Stir in ½cup sugar, juice and zest, 5 tbsp Cointreau, kirsh and orange flower water and bring to a simmer. One at a time, dip a crepe into orange sauce, fold in quarters and set to one side of the pan. Repeat with remaining crepes, arranging them in an overlapping pattern around the skillet. Remove from heat, sprinkle with remaining 2 tbsp. sugar, pour remaining Cointreau and cognac over crepes and carefully ignite with a match or lighter. Spoon sauce over crepes until flame dies out and serve immediately.

Malunggay as Pancakes

...Chapter II Review of Related Literature and Studies A. Related Literature Pancakes are ancient food. The word pancakes appears in print as early as 1430. Pancakes may have been around since Neolithic humans domesticated einkorn wheat, ground it into flour mixed with bird’s egg and goat’s milk and poured the batter on a heated rock. It happened before there were pans and long before ovens. The ancient cooks dropped a little gruel on a hot rock of campfire, resulting in thin cakes that were tastier than plain gruel or cakes cooked directly in the embers of the fire. Perhaps because of this ancient lineage, pancakes are associated with rituals in many countries – Shrove Tuesday, Candlemas, and Chanukah to name a few. From these rudimentary beginnings sprang a vast array of bread and pancakes, but the two were originally the same. The ancient Greeks used griddles to cook a flat loaf drizzled with honey called ‘kreion’ and cakes of soft cheese. The Romans as revealed in the cookbook by Apicius made dishes similar to modern pancakes. Medieval pancakes, frequently made form barley or rye and lacking leavening, were relatively heavy affairs. They were quite different from contemporary fluffy or tender versions. Pancake Day is another name for Shrive Tuesday, from the custom of eating pancakes on this day, still generally observed. Shrive is an old Saxon word, of which shrove is a corruption and signifies confession. The custom of dining on pancakes on Shrove Tuesday is Roman...

...Evaluation on pasta When I cooked my pasta I forgot some of my ingredients therefore I had to use my initiative and cooked it the way that I thought would be best to complement all the ingredients that I had brought with me in the end it all turned out alright this is reflected in the star profiles of when other people tasted it. Next time I cook it I might add either tuna or meatballs this will enhance the flavours and also give it more depth taste wise. When I was presenting my pasta I put them in the middle of my plate and arranged them so that they were in a square in the middle, after that I got a piece of tissue and wiped the edges of the plate where there was some sauce. I did this so that my dish looked professional and more appealing to the eye. In the lesson I had set my self a time frame so that I would have enough time to clean the dishes. My time frame was thirty minutes which I abided by and ended up finishing 15 minutes early which was a strength because I got more time to finish cleaning up my area. The recipe was easy to follow because the steps were clear and easy to read this is because the language used in the text was not too formal. When other people tasted my food they complemented me on the use of Italian herbs, I got no criticism, which I was pleased with. I would say that some of my strengths were that I used my initiative and used the ingredients that I had and I did not let forgetting some of the ingredients affect the final product (pasta dish). Write an Operational Plan for an Non Existing Company

...Situation Analysis The “Holy Crepe” is a QSR, that resides somewhere between a fast food restaurant (FFR) and a sit down restaurant. This category is growing quickly, as people adjust to paying a little more than they would for typical fast food. While the differentiation between QSR's and traditional fast food may be transparent to most consumers, there has been a conscious shift in purchasing towards FFRs and QSRs that provide innovative menus and a selection of custom or customizable menu items. Albert Park is a rich market for QSRs. The “Holy Crepe” will bring new lunch choices to the market. Market Summary Albert Park has been transformed into a magnificent recreational asset that is home to the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre, a golf course, soccer stadium, over 20 sporting ovals as well as several sailing clubs. Each year, the road around the lake is transformed into the racetrack for the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix. The market consists of the residents, and hundred thousand of visitors from other areas. There are about 8500 people living and working in Albert Park. If just 15% of those people buy “Holy Crepe” sandwiches or crepes twice a month, the company will sell 30600 sandwiches/crepes to that market per annum. My Ear-Personal Narrative

...I woke up. The humming of Justin Biebers new single shook me awake. As I sang to the fresh new song, the warming sound of the cars hopping along sang in my ear. I held tight on the satisfactory crepes. Today was my day and nothing was going to stop me. My popularity began. The sound of a hundred dings rang in my ear. I am the most popular girl in the school. At last the peace of the holidays held me in its hands. It all stopped. The humming of Justin Biebers new single changed into the swacking anger birds. The warming sound of the cars hopping along began to creek like a cricket. Instead of me holding tight on the satisfactory crepes, I shunned away the smell of waste. I soon realized, that I was not in safety. I was in the “holiday of...

How to Make a Pinata

...flour, three cups of water, a balloon, two bowls (one big enough to hold a balloon), a spoon, blank sheets of paper, three tablespoons of cooking oil, a knife, paint or other decoration tools, crepe paper, strings, and finally candy or other goodies. First, lay down a sheet of newspaper on the floor and tear several pages of newspaper into strips. Then, get the two cups of flour and three cups of water. Next, mix them in a bowl until it forms a thick-glue paste. After that, inflate the balloon and rub a little cooking oil on it so the balloon would easily get off the paper when you later pop it. Place the balloon in the other bowl to prevent it from rolling while you work. Now soak the newspaper strips in the flour-water mixture and put the strips all over the balloon leaving a hole only at the top of the balloon. Leave it to dry. Then, after it dried, add another layer of newspaper on the balloon and allow it to dry. Again after it dries, add yet another layer but instead use blank sheets of paper for decoration. Once again let it dry. Let the pinata dry until it is stiff and no longer wet or sticky when you touch. If the balloon has not popped, pop it and make a small hole on top to add candy. After that, decorate the piñata with paint or other coloring utensils. After you do, glue crepe...

Globalization and Culture

...of offering some commonly diverse choices. So today you can buy sushi in either France or Germany. This makes France and Germany more alike, yet in my view this is closer to being an increase in diversity than a decline in diversity. If we think of societies that have very well developed markets—for example the United States—what we find happening is not that everyone, for instance, buys or listens to the same kind of music. As markets have allowed suppliers to deliver products to consumers, we’ve seen a blossoming of different genres of music. In the 20th century the United States evolved rock and roll, rhythm and blues, Motown, Cajun music, many different kinds of jazz—ragtime, swing, stomp—heavy metal, rap. The list goes on. When I look at the empirical evidence from societies with well-developed market economies, I find that what people want to buy is not fixed or biologically constructed. When the cost of supplying products goes down, people tend to use culture to differentiate themselves from other people, to pursue niche interests, to pursue hobbies. It’s the poorer or more primitive societies in which people specialize in one type of consumption. If you go to pygmy society in the Congo, for Critics of globalization contend that, even if increased trade promotes material prosperity, it comes with a high spiritual and cultural cost, running roughshod over the world’s distinctive cultures and threatening to turn the globe into one big, tawdry strip mall.
