Dare To Read Research Paper

Dare to read? This paper is not for the reader who is looking for an easy read. This paper will challenge the reader and ask the reader to think “outside” the box on a very important topic. Change needs to take place. This will not be a simple decision; meditating and cud-chewing on this topic will be a start for this path headed for a better, revolutionized era. In fact, it starts with a “voice”. A good example of a “voice” for public awareness is Candy Lightner. “Her daughter was tragically killed by a drunk driver who was a repeat offender. Her pain and loss drove this mom to be a “voice” and “raise public disapproval of drunk driving with the reduction of drunk driving traffic fatalities” (Hanson PH.D.). Her “voice” turned into …show more content…
She has to carry the child; it is her body that will be changing; so it should be her decision only. The woman does not have to ask for permission or listen to any input from the man who was a part in creating this child. It has always been the woman’s choice from the start of abortion. Why would anyone want to change something that has been continuing without any issues? The opposing side does not see a need for change. It has been working all this time with no or small resistance. This side is focused only on a one-sided part of the entire picture. So, I beg to differ on their close-minded decision. A door needs to open up for change. Albert Einstein quoted, “The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without our thinking” (Einstein, Good Reads/Quotes). This leads me to my first point: freedom of choice. Does not a man has the same equal rights of freedom a woman has? Our nation strives to extend equality to all individuals, no matter their race or beliefs. This nation today has painfully grown from its weakness for equality of every human being and is proudly displaying its changes for every individual’s rights. How many abortions would your estimate happened in the United States alone? Has that thought every even crossed your mind? Ponder on this …show more content…
If a woman chooses to keep a child, she can force financial responsibility from the father by child support. What if the father did not want his child? If the woman decides to keep her child, then the government forces the father to financially support his child, whether he wanted on not wanted the child. So, a father does not have a say in child support if the woman decides to keep the child. I find it interesting that the law forces the financial responsibility of a father but does not want his input of choice on his child. I do believe a man should take care of his responsibilities, whether financially, physically or emotionally. I just find it interesting that a man was not asked his opinion or able to put an opinion regarding his child from the beginning. This shows a conflict and contradiction against our nation’s foundation for equality. Going back to my brother, he was willing to take his first aborted child completely with all the responsibility required in rearing the child without the girl. He even offered that no child support or obligation would come from her. She would be free and clear from his child. Why was not my brother’s voice

However, they don not stress too much on discipline and hard working. Zhao and Bai said in Draw inspiration from comparing that Chinese and Western education should learn from each other (1999, p. 46). Malala Yousafzai

...Malala Yousafzai the Influential Communicator and Education Activist Abstract This paper is about an amazing 17 year old girl who was shot in the head by the Taliban for championing the right of girls to receive an education. Many have asked “what are the qualities of an inspiring leader?” Research shows that leaders create enthusiasm, empower people, instill confidence and inspire the ones around them. In early 2009, Malala Yousafzai started by blogging about life under Taliban rule and that changed her life forever. Malala Yousafzai the Influential Communicator and Education Activist Malala Yousafzai was born on July 12, 1997 to Tor Pakai Yousafzai (mother) and Ziauddin Yousafzai (father) and into a Sunni Muslim family of Pashtun ethnicity. She grew up in Pakistan’s Swat Valley in a house in Mingora. She has two younger brothers and two pet chickens. Malala was educated largely by her father, who is a poet, school owner, and educational activist who runs a chain of schools known as the Khushal Public School. In 2008 Malala started speaking about education rights when her father took her to Peshawar to speak at a local press club. Cell 16

...Cell-16 James spent hours lying on the bed, trying not to fall asleep. He looked at the alarm clock on the bedside table. It was already 1:47am. Five more hours, James calculated. Five more hours till its morning, and he could finally be safe. He could finally sleep. Everything would be fine in the morning…right? It all started three weeks ago, when James and his friend Gregg went ghost hunting to the Old Melbourne Gaol. They’d heard lots of ghost stories about that place. That was the place where hundreds of people were mercilessly hanged. James and Gregg were sure that they could actually witness something paranormal in a place like that. They even bought all of the ghost hunting equipment that they could manage to pay for, after working multiple part time jobs. Of course, they hadn’t expected the consequences of their ‘little adventure’ to be this dreadful. James rolled over and took a look at the alarm clock once again. It was 2:16 am now. 2:16… 16… He recalled the last cell that he and Gregg had investigated that day…Cell number 16… Both James and Gregg had got an eerie feeling when they’d entered that cell. James quickly readied his EVP recorder, while Gregg filmed the cell. Nothing happened at first. But after spending about half an hour in that cell, strange things started happening. All of a sudden, the flashlight that James was holding started flickering violently. The flashlight then turned off, leaving them both in darkness. This startled and alarmed the both...

