Culture is a broad concept, its limit is wide, literal meaning speaks about intellectual activities of minds when focused or reflected on a screen like society, the display/demonstration when produce a particular contribution to the aid of the then civilization, the whole exposition contribute to what we call culture. Culture of mind leads to research, results, culture of civilization shows the development of a society through evolution.
The Sanskrit meaning of culture is to do something good to the universe with acute touch with passage of time supporting evolution. In context of the present topic we need to relate to that area of Bishnupriyas. Culture which drove enhanced the clan to attain a special honour, name and fame before the culture of eyes of the world.
Culture has been described as custom, achievements etc. of a particular civilization.
In Bishnupriyas, the word culture is known as Ruhibritti. Ruhibritti is a combination of two Sanskrit words derived from the roots Ruh – (to grow , to increase), bit – (to exist, to live on). Thus the word Ruhibritti encompasses all knowledge, beliefs, customs and other capabilities that we acquire as our social heritage. The Bishnupriya community is an ancestor worshippers and they believed Ibudhou (great, great, great grandfather).
Culture encompasses all capabilities and habits acquired by a man as member of the social heritage and depends entirely on the society and not on the individuals.
The Bishnupriya Society is, indeed, colourful. The Bishnupriya use the terms of significance rather frequently in their social introduction among themselves. The name of the Lokei. And these Lokeis are given the identification by the name of the Gotros. Name of the Gotros are Mohugoilo, Atrayo, Ongroish, Beyagro, Bododajo, etc. And each Lokei is divided into many Dhapa (clan) system
