POWERPOINT PRESENTATION GUIDELINES
Do This: • Make your PowerPoint presentation no more than 10 slides long

• Use at least 5 photographs AND use the proper citation within the presentation

• Use bulleted points

• Use at least 30 point font

• Use highly contrasting colors between text and background (you don’t want your message to blend in with the background)

• Use appropriate graphics, animations, and sound effects (make sure it’s relevant to the message)

• Use a similar color scheme throughout your presentation

• Avoid overcrowding your slides with images and text

• Cite your sources o Cite your images on the same slide o Cite everything else at the end of your presentation

• You are encouraged to bring in an artifact(s) from the country you have studied. This artifact can be a knick-knack, literature, tourist brochure, traditional food, etc

Do NOT do this:

• Use punctuation at the end of a bullet

• Overuse bold, italics, underlining, or ALL CAPS

• Use Confusing Fonts (confusing fonts)

• Use distracting graphics, animations, and sound effects

• Use too much text (your bullet points should be a summary)

• Let your presentation exceed 10 minutes in length
