An Experimental Psychology Requirement Presented to Arts and Sciences Division Cor Jesu College Digos City

TULOD BS Psychology 3 September 2015 ABSTRACT The objective of the creativity experiment is to measure the flexibility, novelty and originality through response production of a series of letters .The experiment has two parts the part 1 which the experimenter presents the anagrams and ask the subject to form as many words as possible from the given anagrams with a time limit of 4 minutes. And the Part 2 which the experimenter presents the anagrams as words and the task of the subject is to form as many words as possible within 4 minutes. Result shows that out of the anagrams that is given in the part I of the experiment it has the many numbers of words that is been created by the subjects with a total of 158 words while in the part II the total responses is 124 .The difference between the Part I and part II is the subjects created more words than the Part II. And also out of the anagrams that is given the procedure in the part I is more likely the easier unlike the Part II. It implies that when the experimenter presents the anagrams as words it would be likely elicited or difficult to the subject to make words out of the given words unlike making words out of the scrambled. The resuls also shows that the words that there are almost 5 words that is frequently used and also through this experiment the speedity of the thinking skills of the subjects.

Creativity has been defined in several different ways by various media theorists. In 1997, Bentley explained creativity as ‘The making of the new and rearranging of the old’. At the start of the course, we analysed the contents pages and front covers of college magazines and had to create our own original college magazine.
