Conversation Between Peris And Tally's 'Selfishness'

Wilde’s quote reminds me of the conversation between Peris and Tally earlier in the story. His take on selfishness somehow relates to the conversation, but also relates to its outcome. Seeing as to how many of the story’s elements relate to real life and how we see it, I can understand where the logic of most of the talk came from, but not all. Tally had decided that she wasn’t going to help the Specials, and if she was, she’d have to betray her friend.
