Contrast Essay When family from another state comes to visit you want to show them some of the activities that their home town does not provide. There are so many options people can choose from. I think two of the most common places people go to when they have visitors are theme parks or city fairs. Theme parks and city fairs are very different and each provides us with their type of fun activities. Theme parks have a great advantage over city fairs when it comes down to rides, bigger location, and price. Many people prefer theme parks because they offer better activities for fun, which gives theme parks an advantage over city fairs. An advantage theme parks have would be the rides. Everyone who has been to a theme park enjoys its rides. The rides are fast and they go in different directions which makes it better for the customers because it does not make them dizzy. They also last for a longer a period of time which makes it worth wild because sometimes you have to wait in line for an hour or even more. Also, theme parks are located in bigger place which gives more people the opportunity to attend at whatever time they like and still find tickets available. The bigger location of the park comes in handy because it does not get crowded and you have enough space to walk comfortable without anyone bumping into you. Another advantage theme parks have over city fairs is the price. The tickets are around thirty dollars and

sometimes they have offers were you buy one get one ticket free. Theme parks are very fun and you get what you pay for. In contrast, we have city fairs which are very different from theme parks and are not worth attending. City fair rides are lame all they do is go in circles and by the time you get of the third ride you are already vomiting all over the place. This makes city fair rides not enjoyable because after people vomit they do not feel like getting on another ride. City fairs are located in small places like a swap meet parking lot or something similar. People can walk around the whole fair like in thirty minutes which makes it boring because you are going around in circles seeing the same things over and over. Apart from that it small and it gets crowded to the point where people are bumping in to you. Also, the price of a city fair is expensive compared to a theme park it costs around twenty five dollars to buy a bracelet which allows you to get on all the rides for the whole day which I believe is only around four to five hours. City fairs do not give you what you pay for. Even though a city fair might look like a theme park they are very different. Theme parks are a form of spending the whole day their enjoying all the rides. Unlike city fairs they are only open for around five hours which does not give you enough time to enjoy all the rides. Some rides from fairs might also look like the rides from theme parks but they are not the same. There is a big difference in theme parks and city fairs. People’s decision on which place they decide to go matters a lot because this will determine how much fun they will have. Theme parks have a great advantage over city fairs. People choose from these two common places to enjoy a good day with their family. Depending

on what kind of fun the family would like to have is what will decide on where they are going. I would prefer a theme park rather than a city fair but other people would prefer to go to a city fair instead of a theme park.

Development and Evaluation of a Novel Contrast Medium Suitable for Conventional Enteroclysis, Mr Enteroclysis and Virtual Mr Enteroscopy.

...true FISP and 3d FLASH sequences was 15 ml/lt. Ten patients underwent conventional enteroclysis with 1.5 lt of 20% barium sulfate enema and 22.5 ml of gadolinium. MR Enteroclysis was performed afterwards using true FISP, fat suppressed 3d FLASH and fat suppressed HASTE sequences. In all patients the proposed contrast medium acted as positive in 3d FLASH (T1w), true FISP (T2/T1 w) and as a negative in HASTE (T2w). In conclusion, a 20% barium sulfate enema with 15 ml/lt gadolinium is appropriate for conventional and MR Enteroclysis studies. Keywords: MRI, contrast medium, gadolinium, Crohn's disease, Enteroclysis Text Introduction Fast and ultrafast sequences, high performance gradient coils and dedicated abdominal phased array coils resulted in significant improvement in MR Imaging of the small bowel (SB). Resent reports indicated that MRI may be clinically useful for anatomic demonstration, identification and characterization of SB abnormalities, providing information from the bowel lumen - wall and the mesenteries (1-8). However, there is no consensus on the optimum sequences that should be used for SB imaging or on the appropriate contrast media for lumen opacification. In the present study different gadolinium concentrations within a 20%...

There was eight grade I lesions; four grade II and three grade III lesions. “One participant who underwent resection of the posterior horn of the lateral meniscus 15 years previously and presented with a graded IIIB lesion of the posterior horn of the lateral meniscus in the other knee. After running there was no signal alteration that graded differently from the initial findings”. The MRI scans of those participants that were healthy before the race with no previous muscle injuries, after the marathon the MRI scans proved that no negative long-term-effects were experienced. ...The Wallpaper To many critics, “The Yellow Wallpaper” is a story about a symbol. Wallpaper, a furnishing associated with domesticity, is used to represent the cultural pattern of male dominance and female submission that circumscribes the Narrator’s mental freedom. Just as the wallpaper with its imprisoning pattern literally surround the Narrator, the course of rest and quiet prescribed by her physician/husband comes to repress her body and mind. Though the Narrator’s body remains trapped – forced to creep – by the house and the wallpaper; her mind frees itself, first through her journal and then by succumbing to insanity and delusion. The irony that insanity was the thing which her physician/husband most sought to avoid only compounds the Narrator’s helplessness. For, as she observes several times in the story, her physician/husband has good intentions and is doing what he believes correct. This puts the Narrator in the position of appearing ungrateful, and thus deserving more treatment if she argues against it. The parallels between the wallpaper and the Narrator are clearly delineated. Outwardly the paper’s disgusting shade of yellow symbolizes the Narrator’s own “illness” – the depression borne of nervous anxiety as diagnosed by her physician/husband. The sickly yellow, however, supports the wallpaper’s chaotic and restrictive pattern just as the Narrator’s illness is fed by the restrictions placed upon her body and mind by the male-centric world she inhabits. Finally, the...

