The Wet Seal is operating the SAS Size Profiling to use past sales data to make future projections of the size that will be demanded and style in that specific store. It uses this information for buying and distribution of workflows. Store-specific sizes match local demand.
Wet Seal’s business structure is based on providing customers with many up-to-date clothing like many stores do although they turn over inventory two to three times faster than a traditional retailer. Eighty-five percent of products are not restocked, this allows new clothing to come and increases the variety in merchandise. Traditional business intelligence in retail has reached a plateau of usefulness,” Kubo says.
SAS has helped wet seal because they study their customers and sales. They have a higher probability of meeting their local demand needs than before because know they are analyzing these patterns. Results like increase in sales is living proof of SAS’s success.
