Which two core values did you choose?
I chose Happiness and Respect
Why?
I chose these two core values because after finishing the selection process, these where the ones with whom I identified myself more. After fully thinking them through I noticed that I could link the other values that where listed with the final two that I ended up choosing, which means that I saw them that they could be interrelated.
I consider myself as a happy, positive and optimistic person so I immediately identified myself with the value of Happiness. I also chose another value which is Respect because when I saw the page, I noticed that it was not listed and to me it is a really important value; after taking my time to decide my two core values, I knew that it was going to be difficult for me to cross the value out.
What process did you use to choose them?
I followed the instructions like everyone else but when it came to the selection process, my memories took part in my decision making and it helped me discovered which values where the ones I used the most in my life.
Did you add any values to the list? If so, explain why, even if they didn't make the final cut
I added Honesty and Respect because I was taught these two values from an early age and since then, they have been really important in my life and I believe that they go together in my day to day activities.

...Core Values Stacia Bell 06/25/2015 MBA687: Strategic Planning Core values of an association are those qualities we hold which frame the establishment on which we perform work and behave. We have a whole universe of qualities; however some of them are so essential, so critical to us that throughout the adjustments in the public eye, government, legislative issues, and innovation they are still the center qualities we will maintain. In a perpetually evolving world, these qualities are steady. These values are not depictions of the work we do or the procedures we utilize to perform our central goal. The qualities underlie our work, how we communicate with one another, and which systems we utilize to satisfy our central goal. Core values are the fundamental components of how we go about our work. They are the practices we utilize, or ought to be utilizing, consistently in all that we do. Obviously, core values don't generally need to be certain. A few individuals may be driven without anyone else interest or eagerness, and these are center values as well on the off chance that they direct the way the individuals experience their life or runs their company. In looking at certain values from a Christian worldview, a person can view the Bible as a guide for core values and their meanings. “Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understanding, or from human initiative. Core Value

...My Core Values: Honesty, Prayer, Bible, and Evangelism Most people and organizations have their own core values; for example, one of Apple’s core values according to Tim Cook Apple’s CEO is simple, not the complex (Apple core values, n.d.). Martin Luther King’s core values was that his children live in a colorblind society (Garris, 2006). Core values play a great role for organizations to achieve their mutual goal. Therefore, to become a good leader, leaders must know what their core values are. Liard (2013) defines value as “enduring beliefs and feelings about what is preferable. Values often influence our thoughts and actions” (LDRS 320, Fall). Organizations can develop and grow through their core values. Core values help organizations to perform their task consistently. Hill (2008) introduces three core values that come from God’s character: holiness, justice, and love (Hill). Holiness is main God’s character that is distinguished from humans’ character. After Adam committed sin, human could not be free from sin. Therefore, human being even God’s people has committed sin, so God had asked his people to be holy like Him (Leviticus 11:45). Holiness is needed for business. Swindle, trick, and lie must be disappeared in business fields. The second element is justice that “provides order to human relationships by laying out reciprocal sets of rights and duties for those living in the context of community” (Hill, 2008, p. 37). Justice leads equality and equal opportunity...

Core Values

...Core Values Adults always tend to tell children that everyone’s unique; No two people are the same. Throughout my life, I’ve learned that the reason everyone is different is because every person has different morals and values. When I was first asked about my top three core values, I was speechless. I had never really just sat down and thought about what characteristics were most important to me. But after completing a class assignment titled, “My Core Values,” I was able to find out what my top three personal core values are. The three core values that relate to myself the most are responsibility, challenge, and justice. They University’s core values, on the other hand, seem to be mostly different. They are responsibility, excellence, servant leadership, integrity, and generosity. Even though my core values seem different than my schools, I believe they all have a very common underlying message. Responsibility, in my opinion, is one of the most important traits a person can have; therefore it’s definitely in my list of top three core values. Being responsible means doing things you have to do, even when you do not want to. This allows other people to trust you. People then often link responsibility with another core value: trustworthiness. Responsibility can be something as simple as watching your little sister, or as complex as being responsible for other people’s lives, such as a pilot of a plane. If you are not responsible, people will often not believe what you say, and...

