Nobody and dignity, self-abasement and servility, prudence and understanding, insolence and vulgarity, are reflected in the face and in the attitudes of the body whether still or in motion. While we speak with our vocal organs we converse with our whole bodies. Body language plays a very important role in both communication of daily lives and intercultural communication. However, in the past time, the attention paid to body language is not enough. Due to the cultural differences between China and west, differences in the meaning of body language exist. Often dating means no more than getting to know one another and having some fun. It is often the beginning of a friendship with someone whom you may like but not necessarily marry. Dating is not as serious in America as it is in some countries, but it is important because every person has the freedom to choose his own marriage partner, one with whom he hopes to spend the rest of his life. Dating is one way to accomplish that goal. Where do most Americans go...

...it was launched in 2011 via several media forms: TV, internet and print, the focus of my analysis would be on the print campaign. Gucci products are held in high esteem by its target audience and caters to a particular high end segment in most countries. It is not what you would consider to be a mass retail brand, very little adaptation is done, if any, across different markets. Gucci is associated with success, class, sophistication and exclusivity worldwide, its brand strength is quite appealing and people are willing to pay a premium price for a perceived premium product. Gucci products are standardised across the globe. I am going examine the intercultural issues of this campaign such as, tastes, customs and norms of Italy the home country and China their largest market in Asia and the strategies implemented in these territories in order to achieve the desired goal and the possible positive/negative effects of the approach used. Even though the Gucci ‘Cruise’ campaign was standardised across borders in terms of product and price it was interesting to see the shift away from their traditional standardised method of advertising and promotion in so far as different print adverts were shot for...

...Ltd. expansion project to expand in three different areas internationally can really raise productions. The focus of consumer electronics is a great area to specialize in depending on the area of focus. In this proposal the paper give the pros and cons of expanding and buying a company in Australia, Italy, and China. The goal is to make global competition an advantage for Dorchester and the best way to do this is by tapping into markets and labor supplies across international borders. China China is the fastest growing emerging market and one of the largest economies on the globe (Torres, 2011). This country has a market of 1.5 billion people, and the entrepreneurial economy that they offer helps expand businesses quicker. China expansion increase of about 9 percent last year and China’s purchasing power is ranked second in the world, right behind the United State (Torres, 2011). This country’s economy is very diverse and they have a huge market for American made products and services across all industries. China also has special economic zones, which helps foreign investment with more liberal trading rules and tax incentives. Because high technology is a key industry in China, it would be easy for Dorchester to receive lower land prices, exemptions from tariffs and other tax breaks when establishing its existence. This is the case because the Chinese government has a financial package incentive set up for this and other industries to aid foreign countries to become more global...

...Compare two countries In this essay I am going to concentrate on clear contrasts between Albania and Italy- one of the countries from central Europe. These countries have different population, food, area. However, one may find their natural environment similar- in both countries there are politics, seas, and other components. When you think about the two countries- Albania and Italy, you may find them completely different at the first glance. During World War II beside Nazis, Albania was also under Italian regime and I might say that there everything started. Every single citizen of Albania as a second language has Italian, they are also into Italian fashion, and they mostly prefer Italian food rather than Albanian one. Due to the strategic geographical position Albania was always seen as a country that everyone could benefit from. Albania is quite a small country with a population of 4.1 million, basically equal to one main city of Italy. Albania officially is known as the Republic of Albania, it is situated in Southern Europe. It borders with Montenegro to the northwest, Kosovo to the northeast, the Republic of Macedonia to the east and Greece to the south and southeast. It has a coast on the Adriatic Sea to the west, and from the Ionian Sea to the southwest. It is less than 72 km (45 mi) from Italy, across the Strait of Otranto which links the Adriatic Sea to the Ionian Sea. Meanwhile Italy with 60.6 million inhabitants, it is the fifth most populous country in Europe, and...

Cultural background influences several aspects of human behaviour, including the behaviours of consumers. In marketing, individual cultural differences affect consumers’ choice as well as their response to advertising message and brand associations. One example, impact on consumer choice, is related to the country of origin (COO) of the product. The effect of COO has been extensively explored in the literature. However, cultural frameworks like those of Hofstede (2001) have seldom been considered as a factor explaining the variability of consumers’ preference (or avoidance) for products originating in different...

...Investors will tend to take into consideration some important factors before deciding to invest in a foreign country. These factors may vary between the function and efficiency of local market, trade policy and privatization policy, the rules and regulations pertaining to the entry and operations of foreign investors (1) Considering the fact that firms which engage in FDI face different difficulties like additional costs for operating at distance or costs of uncertainty, there can be some support for John Dunning’s (1977, 1981) eclectic paradigm which states 3 that the investment will take place if the firm has three advantages: Ownership advantages, location advantages and internalization advantages. Possessing all three of them will allow a company to perform better that the local competitors. Natuzzi should relocate production because it wants to reduce costs and the best way to do that is to invest in a lower labor cost country. Thailand can be considered one of the most attractive locations because is like a gateway to Asia- home to nowadays largest growing economic market. The country can also offer trade with China or other member countries of ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations). Thailand has advantages in terms of transport costs to the U.S. market. Producing here is equivalent to producing in China in terms of distance between U.S. and Asia but productivity of labor is a lot higher in Thailand although labor cost is a disadvantage. As Natuzzi sells its products...

By focusing and comprehending these topics, individuals and firms will help future international business economically and politically between countries. There are multiple countries and regions that practice international business. I will discuss several regions and islands within the Atlantic Ocean, and its emphasis on international business. There are several islands located throughout the Atlantic Ocean. Most of the large islands, such as such as the British Isles, Greenland, Newfoundland, and the main islands of the Greater Antilles, were once connected with the continents. Other islands, especially those far out at sea, were formed by successive eruptions of volcanic material far below the water's surface. Examples of such islands in the North Atlantic Ocean are the Faeroe Islands, the Azores, Madeira, the Canary Islands, the Cape Verde Islands, and Sao Tome. Islands of the South Atlantic include St. Helena, Ascension Islands, Saint Peter, Tierra del Fuego, and many more. Since there are so many islands located in the Atlantic Ocean, I will only discuss three of the primary islands...

...University. This article is the product of the Olin Institute's project on "The Changing Security Environment and American National Interests”. THE NEXT PATTERN OF CONFLICT WORLD POLITICS IS entering a new phase, and intellectuals have not hesitated to proliferate visions of what it will be -- the end of history, the return of traditional rivalries between nation states, and the decline of the nation state from the conflicting pulls of tribalism and globalism, among others. Each of these visions catches aspects of the emerging reality. Yet they all miss a crucial, indeed a central, aspect of what global politics is likely to be in the coming years. It is my hypothesis that the fundamental source of conflict in this new world will not be primarily ideological or primarily economic. The great divisions among humankind and the dominating source of conflict will be cultural. Nation states will remain the most powerful actors in world affairs, but the principal conflicts of global politics will occur between nations and groups of different civilizations. The clash of civilizations will be the battle lines of the future. Conflict between civilizations will be the latest phase of the evolution of conflict in the modern world. For a century and a half after the emergence of the modern international system of the Peace of Westphalia, the conflicts of the Western world were largely among princes -- emperors, absolute monarchs and constitutional monarchs attempting to expand their bureaucracies...