Censorship

...Research Paper: Censorship On March 4th 2009, Mary was walking into her living room when she saw her 8 year old daughter was watching tv. Then all of a sudden an extremely explicit sex scene had come up. Her daughter laid in shock as she had never seen something like that before.(Cafemom.com). Censorship is the process of examining books, movies, tv shows, etc and suppressing unacceptable parts. Censorship is a must in this society in order to censor intense racism, pornographic material, and much more from innocent mids such as mary's daughter. Censorship is extremely vital in order to create a safe and peaceful atmosphere within our society. Censorship is basically an official who observes any and all books, film, music, etc for the purpose of suppressing or censor controversial or inappropriate content. As for the status quo on censorship, the officials who control censorship are the FCC and they are given all the power from the government in order to censor all explicit content. And explicit content can be very dangerous to young children with their innocent and gullible minds. Children can be heavily influenced by their surrounding world and with the whole world in the hands of technology, it would be so much easier to view and attempt extremely violent stunts. “Ten-year-old Ryan Gooding has always been an inquisitive and experimental kid, but that's all changed now...Gooding was conducting a little experiment known as the “Flaming Bottle” when something went...

What Does It Means to Be a Christian

...? In some ways being a Christian is easy. Christian is a pupil and friend of Christ, both of these concepts are adjacent, although there are differences. On the one hand, we are disciples of Christ and His followers, and therefore must learn from Him through the Gospel that in which he believes the way he teaches us to live. During its development, Christianity experienced numerous changes, changes in the structure, rituals, views on certain things. As for the ritual, then I think it is worth to consider related to the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and a milestone in the history of Christianity - the emergence of Calvinism and explain its features, its content and the filling, the difference. Meaning of Baptism for us is that if we dare to participate in it, then we are free to live the kind of life that does not apply to death. Instead of living in fear, we are able to love - to love God (it's not as easy as it sounds ), and to love our neighbor ( it's even harder ). Calvinism is the name given to a system of philosophical thought, we have inherited from Jean Calvin. He is recognized as the spokesman of the system, but not the generator of ideas in its foundation. Calvinism is not just a set of ideas shared by Calvin and his followers, but the organic unity with a common root. Calvinism is not limited to theology, is a comprehensive system that includes well-defined views on politics, society, science and the arts. Baptism of Holy Spirit Baptism of Holy...

In the 1970s, Bruno Latour (a French anthropologist and social scientist) and Steve Woolgar (a British sociologist) undertook ethnographic field work at the Salk Institute in California. This research was inspired by grounded theory and Latour and Woolgar approached their study of work in the endocrinology laboratory as if they were anthropologists observing a hitherto unknown and strange set of practices. In other words, they did not fit their observations into any preconceived notions of scientific method, or how science 'should' be done. World Politics

...Hall with me after class, Benny, a sophomore in one of my international relations courses, asked for, and received, some pointers on the required paper. “You’ve just told me to write exactly as I’ve been taught not to write,” said he. “And who, pray tell, taught you?” asked I. He gave an over-the-shouldernod across the street, toward Ellen Reed House--the English Department. "Hmmm. . . fine--I'mnot surprised to hear they tell you something different,” I told him. “The English profs teach you to write in a generic way, say, fiction, or generically expository stuff. I want you to write a social science paper.” With some ”Hmmm-ing” of his own, Benny shuffled off, wearing a mildly annoyed and not altogether convinced frown. How dare they teach different ways to write in different departments at the same college! Benny did make an effort to heed my suggestions, but it took persistence. For example, the introduction to his first draft, included a vague Writing Across the Curriculum, Vol. 11, August 1990 35 36 Writing Across The Curriculum (August 1990) statement like: ”Conflict between Arabs and Black Africans in the Sudan is a serious problem and should be examined in greater detail. . . including its history, causes, and future.” The purpose statement I eventually settled for read more like this: ”This paper will examine social, economic, and political aspects of the Sudanese civil war. The geography and history of the conflict will be briefly reviewed...

Technology

...with the device or gadget, he carries; which is technically advanced. Ultimately, we can say that, “living without technology is like living without air" in this technical world of today. Therefore, we are much dependent on technology. Our lifestyles have changed and still continue to change each time a new invention is created. Among the most influential are wheels, light bulbs, telephones, transportation vehicles, refrigerators, radios, televisions, plastics, and computers. The initial purpose of these inventions were to make work easier to do, be able to see in the dark with electricity, communicate more efficiently and quickly, and move all across the world at a faster pace. I am glad we live in a technological society because we can research items quickly by using the internet; communicate with people from great distances within seconds; and carry large and heavy loads on trucks, ships, and airplanes. With this in mind, are we as a society forgetting how privileged we are and taking our lives for granted?
In the good old days, people were very self-sufficient and created many things from scratch, such as bread, butter, and clothing. Unfortunately, many people today are not taught to do these things because we learn how to operate machinery to do it for us or go buy the item at a store. I bring all of this up because I wonder if we have left ourselves vulnerable to a "cyber-attack". Could our tools be used against us? There are many computer viruses present...
