...Sikachenya malundu, a junior consultancy in business and a University of zambia graduate as of 2014, major in maths and geography. My names are Sikachenya Malundu, I was placed at a home of six children with a UKV Charlie Clay. Mr Kalenga, the man of the house- a former minister of agriculture, is a very good man who is more welcoming to his house. Mrs kalenga, an official at the Ministry of Education is such lovely mother with a command. It was such a good time being placed in the Kalenga’s with Charlie. We had good time there with my house mate Charlie especially when it came to eating. They provided us with good food and meals. The main problem we had was the distance from home to the next bus station. We spent each, one hour and thirty minutes, each day walking. Mr Kalenga made sure we had clean water through out. There was a problem with the electricity in the whole country, so we had power shortages each day for eight hours. The family has got a maid who helps out with the house chores, and most of the time she did the cleaning. But we later, after two weeks, decided to start helping out with cleaning plates and pots after having dinner. This was a bit a challenge to Charlie, because I am used to that kind of water. It is just a shame that we didn’t have time to say a physical farewell to Mrs Kalenga as she travelled to Kitwe on the Copperbelt. Our house was one of the nicest host homes as it is situated just next the massive embassy of America in Ibex hills. The...

...CONSULTANCY NOT A PROFESSION By Henry Egyeyu Bellying Consultancy P.O Box 1234, Kitgum 30th March, 2010 RE: CONSULTANCY MEETING PROFESSION OR NOT - A CASE OF BAIN & COMPANY 1.0 Background information Bain & Company was established in 1973 by a group of seven former partners and managers from the Boston Consulting Group headed by Bill Bain. The company was originally headquartered in Lexington, Massachusetts on Militia Drive. By the end of the decade, the firm's headquarters were in Faneuil Hall Marketplace in downtown Boston. Under Bain's direction, the firm implemented a number of unconventional practices in its early years. Notably, Bain & Co. would work with only one client per industry to avoid potential conflicts of interest. Partners did not carry business cards and clients were referred to by code names to enforce client confidentiality. The company won clients by boardroom referrals rather than marketing, and claimed its consultants worked on increasing a company's market value rather than simply handing clients a list of recommendations. To win business, Bain demonstrated the increase in the price of their clients' stocks relative to the Dow Jones Industrial Average. The firm's founding was followed by a period of growth in the late 1970s and early 1980s as the firm opened offices in Menlo Park, California, London, Munich, Paris, and Tokyo. Another consulting approach used...

...THE integration of CMC Ltd, which was acquired by Tata Sons earlier this year, with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is currently continuing on four to five different planes. This was stated by Mr Atul Takle, Vice-President — Corporate Communications, TCS, at an informal press meet here. According to him, the most important integration is being effected with regard to human resources. TCS is trying to incorporate its HR policies in the CMC format. The second step is being taken with regard to joint bidding for projects. Mr Takle said that sometimes both organisations were coming together and bidding jointly for a project. At other times, they were bidding separately. ``It varies from case to case. If we find that that by jointly bidding our purpose will be served, we do so. Otherwise, we bid separately. There is a constant exchange of views and flow of information among the two organisations,'' he said. A ``cultural'' integration was also on. According to Mr Takle, TCS was trying to inject its corporate and functioning culture into CMC. ``There is a wrong perception that CMC, being earlier a government organisation, lacks a modern corporate culture. This is not wholly true because CMC is made of IT professionals and they are totally aware of current corporate cultures,'' he said. TCS was also trying to initiate quality standards within CMC. ``We are also helping CMC in project delivery skills,'' he said. TCS was trying to sell CMC's business potential in the overseas...
