CSHEF Foundation Forums Bring Community Together

Do you know how to estimate the market value of your home? Have you heard about compelling trends in our local real estate market? These are just some of the interesting facts that were discussed at the recent Foundation Forum titled “Your Taxes, Your Schools and Your Property Value" hosted by the Cold Spring Harbor Educational Foundation (CSHEF). One of the CSHEF's goals is to educate our community and better inform our residents about issues that affect us. CSHEF’ first Foundation Forum brought together three speakers who educated residents about how to maintain their property investment. First, Tom Calabrese, COO Daniel Gale, spoke about our local real estate market and how great schools contribute to the desirability of an area. Next, Willets Meyer, a tax grievance attorney at Farrell Fritz, discussed the nuances of how to be your own property value advocate. Rounding out the panel was Patricia Marcin, a trusts and estates attorney at Farrell Fritz, who touched on how to manage your estate through charitable giving. Patricia is also a Founding member of the CSHEF and shared how contributions to our Educational Foundation would help make a difference.

The next CSHEF Foundation Forum “Creating New Pathways to Learning ” is scheduled for November 6th at 7pm at the CSH Library. We will be hosting the District Administration along with a recently hired Ed Tech Consultant, Bruce Friend. Together they will roadmap where we are today, where we are going and the path to the continued transformation of learning that is already happening in our classrooms. There will be a question and answer opportunity as well. So, please join us for this critically impactful discussion on the future of our schools.
