It was reported that thieves stole massive amounts of credit and debit card information during the holiday season which also swept up names, addresses and phone numbers of their customers, information that could put victims at greater risk for identity theft. The Problem The Target breach is ranked as one of the worst ever. During the peak of the holiday season that year Target said that up to 40 million customers’ credit/debit card information had been stolen from people who shopped in their stores from November 27 to December 15. That following Friday that’s when another 70 million customers were affected, some of who, might have had their personal information compromised as well. Cyber criminals gained access to the computers entity and steered the information to a server in Eastern Europe to eventually sell on the black market card. Postmodernism is a analytical theory that is used to compare and evaluate articles, novels, and other literary sources. For instance, the classification of gay vs. straight with Arjie and his family is a direct example of postmodernism in the novel, Funny Boy. In similarity, Sinhalese vs. Tamil is another comparison that represents the anger of Ammachi towards Anil. Funny Boy follows a protagonist, Arjie, who has yet to find his true identity but continues to build different relationships with different characters. The story elaborates on the civil war between the Tamil and the Sinhalese which has a deep connection with the different relationships created throughout the story. These relationships; gay and straight, Tamil and Sinhalese, old and youth are what could be analyzed with the literary device, postmodernism. In the novel, Arjie begins narrating the story as a young Tamil boy who finds himself different from his entire family and his friends. Fukunaga, a film graduate from New York University, also attended a French university and carries a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of California at Santa Cruz. During his studies and New York University, he made a short film titled Victoria Para Chino, a film about a group of immigrants who died in a refrigerated trailer when immigrating to America; The inspiration behind Sin Nombre came from that short film. The film follows both a young gangster of the Mara Salvatrucha gang, Casper, and young girl from Honduras, Sayra, on their difficult journey to America.
