Many Filipinos are coffee drinkers. With the popularity of coffee as a beverage comes the cautious effort to lessen the caffeine intake, especially among health-conscious consumers. Hence, the need to introduce alternative drinks that will let people enjoy their favorite beverage without worrying too much about their caffeine intake.
Various studies and research have revealed that coffee has negative effects on individual’s health. Doctors usually advise patients suffering from hypertension to avoid the excessive use of coffee because of its caffeine content, a stimulating drug that whips up the nervous system into further activity. Furthermore, patients suffering from heart disease characterized by a sharp stabbing or crushing pain felt mainly in the chest or shoulder are also advised to give up coffee (Clifford K. Anderson, M.D, 1968).
More significantly, coffee has been found out to have no nutritive value except those that are that obtained from the accessories such as sugar and milk that are served with it.
The focus of the business is to produce an alternative coffee beverage with high nutrition, high quality and without any addictive components or chemicals added. This is not only to eliminate the health risks for coffee enthusiasts but also to promote a nutritive beverage for all, which is the need of every community nowadays because of different ailments arises caused by pollutions, stress, bad consuming habits,etc.
To find a substitute, several researches are conducted by to select the best raw materials needed to produce a coffee. Factors were considered which includes the availability of raw material, price of raw material and most importantly the health benefits can get from the raw material. As a result, researchers found out that Calumpit has number of rice and corn fields. It will be a great opportunity for the proponents to make a coffee beverage from these raw materials. Examinations and taste testing is also done to create the delightful taste of the product.
Corn and rice coffee is not new. In fact, people in the province have been boiling their roasted, ground corn and rice as an alternative to coffee. Currently, with the advent of new technologies and the need for healthy alternative, corn coffee has already reached the mainstream market. It is being commercially sold and is available in the supermarket, one of which is the Sumilao Corn Coffee. It only means that people are already accepted the alternative coffee and maybe with some additional development of the product will mean a great success for the business.

“CRO-FE’ HOUSE’” Cro-fe comes from combined words “crops” and “coffee”. The name was chosen because the focus of the business is to provide the customers a nutritive coffee made from different types of crops such as rice and corns that will definitely give them a feeling of being at home. The name is simple but can hold one’s attention. This is one of the strategic ways of proponents to foster the interest of the prospective customers to buy the product offered by the new business. FORM OF BUSINESS ORGANIZATION Co- Partnership is the form of our business organization. The business associates chose this kind of business organization because it doesn’t need much legal requirements. And with this it will be more effective and efficient when it comes to handling in the business. It is because of the multiple and combined managerial and entrepreneurial skills of the members. The business location would be at Cabanas, Malolos City, beside Camella, because it is landmark wherein many people especially students (High school and College) within and from neighboring area such as Calumpit tend to visit. Different businesses like resto-bar, spa and movie house are already established in the area that makes the place a perfect spot to relax and enjoy. Aside from that, it will be convenient for the proponents to go there for monitoring because it’s about ten kilometer away from the proponents’ residencies. This gives the proponents a great enthusiasm to choose the place.
