The moment I walked into the gym for tryouts my eighth grade year, I could sense that it was going to be a very intense week. My first impression of the whole colorguard scheme was hard routines, mean girls and a lot of blood, sweat and tears. My impression was put into a whole new perspective once I officially made it into the Cumberland High School Color Guard. I realized that the girls were less intimidating once you got to know them and that they were absolutely great leaders and that they made learning the routines much less stressful. However, the only thing that didn't change was the fact that I would have to put my blood, sweat and tears into colorguard and looking back on all of it now, I wouldn't have wanted to have it any other way.
