His brothers darry and soda pop are part of a neighborhood gang and pony boy is the youngest in it. The socs are kind of their rivals and another gang that fights them in the book. Darry the oldest at 20 is like the dad of the book because their dad died in a car wreak and he does all the housework and cooks for them. He is very athletic and every one thinks he is very good looking and smart also he is strong and often very serious. Since his parents died he has taken on the responsibility of taking care of his brothers and h works two jobs and so he is never home much.
Soda or soda pop is the brother at 17 years old they call him Mr personality and he backs that up very well like his brother darry people think he is very handsome and hardworking. He dropped out f high school en no he i very smart he didn't try much in school and it was better just to work to make money for the family. He works at a gas station and says he likes it even no it not hard work for him he likes the girls that come in there and flirt with him. Soda gets into trouble sometimes but darry tries to help him from doing that. …show more content…
They have their troubles through out the way but they help each other and have each others back no matter what. They need to in the book because the socs pic on them and beat them up and if they were not there for each other later in the book pony boy would died drowned and died. This book is very good it has a lot of action and fights which i like the most even if the greasers don't always win. In the end the Outsiders ends up begging a good book and I would encourage anyone who likes action to read
