I believe that it is easy to see that over the last year Cracker Barrel has had a steady growth in its business, if nothing else it did not lose any ground against its competitors. Based on current stock quotes and financial reports, it is clear that Cracker Barrel shows a moderate sales growth and while the organization does have a lot of debt it is also making a good return which allows the organization to pass on this return to its shareholders.

Currently, Cracker Barrel looks to be in a good cash position as far as being able to meet the requirements placed on them at this time, their debt is decreasing every year which is good news not only to the employees but to the investors also.

This means there is the possibility for even more positive return that could be passed along to the shareholders. While the free cash flow is down a little from the last year reported there is no concern for alarm as several factors could attribute to this.

The bottom line is that a profit was made in the last reported year and the organization is still operating in the green, in other words they are not losing money. Overall I would say that the organization made good use of its money over the last year by working hard to pay some of its debt off and increase its return to keep its shareholders happy.

While each of the above organizations are making a profit, according to the chart above Cracker Barrel has a higher profit margin than Darden Restaurants, INC. This could be attributed to several different factors but one comes to mind is the fact that Darden Restaurants, INC. has many different sub organizations to divide its operating cost with which in-turn will show a high return on assets and profit for the home organization.

However, it is clear to see that Cracker Barrel has a high return on its Asset Utilization and thus are doing very well compared

Who gets to choose what TV show to watch? In short, the household must allocate its scarce resources among its various members, taking into account each member’s abilities, efforts, and desires.
