DMACC has a strict policy on academic misconduct, such as plagiarism, cheating and academic dishonesty. If you are caught doing any of these things, you will be punished. There are five sanctions that could happen. The first sanction is the instructor may change your grade in the class or possibly fail you for any portion of the course. The second sanction can be imposed if the student accepts responsibility for the violation. The student could be found responsible by the College Judicial Hearing Board. The third sanction is the College Judicial Hearing Board determine the change in the grade. The new grade could be lower, same or higher than the original grade.
