Brief History of the Naira
The naira note was introduced on the 1st of Jan. 1973, replacing the British Pound at two Naira to a Pound. This made Nigeria the last State to abandon the British currency system. The currency denominations released by the CBN were 50kobo, 1, 5, 10 and 20 naira and coins of ½, 1,5,10 and 25kobo. On the 11th February, 1977 a new bank note denomination of the value of 20 naira was issued. Then N20 note was the highest denomination and also the 1st currency to bear the portrait of a Nigerian citizen – the late Head of state, General Murtala Muhammed. On the 2nd of July, 1979, new currency notes of three denominations – N1,N5 and N10 were introduced In 1991, both the 50k and N1 notes were coined. In December 1999, November 2000, April 2001 and October 2005, N100,N200,N500 and N1000 were introduced respectively. On the 28th of February 2007, N50,N20,N10,N5,N1,50k were reissued with a new design, while a new denomination N2 coin was introduced.

Extracts from A. vera are widely used in the cosmetics and alternative medicine industries, being marketed as variously having rejuvenating, healing, or soothing properties. There is, however, little scientific evidence of the effectiveness or safety of Aloe vera extracts for either cosmetic or medicinal purposes, and what positive evidence is available is frequently contradicted by other studies Two 2009 reviews of clinical studies determined that all were too small and faulty to allow strong conclusions to be drawn from them, but concluded, "there...

...Unit 3 citizenship & diversity task 4 Three out of four male prisons accommodate over double the amount of inmates they are designed to hold, in fact most inmates have to double up, which means that two people have to share a one man cell (6ftx10ft) with an unscreened toilet at the end of the bunk beds, they also receive minimal ventilation. The most over-crowded prison in the UK is the Armley prison in Leeds; it is meant to hold 669 prisoners but currently contains 1218 inmates, because of the inmates being crowded it is causing multiple problems, the first of which is that last year alone there was 84 suicides in prison which was confirmed by the ministry of justice, the second problem is that the inmates are rioting causing havoc for the prison officers fearing for their lives and also causing thousands of pounds worth of damage to the prisons, thirdly because of the first two problems the media misinterpret this causing the public opinions on prison officers to be overwhelmingly negative, because of this less of the public will want to become a prison officer causing the prison staff to be lower than it should be. Because of the recent terror attacks in Paris a lot of countries have been on high alert of terror attacks, especially Britain, civilians are petrified of these “inevitable” attacks and because of this it is causing the public to become racist towards the Muslim population of this country thinking it was these ordinary British civilians that committed these...

Current Affairs Term Paper

...CURRENT AFFAIRS AND HISTORICAL CONNECTIONS My view of studying history is that it is important for future generations to know where their ancestors have been and what they have accomplished in order to make future changes and developments in a society. I feel that without studying American history most industries would not be able to grow to meet the demands of modern day needs. Take for instance the computer industry and it’s progression in the last 40 years. My laptop that I’m writing this paper with has as much power, if not more than the computers used to put a man on the moon. That would not be possible if manufacturers did not look at ways to improve what they already have developed, which means they have to look back at what they have created in the past. Among other important reasons for studying American History would be subjects such as labor laws and social security. We as a society want to live better lives and improve the quality of our lives and so by looking at the past we can make changes in the future to benefit our future generations. In my view without studying history there would be no progressive future. I think many people have a negative view on studying history because they can’t seem to find a connection to how history relates or affects their lives. I believe that anyone can find something interesting to study in history. It’s just a matter of finding a way for them to connect with a subject on a personal or professional level. Maybe someone does...

...P2 - Describe the chain of command for one public service, including its uniform structure Chain of command for the Fire and Rescue Service Helmet | Role | Role Collar Markings | | Fire Fighter | | | Crew Manager | | | Watch Manager | | | Station Manager | | | Area Manager | | | Brigade Manager | | | Deputy Brigade Manager | | | Assistant Brigade Manager | | Uniform structure Originally the first fire tunic was based on a “lancer” uniform with epaulettes and the rank marking based on cavalry insignia. The uniform itself “consisted of 12.5mm bars, horseshoes, straps and different thickness of chain mail.” Eventually during the 1960′s it was changed and the undress uniform insignia was used on “fire tunics”. When the next uniform was introduced it had no epaulettes consequently cloth ranks markings were used so that there was no need to puncture the water proof material. However the Fire and Rescue Services now fix the rank markings to the collar of their uniforms except were formal undress uniforms are used and then they use the epaulettes. Describe how the chain of command works within the a service The chain of command is essential within all uniformed public services in particular it is essential for the Fire Service. One reason for this would be discipline as it is necessary within a service like this because there isn’t time for people to argue or discuss how they’re going to complete a job. If a team of fireman were going at an...

Assignment 2 Current and Media Affairs

...Identify the methods used in the regulation and self-regulation of the media in the UK Regulation is a compulsory part of modern media. It sets clear instructions on the content and conduct of things that are being shown to the general public. Self-regulation is when the media are independent from the state in that they regulate their own material, and decide what viewers should see and not see. How is the media regulated? Here in the UK, the government has absolutely no power over what the media publish. From 1990 to 2014, media was regulated by the Press Complaints Commission, which was replaced by the Independent Press Standards Organisation. These bodies are entirely independent from the government. This is one of the messages on the homepage of the IPSO: "IPSO is committed to working with the newspaper and magazine industry to maintain and enhance the freedom and authority of the press through effective, independent regulation." When an independent organisation regulates the media, bias is not so much of an issue as it would be otherwise. Standards are set by the regulating body, and media outlets have the obligation as part of the media, to cooperate and follow them. When a company breaches the standards that have been set, the IPSO will conduct it's own independent investigation into whether the allegation is true. The IPSO works on democracy; the majority of newspapers and other media outlets support it, so therefore there is no resistance to it's successful...

After reviewing a second CRA on the internet, an employer and employee confirms that a sexual or romantic relationship between employees is consensual and voluntary. (Bloomsbury Business Library, 2007) In analyzing the case, Consensual Relationship Agreements, the following categories will be addressed: (1) Argue for the use of Consensual Relationship Agreements in Your current (or future) Workplace; (2) Create a counter argument against the use of CRAs in your current (or future) workplace; (3) Discuss the ethical principles involved in the use of CRAs; and (4) Create at least one (1) other option besides CRAs that would address workplace romances. Businesses worry most about two things, that's profits and litigations. Written into most companies employee handbook is explicit rules on sexual harassment. ...April 2013 Current Affairs Study Material INTERNATIONAL China, Russia, Pakistan discuss Afghanistan situation Officials from China, Russia and Pakistan on 3 April 2013 held talks on the issue of coordination between their positions on Afghanistan. The officials from three nations backed the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) that is grouping to play a great role in Afghanistan after the withdrawal of NATO Forces in 2014. These talks were held to enhance coordination. The talks followed a similar meeting India, China and Russia held in Moscow recently, reflecting the delicate balancing act — and increasingly complicated regional dynamics — as different countries look to push their interests in the lead up to 2014.