Contrast Essay

...Body Paragraphs: Point-by-Point Each of your three body paragraphs will follow this format. Each paragraph will focus on a specific point of contrast (PC). Remember that a point of contrast is a quality that both subjects possess in different ways. This is called a “difference in kind.” Apples and oranges both have seeds, but they have different kinds of seeds. Your points of contrast should avoid the Not/-Er Fallacy. In other words, you must write about the actual characteristics of each subject and not simply say one has X but the other does not, or that one has X but the other has more X. Topic Sentences (T) You will have two topic sentences in each paragraph. One will come at the beginning of the paragraph and identify the first subject as it relates the point of contrast (the general difference). After you have provided the necessary information (see below), use a transitional expression (on the other hand, in contrast, however) and write the second topic sentence which will identify the second subject as it relates to the point of contrast. Support Distinguishing Characteristics (DC) After each topic sentence, you will present in specific, clear detail the characteristics that distinguish the first subject from the second. The details you present will vary. If you were writing about the characteristics that distinguish an apple seed from an orange seed, you would need to use description in order to show the reader what makes the apples seed different. If...

...Keishla Garcia Morales Prof. Ramos Ingl3202-021 1 March 2013 Does actions equal to consequences? Basically most of the people think that there is always a consequence for every action. But, is that really true? Do we always have a consequence for our actions? In “The Story of the Bad Little Boy” and “The Story of the Good Little Boy” by Mark Twain, it shows us the different consequences for several actions made by two boys, a bad one and a good one. In “The Story of the Bad Little Boy” during Jim’s school day, he took a pocket knife from his teacher. Knowing he may get in trouble, Jim placed the pocket knife in the hat one of the most innocent boy’s in his school. Twain spoke about how when boys who steal and try to blame it on someone else, the blame and consequences usually end up on the bad boy. But ironically, Jim not only did not get caught with stealing or replacing the pocket knife, but watched the poor innocent boy get shunned. For Jim, his plan seemed to work out perfectly and did not learn his lesson about stealing and blaming things on others like a typical bad boy would. When Jim became older, he abused his sister without an ounce of remorse. This was because unlike typical sisters that get bashed in the head, Jim’s sister did not get mad or retaliate at him. She quietly forgave and carried on with her life. This is ironic because people do not usually get hit in the head and walk away with no anger or frustration with the person that struck them. Jim could...

...Comparison and contrast essay Apr 24th 2012 11:39 Basketball and Soccer In modern life, most people enjoy amazing sports. Two of most exciting and common sports to participate andappreciate are basketball and soccer. People can not only watch both of them on television, but they can also playthem for recreation and health. The purpose of this essay is to compare and contrast the differences and similaritiesbetween these two sports. There are three aspects of these two sports: athletes, popularity, and equipment. The most noticeable difference between these two kinds of sports is their requirement of players. Both these twosports require different physical qualities of athletes or players. Basketball is one kind of sport that uses the upperbody; in contrast, soccer uses legs to control the ball and to win scores. Basketball players should be taller thannormal people, because basketball players need to get the rebounds and block(McDowell, Fryar, Ogden & Flegal, 2008). The average height of the NBA sportsmen is 7'15.93" ("2006-07 player survey:," 2007). On the other hand, soccer players do not have to be very tall. ...Compare and Contrast Essay Patrick Rogers Patrick Rogers Compare and Contrast Essay 27 June 2015 The Two books that I have chosen to write about in my compare and contrast essay are “Chickenhawk,” by Robert Mason and “We Were Soldiers Once...and Young: Ia Drang - The Battle That Changed the War in Vietnam,” by BG Harold G. Moore (Ret) and Joseph L. Galloway. These two books focus on the Vietnam War and more importantly the 1st Cavalry Divisions time in the Vietnam war. Both books are autobiographies written from a soldier’s point of view and both offer a unique look at life for different types of soldiers during the Vietnam War during the same period of time (1965) and even during the same Battles (Ia Drang Valley). Chickenhawk, by Mason, is written from the point of view of a huey “slick” pilot in the army’s first use of air assault or airmobile techniques. The book begins with Mason starting his career in the army and his transition through flight school and eventually making his way to the Vietnam War. The majority of the book focuses on his time in Vietnam and the daily life of an Army Huey pilot in the 1st Cav as well as his transfer to the “Blue Stars”, which occurs at the end of his tour. Compare and Contrast Essay

