“Let’s go Eagles!!”, Coach Smith jeered. The Eagles had just punted the ball to the Lions and were down by 14-10 with two minutes left.
“Come on boys let’s get a stop here and give us a chance on offense”, Tommy said with enthusiasm.
The Eagles had to stop the Lions from scoring or their chances of winning would diminish.
“Ready, set, hike”, The Lions Quarterback yelled as he dropped back in the pocket. I’m open!”, the Lions wide receiver screamed. The Quarterback let go of the ball. It was a perfect spiral. The receiver caught the ball and turned to run down the field. Just as he turned around the Eagles Linebacker, Jacob, was there and the helmets of the two player collided. Tommy ran out onto the field to a position he never played his whole life. “Third down and seven, for the Lions. This play will probably decide the outcome of this game”, the play by play announcer exclaimed. Tommy was assigned to cover the Lions fastest player. The quarterback yelled his play to the team and the huddle broke.
“Hike”, the Quarterback screeched. He dropped back into his two step. The quarterback look down field to his tight end and saw no one was covering him. Tommy was supposed to be covering him. The quarterback threw a perfect spiral just as the defensive line got to him. Tommy saw the ball leave his hand and raced towards the receiver. The tight end jumped up to catch the ball, but the ball wasn’t there. Tommy had jumped in front of him to intercept the ball and was running down the field. With only 10 seconds left the coaches yelled at Tommy to get out of bounds. Tommy was at the 40 yard line when he ran out of gas and stepped out.
The sideline was going nuts as Tommy ran over to catch his breath before he had to go out and lead his team to victory.

This is it. If this play doesn’t work then they will lose the game. The running back ran 2 yards before he turned around and flicked it back to Tommy. The play is known as the flee flicker. Tommy caught the ball and looked downfield to his favorite receiver. They made eye contact and Tommy knew it was going to work. The clock at 7 seconds was clicking down. It was now or never for the Eagles. Tommy released the ball and it went soaring down the field. The clock was now at 2 seconds. The Lions defender tried to catch the ball, but his teammate knocked him over and it hit off his fingertips. The ball flew over the Eagles receiver into the endzone. The receiver dove to catch the ball and it landed in his finger tips. The referee rushed over to check if he held on to
