1.2. Describe, with an example, how different aspects of development can effect one another.

In general, if a child is behind in his communication and language development this would affect his/her social development and may cause the child to experience difficulty in interacting with other children. It could also lead to frustration and aggression. When a child has language and communication delays, he/she may not be able to express their needs which will feed into their social skills ability with all development areas linking to one another.

e.g. Children with Autism have difficulty in relating to other people. They can’t express their own or understand others’ feelings, thoughts and needs. This leads to communication and social skills. They also find it difficult to …show more content…
Children who have delays in their expected milestones can be aggressive or have tantrums. For example, when a child has language and communication delays, they may not be able to express their needs. Children with language delays may not interact with other children, therefore their social development may be affected. If the child doesn’t have adequate fine motor skills, this effects and delays their handwriting skills. Once recognised that a child is behind in their expected progress, we can refer them to professionals who can help them to progress by putting strategies and interventions in place, for example, speech and language, the motor skills (fine-gross). If necessary, after a child has been diagnosed with an illness, a team can be formed to help the child to improve their skills and progress. If a child is diagnosed with ADHD, we can liaise with the parents and other health professionals such as an educational psychologist to help the child progress. Early intervention is important so that the child is not going to be behind their expected developmental
