...My Vision for the Future. It has been a cruel world lately, where everyone fights for nonsense, no one is satisfied and the good are lost in the world's complicated maze. Therefore, a lot of efforts try to change the world's system and create a better view of life in the minds of all the new yield generations, to replace the ugly picture of the world with a new one that would encourage them to go on. Hope lies in the generations that will grow up someday, when they start to disagree about the way the world is going, they will certainly start to change it. My greatest hope is that this vision of the world's youths comes true, that everyone will fight against everything wrong, corrupted and illegal in this world. I wish that no one remains silent about something unacceptable and disgracing for our world. This is our role and duty. Secondly, I do hope the world will helps us achieve our dreams. This can really happen if only the world becomes a more homogeneous place to live in. We have become like strangers living in a place that does not accept the fact that we are a part of it; neither do we want to accept this...In other words, only a few people fulfil their responsibilities, which is very sorrowful. Protecting the environment has to be something that we all care about. Concerning our responsibilities towards each others, I hope we stick to love and sacrifice as long as we live and try to make them the main theme of our lives. Thirdly,...

...Something Nobody Knows About Me It was another summer holiday and after a year of studies. Personally I had more to look forward to, than just the holiday. I was the winner of a fully paid trip to the southern coast. Everyone envied me and wished they would be in my shoes for a moment. But as for me, it was a different case. Unlike the excitement and joy that people celebrated for my win, I really regretted for participating in the competition, because I had a problem with the prize. My course instructor was excited very much, since she was to accompany me for the trip. I knew she was particularly eyeing the huge sum of money that would be allocated to us on the day of the trip start. Word went round the school and the neighborhood about my achievement. I approached the school authorities and expressed my desire not to take up the trip. They argued that it will be an insult to their sponsors and that I had to go regardless of the situation. Personally I did not want anything to do with water. I was water phobic. I had attended psychiatric lesson to try and end my fear for water. Everyone talked of how fun a holiday at the coast will be, but the single thought of having water around me freaked me out. I came to learn that we had been booked a hotel suit on one of the islands. This was getting even worse. The reason why I believed water was only safe in a glass was the story my mother narrated to me about how we lost my dad in the sea. She told me how I fell out of boat when...

...Running Heads: Attorneys: Inmate gasped, snorted during two-hour execution Attorneys: Inmate gasped, snorted during two-hour execution Business Communications and Critical Thinking 07/22/2014 Attorneys: Inmate gasped, snorted during two-hour execution Firstly, I am against execution because I believe one should not kill for it is stated in the Bible, whether as some may say ‘It’s my job to do so’ or it was a premeditated incident. Furthermore, as for Joseph Rudolph Wood III, whatever heinous crime he committed, in all honesty, he does deserve to be penalized for his crime. His death was definitely punishing and mistreated. I say this because he was lethally injected and to my knowledge he was to die a hurried death. Instead, it took him approximately two hours to die by this effect. No one period, knowing they will be dead anyway would want to fight and have such a long and horrid time to try and catch air and snort and fuss to catch their breath. It was just an unpleasant and despicable way of dying. Imaging just trying your best to grasp for air for such a long period of time, it’s just sounds so grueling. Even for the ones who were witnessing, and moreover Mr. Joseph Rudolph III himself. In addition, the medicine used to perform his execution was from an ‘experiment’. In the article it quotes, "It took Joseph Wood two hours to die, and he gasped and struggled to breathe for about an hour and 40 minutes. We will renew our efforts to get information about the manufacturer...

...Health and Safety Infirmary MGT431 Health and Safety Infirmary/Clinic Proper health and safety protection for both inmates as well as medical personnel should be taking seriously at all times. The Eighth Amendment deals with the ban of cruel and unusual punishment. This gives convicted inmates rights to the proper treatment of health and conditions of a safe environment. Therefore, inmates trust in the prisons infirmary/clinic to take care of these needs. The issue in maintaining the proper health and safety for both inmates and nursing personnel is failure in proper staffing. The facilities have opened rooms and usually provide enclosed rooms to those with severe medical and mental issues. This opens the opportunity for breach of safety for those involved. Though the facilities usually have protected entrances and exits to avoid escape from the clinic itself; this same protection process may make it difficult for correctional officers to help out in an arising threat within the infirmary. Correctional officers do not accompany the nursing staff within the infirmary, but do keep close distance through monitored surveillance from close quarters. Infirmary health and safety issues vary throughout the many prisons. An example of serious violations goes to findings from an investigation completed at the Wyoming State Penitentiary (WSP). During a tour of the prison several noticeable issues were presented...