...Sister Flowers / Someone’s Mother In this essay we will discuss the comparison and contrast of two stories, Sister Flowers and Someone’s Mother. One of the easiest comparisons is that both of these stories were written in the first person by the authors. In Sister Flowers the author tells a tale of the struggle she had dealing with a traumatic event. In the same way, Someone’s Mother tells of the struggle the author had in leaving an elderly woman lost and alone. Also, both stories show a person’s genuine concern to help someone in need. Sister Flowers deals with a woman helping a child to find her voice in life. Likewise, Someone’s Mother shares the story of a woman who helps a hitchhiker who has seemed to have lost her way. Though both stories showed similarities they also were different in many ways. One of the ways in which the two stories contrast is that both took place in different parts of the country and in different eras. Sister Flowers is set in Arkansas in around the 30’s; however, Someone’s Mother was further north in New York and took place in 2007. Another difference between the stories was they both had different agendas. Someone’s Mother was more of a story dealing with the characters compassion. In Sister Flowers you felt the story leaning more towards the inner struggle of the character. In conclusion, you can see that there are many similarities as well as differences in these stories. Both were thoroughly enjoyable and should be recommended for all to...

...English composition compare and contrast essay Point by point arrangment essay 13march 2012 Introduction: There are several reasons why having a college degree versus not having a college degree can greatly benefit you when doing a job search and wanting to apply for higher paying jobs. Having a degree can open many doors of opportunity to you as without it you may run into a road block. In the following essay I will compare and contrast the reasons for this.. First diffrence with having a college degree: On the job you are applying for when it says college degree perfered well when you go to apply for it having that degree puts you ahead of consideration for the job compared to those that do not have it. Having a college degree is liking having years of expereince in a job even if you don’t . No degree sometimes enables you from applying for a lot of jobs often times it’s a requirement to even be considered for the job. Second diffrence: People with college degree’s earn more and start with higher pay Having a college degree is like having years of experience they see you take the time to learn in this job area and are willing to pay more when they hire you because you are already trianed. No college degree and employeers will often times start you at minum wage. ...Compare and Contrast Essay The life of the horse in the story “Am I Blue”, and the life of a slave are very different, but the same in many ways. They are the same because the horse was owned by someone just like the slave was. The horse was also defenseless just as well as a slave was. Both the slave and the horse were both very unhappy. They were both sad, and upset, and hurt. They both wanted to be free but couldn’t be. Both horses and slaves were whipped and told what to do. Also when the the mother horse was taken away from the male horse it’s the same as when a baby is taken away from a woman slave. Both the horse and a slave do not have much freedom, and over worked and taken advantage of. They are different because a horse is an animal and a slave is human. A slave can do more for themselves rather than a horse. Horses can endure more pain then the pain of slavery. Horses are a lot stronger than a slave. Slaves on the other hand never gave up. When a slave falls they get ‘right back up and keep going. A horse if it breaks its leg it’s done for. Its owner will most likely just shoot it and continue on. A slave has to be taken care a little bit more than a horse would. Horses can go a long while without eating. Slaves can only go a couple days. There are many different reasons why these two are the same and why they are different. These were only a...

...Michael A. Miller Janet Joslin ENC 1101 October 12, 2013 “ The Ways We Lie “ and “ Too Much Pressure” In Stephanie Ericsson’s essay “ The Ways We Lie “, her thesis states “ lying , she finds , may be unavoidable and even sometimes beneficial” (348 ). In Colleen Wenke’s essay “ Too Much Pressure “ her thesis ask the question “ Why do students cheat n school? ( 482 )”. Both of these essays give their strong reasons on why these two things take place. For Ericsson it is situations that we are put in, and for Wenke the excuse is the stresses of life. Both of these essays are thought provoking in the aspect of the general views of the reasons why we do things. These essays discuss in great detail each author’s point of view and tone. The tone in “ The Way We Lie “ is that of it is just the way of the world and for that we really should not be surprised. In this essay when Ericsson states “ We lie, We all do. We exaggerate, we minimize, we avoid confrontation, we spare people’s feelings, we conveniently forget, we keep secrets, we justify lying to the big-guy institutions ( 348 )”. This tone has a what is the big deal feeling. In contrast the essay “ Too Much Pressure “ has a different tone. When the Wenke says “ A main difference between school today and school when my parents were enrolled is that we are now very goal-oriented and will compromise our values to achieve those goals” ( 484 ). Wenke also states “ Students who would not usually cheat get sucked into...
