Current Ethical Issues Paper As I went through the website Virtual Organization to figure out what fictional organization I was going to pick, there were so many from business to education, from healthcare to government there were so many choices but I finally came to my decision and the organization that I decided to use to create my Ethical Organization Profile will be Huffman Trucking. In picking Huffman Trucking I found during the research that this would be something that would interest me because my husband to be is off getting his CDL license and the story’s he tells after watching videos on how to operate the truck and knowing what is what and where everything is. See we on the outside world may feel aw it’s so easy to drive those heavy trucks but we don’t realize from the inside out how much it takes to be able to drive an eighteen wheeler or a bus of anything of the sorts. I was told that those trailers on the back of the truck are 4,000 pounds and they are very heavy. So in learning this there is certain spend you are allowed to travel in when driving these trucks or you will tip over. Huffman Trucking was founded by a native named K. Huffman from Cleveland, Ohio in 1936. The company started as a single tractor- trailer but the growth sky rocketed due to the results of World War II which increased the demand for carrier services between factories in the Midwest to ports on the East Coast (virtual organization, 2011). By 1945, everything increased by size such as tractors and trailers. As Huffman Trucking continues, the growth and sales of five eastern regional carriers will allow Huffman Trucking to continue being held privately. Huffman Trucking just like any company plans to continue to be a success, continue being a more competitive logistical services business environment. The company’s vision is to be a perfect example for their customers,

These issues are if a grievous nature and will be described in the following paragraphs. Please pay close attention to what is being discussed, as any transgressions after this report will be dealt with severely. The major focus is on employee reviews. ...am Scam and Ethics Running head: ETHICAL ISSUES IN SATYAM SCAM 1 A Study of Ethical Issues in Satyam Scam Haresh M Patel (Roll No.2234) B.K.School of Business Management (Evening Programme) ?Ethical Issues in Satyam Scam Abstract “Reputation is an idle and most false imposition: oft got without merit, and lost without deserving”. Failed institutions, including Lehman Brothers, Enron and Satyam, would stand a testimony to this affray in a post-mortem analysis. This paper discusses corporate ethical issues involved in ‘Satyam Scam’ from a compliance perspective. It makes a distinction between legal and ethical compliance mechanisms and also shows that the legal compliance mechanism has clearly proven to be inadequate as it lacks the moral firepower to restore confidence and the ability to build trust. The concepts of freedom of indifference and freedom for excellence provide a theoretical basis for explaining why legal compliance mechanisms are insufficient in 2 dealing with fraudulent practices and may not be addressing the real and fundamental issues that inspire ethical behavior. The focus of the virtues in governance is to establish a series of practical responses which depend on the consistent application of core values and principles as well as commitment to ethical business practice. In my opinion, No one makes it to the top ranks of corporate management without a healthy amount of self-assurance. Confidence underlies decisive, strong leadership, but does overconfidence...

First and foremost, were the underlining symptoms of the declined market value of the company, thus leading to the decreasing stock value. From my experience with working in corporate arena, the decrease in market or stock value leads to pressure and concern being placed on the company’s stockholders and executives. There is a sense of urgency to identify the problems that lead to the change in the market value and the possible solutions. Secondly, being in the telecommunications industry, there are several competitor companies. So in an effort to keep their competitive edge, Global Communications was faced with the problem of determining how to keep up and compete against competitive companies.