...Cold hard evidence beats exaggeration in society's mind. Slave were treated like animals throughout the times of being attacked, beat on, and personal issues. Some of them were lack of education, and many broken families around slave communities. Night john gave more of a watered down more theater friendly version of these terrible years in the United States History. All of the hardships presented have been proven historically accurate due to supporting documents and how they corroborate to each other. Although Gary Paulsen's novel Nightjohn, is considered historical fiction, the description broken family structures, harsh restrictions, and cruel and unusual punishment can be corroborated with multiple sources provided by actual slaves at the...

...Abstract On March 3, 2010, plaintiff Tera M. Bruner-McMahon, as Administrator of the Estate of Terry Albert Bruner, filed a complaint for civil rights violations in the United States District Court for the District of Kansas against defendants Marque Jameson and Mary Staton. The complaint alleged claims arising out of the death of Terry Albert Bruner while he was incarcerated in the Sedgwick County Jail. Plaintiff contended that the death was a result of defendants’ deliberate indifference to Terry Albert Bruner’s serious medical needs. Defendants denied liability. The problem in question is the violation of the eighth amendment. Where the eighth amendment is that excessive bail shall not be required, no excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted. A jury trial was held from February 22, 2012 through March 5, 2012. The jury returned a verdict on March 5, 2012 in favor of defendants. The court entered judgment on March 6, 2012. Introduction In the beginning of the case the plaintiff and defendant lawyers provide their opening statements. ...suitable location for reintroduction. After the reintroduction, the numbers of gray wolves throughout the region soared. At the end of December 2011, numbers in Yellowstone reached an estimated 328 wolves, which included 48 packs and 27 breeding pairs. Outside of Yellowstone, numbers were estimated at 224, with 36 packs and 19 breeding pairs. (WGFD, 2013) These numbers are significantly higher than the required number to keep wolves off of the Federal Endangered Species List. Wolves in Wyoming are considered dual classified by state management. In the Northwest region of the state, gray wolves are considered and managed as “Game Trophy Animals”. This essentially means hunters are required to have a wolf-hunting license and may only harvest wolves during the season. Once a designated number of wolves have been harvested, as determined by Wyoming’s Game and Fish Department (WGFD), the hunt season in that specific area is closed. Every hunter who harvests a gray wolf is required by state law to report the kill to WGFD within 24 hours, as well as turn in the skull for biological study purposes, within 10 days. In the remainder of Wyoming, gray wolves are classified as predatory animals. Any animal listed by state management as a predatory animal may be killed at any time, for any reason. They are required to report the kill to WGFD within 10 days, but are encouraged rather...

...Today we are going to discuss a game that we will release in this summer. Let’s take a look at some statistics about the age of gamers and the most popular kind of game White hat http://www.avforums.com/forums/news/1519935-what-type-video-gamer-you-survey-reveals-7-types.html 49% of all respondents play puzzles and quiz games – the most popular type of game · 30% of respondents favor social networking games – the second most popular type of game . 25 to 45 year olds are identified as having the most number of players (44%) compared with 45 to 65 year olds (33%) and 16 to 24 year olds (23%) with the least amount. According to those statistics, I assume that our target will be adult and puzzle – quiz will be theme games Red hat In my opinion, puzzle – quiz games are not practical. It’s very boring and easy to make gamers feel dizzy. Therefore, those games will not be suitable for our target customers who need to relax after hard-working time. In summer, people are looking for something romantic and attractive. Therefore, RPG – Role-playing games is the best choice for this summer, especially fighting games Yellow hat I also agree with red hat. Fighting games are not only for men but also for women. Some fighting games don’t conttain element of blood, wound or death. Therefore, it still appropriate for women. Sailor moon is one example. Furthermore, some fighting games teach us about morality. Particularly, some games’ plot talk about hero/heroine battle...

