...of Education, Lakehead University (Canada) [Victorian Web Home —> Authors —> Music, Theatre, and Popular Entertainment —> Theatres] Much of the following information has been gathered from Frederick and Lise-Lone Marker's in "A Guide to London Theatres, 1750-1880" in The Revels History of Drama in English, Vol. VI: 1750-1880 (1975). They, in turn, consulted H. Barton Baker's History of the London Stage (London, 1904), Allardyce Nicoll's A History of English Drama 1660-1900 (Cambridge, 1966), E. B. Watson's Sheridan to Robertson (Cambridge, Mass., 1926), and The London Stage (Carbondale, Ill., 1962-68). Phyllis Hartnoll's Concise Oxford Companion to the Theatre offers more detailed information about many of these 19th c. theatres. For supplementary texts, consult the "Reference List" below. Adelphi (Strand) Built in 1806 opposite Adam Street by merchant John Scott (who had made his fortune from a washing-blue) as the Sans Pareil to showcase his daughter's theatrical talents, the theatre was given a new facade and redecorated in 1814. It re-opened on 18 October 1819 as the Adelphi, named after the imposing complex of West London streets built by the brothers Robert (1728-92) and James (1730-94) Adam from 1768. The name "Adelphoi" in Greek simply means "the brothers." Among the celebrated actors who appeared on its stage was the comedian Charles Matthews (1776-1835), whose work was so admired by young Charles Dickens. It had more "tone" than the other minor theatres...

...Guide to Referencing and Citations Sheffield Hallam University Learning and Information Services Accurate and consistent referencing is essential in all academic work. Whenever you refer to either the work or ideas of someone or are influenced by another's work, you must acknowledge this. Similarly if you use a direct quotation from someone's work this should be referred to accurately. There are a number of systems of referencing. This guide offers detailed guidance based on a range of British and international standards for producing references and bibliographies according to the Harvard method. You may be asked to use another system, such as a numeric system or to use a different version of the Harvard method. If this is the case, please refer to your course handbook or tutors for guidance. ...IGOROTS * Home * IGOROT SONGS * IGOROT DANCE * IGOROT TRADITIONS * MONEY ON THE MOUNTAIN IGOROT TRADITIONS IGOROT TRADITIONS When we talk about Igorot identity and culture, we also have to consider the time. My point is that: what I am going to share in this article concerning the Igorot culture might not be the same practiced by the Igorots of today. It has made variations by the passing of time, which is also normally happening to many other cultures, but the main core of respect and reverence to ancestors and to those who had just passed is still there. The Igorot culture that I like to share is about our practices and beliefs during the "time of Death". Death is part of the cycle of life. Igorots practice this part of life cycle with a great meaning and importance. Before the advent of Christianity in the Igorotlandia, the Igorots or the people of the Cordilleran region in the Philippines were animist or pagans. Our reverence or the importance of giving honor to our ancestors is a part of our daily activities. We consider our ancestors still to be with us, only that they exist in another world or dimension. Whenever we have some special feasts (e.g., occasions during death, wedding, family gathering, etc.), when we undertake something special (like going somewhere to look for a job or during thanksgiving), we perform some special offer. We call this "Menpalti/ Menkanyaw", an act of butchering and offering animals. During these times we call them...

...COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE 90 VALUE CHAIN ANALYSIS 92 IMPORTANT ENVIRONMENTS THAT ETIHAD NEEDS TO BE AWARE OF: 108 ARE THE VISIONS AND MISSIONS CLEAR AND MEASURABLE? 110 REFERENCES 111 INTRODUCTION Strategic management is the comprehensive collection of ongoing activities and processes that organizations use to systematically coordinate and align resources and actions with mission, vision and strategy throughout an organization. Strategic management activities transform the static plan into a system that provides strategic performance feedback to decision making and enables the plan to evolve and grow as requirements and other circumstances change (Dess, Gregory G., G.T. Lumpkin and Marilyn L. Taylor, 2005). Our group decided to work upon Etihad Airways, the flag carrier airline for United Arab Emirates. The name ‘Etihad’ is derived from an Arabic word which means ‘union’. In addition to its main activity of passenger transportation, Etihad controls Etihad cargo and holidays. Aside from that, they have stakes in many other airlines as well. Some examples include Air Berlin, Air Seychelles, Jat airways (Serbian national airline) and Virgin Australia to name a few. In this report we provide a detailed insight on the company’s information, performances and analyze the external and internal environment and see how they affect the company.