The seven Army values are Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. All of the Army core values complement one another. ...Core Values Reading Essay Michele Katora Ms. Bonacci 11.6.2014 Marywood University’s definition of empowerment is stated as “access to education that enables all to achieve their full potential to live as conscientious citizens in a pluralistic society”. In two separate readings, “This is Water” by David Foster Wallace, and in “Like Lily Like Wilson” by Taylor Mali, both have that same one core value in mind- empowerment. Mali and Wallace both speak of knowledge and the impact it has within ourselves; how learning to think and speak with conviction gives hope for a greater society. At the 2005 commencement ceremony for the graduating class of Kenyon University, David Foster Wallace spoke to the graduates on the impact of thinking. Fundamentally, human beings have a self-centeredness core, and the inner most part of everyone believes the universe solely revolves around themselves. It’s known this is not really true, but it is in our hard core wiring to believe so. It is in our wiring to believe things are happening to us, that we are victims or the product of some occurrence. In psychology, Sigmund Freud would relate this to our Id, the pleasure principle that is believed to be ingrained in us from birth. These thoughts happen so quickly; they come without much thought or question in to them. David Foster Wallace addresses the class, however, to think about these immediate thoughts, and challenge them. In a great example given by Wallace, he tells the graduates of the...

...EDLD 8020 Leadership for Equity I California State University East Bay Assignment #1 Submitted by, Gary Middleton June 30, 2015 After reading “Making sense of Public Schooling”, “Beyond a Domesticating Education”, and “The Critical Pedagogy Reader”, it dawned on me how the educational system is not much different than emancipation and some of the reasoning behind that movement. Some of the readings seem to ignore the broader aspects of how power functions in "educational" environments: That power transpires into the chosen few actually receiving an education and those not in power being held down and kept in a state of flux. There are various State educational systems that have a very long history of power led motives within their institutions. Any type of change or the fight to break the status quo must take into consideration that the developing commercialization of Universities, Public School, and systems of education. is better understood as a shift in "masters" and not as a sudden change in power dynamics, etc. Corporations may be gaining more and more control over school systems, but they are following in the footsteps of the “Power Group” before them, State-governments before them. Public Schools and Universities have a history almost entirely composed of techniques for social control, whether those in control are Corporations, States, or even Churches. The panoptical style of the playing field, the power dynamics of teacher-student relationships, the rules and...

America's Core Values

...A great nation cannot be made possible without strong core values it is built upon. Strong core values create a basis of a country’s aspirations and morals. The founding fathers of the United States of America (US) established this country to be a model nation by exemplifying their tenets: liberty, equality, and justice. However, that cannot always be seen. One has seen America utilize internment camps, atomic bombs, McCarthyism, and segregation throughout history. Not to mention, the misogyny and racism prevalent in events and organizations such as the The Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) and the American Dream. The United States of America failed to exhibit liberty, equality, and justice through international and domestic from World War...

Core Values of Hinduism

...Core Beliefs of Hindus By Amrutur V. Srinivasan Part of the Hinduism For Dummies Cheat Sheet Hinduism is not an organized religion and has no single, systematic approach to teaching its value system. Nor do Hindus have a simple set of rules to follow like the Ten Commandments. Local, regional, caste, and community-driven practices influence the interpretation and practice of beliefs throughout the Hindu world. Yet a common thread among all these variations is belief in a Supreme Being and adherence to certain concepts such as Truth, dharma, and karma. And belief in the authority of the Vedas (sacred scriptures) serves, to a large extent, as the very definition of a Hindu, even though how the Vedas are interpreted may vary greatly. Here are some of the key beliefs shared among Hindus: Truth is eternal. Hindus pursue knowledge and understanding of the Truth: the very essence of the universe and the only Reality. According to the Vedas, Truth is One, but the wise express it in a variety of ways. Brahman is Truth and Reality. Hindus believe in Brahman as the one true God who is formless, limitless, all-inclusive, and eternal. Brahman is not an abstract concept; it is a real entity that encompasses everything (seen and unseen) in the universe. The Vedas are the ultimate authority. The Vedas are Hindu scriptures that contain revelations received by ancient saints and sages. Hindus believe that the Vedas are without beginning and without...
