Residential instability is another major area of challenge and concern for men of color when returning home. Impoverished neighborhoods that offenders once lived in before going to jail, they are returning home to those same places. Critical issues that are related to residential outcomes is that the offenders are returning home to their pre-prison neighborhoods after release. They have a higher risk of recidivating, and going through the same encounters.
