who she is because her parents have both passed. She is searching for that one person to look up to and that one person she is most like. In this poem she chooses Aunt Consuelo to be that one person. It would make most sense if Aunt Consuelo was her mothers sister since Elizabeth sees herself as her. There is great symbolism throughout this poem. It is an interesting moment when Aunt Consuelo cries out. She says the word "oh!," which has no...

...Segundo took to breathing life into Consuelo. Captivated by her bitterness he seemed to be turned on by the fact she was uptight and jealous. Consuelo would just stare at the festivities with eyes of disbelief. She was having trouble adapting to so many changes that were made at once. Sol took to dancing with the father of her future grandchild, and unrecognizably she lit up the dance floor with her monumental smile of pride. She seemed to have hit the champagne and the lottery, the good news she had received gave her a high. In the meanwhile Luna was changing out of that hideous dress. After she hung it and took one good last look at it, she knew she needed to plan something monumental and symbolic to get rid of it. So eager for a new chapter of blank pages on freshly drawn lines, today may not have been the day she had wanted, but whatever it was, she wanted to suppress that animal from her life. Certain not even a donation company would want it. She had only twenty hours before one of her gunners would be honeymooning in the Maldives for a two week span. For right now she resolved to enjoy the party, but right after she had a plan for that dress. Luna walked outside and apologized to Segundo. She asked for forgiveness over the entire humiliating ordeal, and promised him side work in the building, and also offered to pay for him to change his immigration status so he would not have to cross boarders illegally, and risk his life. Enthused with Consuelo, he could care less what Luna...

...JOSE RIZAL JOSÉ PROTACIO RIZAL MERCADO Y ALONSO REALONDA (born 19 June 1861, Calamba, Philippines- died 30 December 1896, Manila, Philippines), patriot, physician and man of letters whose life and literary works were an inspiration to the Philippine nationalist movement. Rizal was the son of a prosperous landowner and sugar planter of Chinese-Filipino descent on the island of Luzon. His mother, Teodora Alonso, one of the most highly educated women in the Philippines at that time, exerted a powerful influence on his intellectual development. He was educated at the Ateneo de Manila and the University of Santo Tomas in Manila. In 1882, he went to study medicine and liberal arts at the University of Madrid. A brilliant student, he soon became the leader of the small community of Filipino students in Spain and committed himself to the reform of Spanish rule in his home country, though he never advocated Philippine independence. The chief enemy of reform, in his eyes, was not Spain, which was going through a profound revolution, but the Franciscan, Augustinian and Dominican friars who held the country in political and economic paralysis. Rizal continued his medical studies in Paris and Heidelberg. In 1886, he published his first novel in Spanish, Noli Me Tangere, a passionate exposure of the evils of the friars rule, comparable in its effect to Harriet Beecher Stowe's Uncle Tom's Cabin. A sequel,El Filibusterismo, 1891, established his reputation as the leading spokesman of the...

...negros me quieren mirar. It caresses my dream, The smooth murmur of your sighing. How life laughs, If your black eyes look at me. And if it is mine the shelter Of your slight laughter That is like singing, It calms my wound, Everything is forgotten.

(Panelco) rode in a company rover jeep together with four other employees bound from the Panelco compound in Bani to Bolinao, Pangasinan. Somewhere in Tiep, Pangasinan, a Dagupan bus that was also headed for Bolinao, began to follow the rover jeep. ...According to 2X Ultra Tide commercial, the celebrities who appear are Kelly Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos. Both of them are American actor and actress. In my point of view, this is an appropriate celebrity to use in this commercial because of these following reasons. In the personal background, Kelly is a housewife that she has many things to responsible. She has many celebrity events to do and also has three children that she has to take care. Kelly is forty-five years old but still looks good. This is because she takes care of herself very well. At the same time, the commercial shows that the 2X Ultra Tide detergent is the one of good things that she selects. This is because it is easy for her to do laundry with an ultimate result...

...“The Miracle Worker” This movie was so interesting and very inspirational especially to all the teachers and students with disabilities. The movie was a mixed comedy and drama. I used to laughed when Miss Sullivan, was always replicated by her student Helen who was blind and deaf. For me, Miss Sullivan was a very wonderful teacher because we know that it is not easy to teach those children who have disabilities. But she really didn’t mind the difficulties of teaching Helen, because as I watch the movie Helen was so strong she used to refuse again and again when Miss Sullivan comes near her and commanding her to do something. Sometimes they both hurt each other. But undeniably it’s really a part of Miss Sullivan’s teaching. Miss Sullivan’s was a very lovable teacher of Helen, she would not allowed anyone to spoil her student. Because she believes that children are smart and lazy. They will try their best to look for opportunity of escaping from doing things they don’t like. For example, Helen grabbed all chances to reach her mother’s protect. Although we may not blame her because of her disability, we can assume that Helen’s parents should shoulder part of the responsibility they spoiled her out of sympathy. From Miss Sullivan’s method of teaching Helen to behave herself, we can see that sometimes “strict” plays a very important role in teaching. From her and her experience I think the necessary quality of a good teacher is that he must be able to see the students' situation...