...Video games, amongst other forms of media, are being blamed for the violent actions of children and adolescence. “Movies and television entertain with realistic and bloody dramatizations of murders, beatings and tortures. Warlike video games have become a popular part of culture, and children routinely watch cartoons that depict violent events” (Earles, Alexander, & Johnson, 2002). The controversy and debate argues whether or not this claim is true. One side of the claim states that video games are genera lly harmless, a popular form of entertainment enjoyed by individuals of varied ages and origi ns. Regardless the popularity or the nature of the game, the individuals playing the game should understand that it is a fictitious scenario and should be treated as such. In addition, cens orship ratings have helped identify the appropriate audience for each individual game but as is the case with cigarettes and alcohol, it is not always adhered. Opposition claims state the cruel and bloody dramatizations have instilled images that have affected the minds of children. These effects have influence children to act violently often reenacting scenes and scenarios from certain video games. In addition, supplemental claims state that the lack of parental supervision and presence adds to the extremity of the violent acts. In terms of research analysis, quantitative statistics claims, “Youth violence results in considerable physical, emotional, social, and...

...In an aggressive struggle to gain possession of a loose basketball, a flagrant elbow from the forward guarding her impacted her jaw with such force that she was knocked off her feet, and in a cruel twist of fate, she received another blow, cracking her head off the solid floor so that it created a giant bounce, neck seemingly directionless like the ball she was so motivated to grab. A concussion, no doubt, would be the diagnosis, but as my mother and I walked anxiously to interrogate the athletic trainer about her symptoms and possible treatments, we would never have predicted how deeply the brain injury would influence my sister’s life. My mother and I were beginning to quiz each other on aspects of concussions when the athletic trainer opened the door into the hallway and permitted us to enter. My sister was perched on the examination table, feet swinging as she tucked her sweaty white jersey into her shorts, geared to rush into...

...Everyone on the island inevitably presents aggression, however the most cruel characters, such as Jack and Roger show their aggression violently. Their aggression comes from superiority and the fear of not being powerful on the island. Jack's way of coping is apparent since the beginning of the book. Once Jack had found a way to take his aggression out by hunting, it quickly turned into an act of violence. He feels “proud and yet twitched” (p.73) at the thought of his kill, which makes him even more eager for violence. Similarly, Roger’s loss of hope and “delirious abandonment”(200), caused him to lash out, killing Piggy. Following in the footsteps of the more violent boys, the younger kids give “simple obedience” (179) to the older kids as they would to their parents or higher authorities. They exhibit this obedience...

...Football, to me, is more than just a game. I have probably learned more valuable lessons from it than from school. When I joined the team freshman year, I didn’t realize what I was getting into. Even though I had been playing since fourth grade and knew it was hard work, nothing would prepare me for the effort I would put into football that year. We worked all summer in the weight room and ran on the track to get in physical and mental shape before the season. See, football is more of a mental sport than anything else, so running on the track wasn’t only about getting in shape. We would push our minds by running as hard as we could even if we felt like we were going to pass out. At the beginning, I was immature and only thought of myself, sometimes even giving up when I was tired or hurting. Then after the third game I had a season-ending injury. Imagine working all summer and then only being able to play three games! I needed surgery on my arm and at least five months to recover. Needless to say, I was sidelined for the rest of the season, but this actually helped me realize that since you never know when your last play will be, you should try your hardest in football and life. After freshman year I decided that I would always give my best effort. Playing varsity football has taught me so much more than just what my assignments are on a particular play or how to block. I have learned to think about others first, and realized how important working hard is...

...sports movies that I have ever seen. Matter of a fact it is one of the most inspiring movies that I have ever seen altogether. It is about a baseball player named Roy Hobbs, whose main goal in the movie is to become the best baseball player to ever play the game. It starts out with Roy throwing with his dad at their farm when Roy was a young kid. Then it jumps to a scene where it shows Roy’s dad dying of a heart attack under the tree that is in their front yard. Then it has Roy standing in front of his window one night just looking at the tree when a streak of lightening came down and struck the tree splitting it into two pieces. Now Roy took part of the tree and made a bat out of it and called it Wonderboy. Then it jumps to where Roy is at the age of just getting out of high school and it shows him talking to his girlfriend at the time, whose name was Iris. He was telling her that he had talked to a team out of Chicago and that he had a tryout with the team. As the movie goes a long, it shows him getting on a train with his agent, or the guy that found him and got his tryout, but also on the train it has a guy named Whammer on the train that is supposed to be the best baseball player that was ever going to play the game of baseball. So they stop at a carnival to enjoy their time and during this time Roy’s man that found him and another guy that was with the Whammer on the train made a bet with each other. The bet was that Roy could not strike the Whammer out on three straight...
