For this assignment I decided to conduct the interview with Mortgage Loan Originator, Shane Reynolds, from my personal bank—JP Morgan Chase. We spoke briefly about a few challenges and issues that current homeowners are faced with post-recession era. Mr. Reynolds also added a few suggestions to potential homeowners that can help them gain a cost effective edge in the housing market. In an effort to provide those financially secure households a smooth and worry-free home buying process that can over compensate their needs. To begin the discussion I should first note Shane Reynold’s journey to the profession of a Mortgage banker. He graduated from Southern Methodist University before taking a job as a medical salesman. After many talks with a friend of his—that was currently a mortgage banker for the same company he would later be employed with—giving his approval for the career choice and the satisfaction he received from customers writing letters of gratitude. For starters, the customer needs to be aware of their credit condition and if they have accumulated an excessive amount of open-lined credit. These two areas can affect the interest rate that you receive resulting in higher monthly mortgage installments. Although no one wants to deals with the stress and discomfort of a financial crisis, JP Morgan Chase has a Mortgage Loan Modification Program designed to restructure a customer’s mortgage payments in an effort to make monthly payments more affordable. Another form of assistance that the bank offers is financial counseling to those individuals who want to regain a sense of security.
