L.O. Old houses After Miss Macdonald explained about the topic, I handed all the work sheets. There was two pictures of different houses and the teacher asked all children to describe them. Miss Macdonald told me that I should support a group of students and child L. Before starting I spoke to Miss Macdonald (class teacher) about special aids and equipment which we use for him. As we know child L has language and speech disorder and we use Sound Mat and My Tricky Words Strip for him because most of the time we encourage child L to do his work in the group and I notice when we use these equipments he feels more confident and try his best. I asked him how can you describe this house. He said:”big” I said well done that’s correct. Now write this word, he wrote “p” instead of” b” and I showed “b” on the sound mat and asked him “b” like what he said bird. I also demonstrated the sound of” b” by my mouth and I wrote “b” on my white board and after that I asked him to write a few times. We carried on and used Sound Mat for other words like garden, space, windows, tiny dark, small, narrow. In this activity I supported child L by using special aids and he was enable to participate in a group work, because during this activity child L tried to speak to other pupils in our group about the picture of houses and he finished his writing like other students. what’s more, when Miss Macdonald saw his notebook, she was so pleased and praised
