I started dating in 11th grade. I got asked out by a guy when we had English together. His name was Nathan Stanley. He was great to hang out and talking to him. When he graduated, we have been dating for a year. We were so strong when we were together. He was working to try to make my life better. When I graduated, we hang out more. We wanted to love forever. In the one year and a half, he started smoking. I was trying to make him stop smoking. One girl told me, “He can do anything he wanted.” I told him if you do not stop smoking I will leave you. After two years, he cheated on me with a girl that goes around. He told me that he left me before he dating the girl. After I broke it off, my friend had a fire. I brought my ex-boyfriend hat and …show more content…
We broke up within two weeks from when we started. The reason why I broke up with him because he just wanted to hang out with his friends more than me. I was crying when he agreed to break up. He left me alone when I had no one to help me. My friends came to cheer me up, so we left to get my mind off of heart break. My friends took me to my friend’s farm to go shooting. I brought a picture of Aaron. My friend put the picture of Aaron on a wooded board. the friend gave me a 12guge and told me to shoot the picture. I got the shot and it felt so good that I did. When I was with them, I got over my love for Aaron out and my heart for good. My heart was empty with no one to fill it, but at the end of February 9; Josh contacted me on Facebook. The first thing he ask me on Facebook, and he ask me “hey do you still have a boyfriend, just asking to hang out as friends?” I was confusing why he ask me that question. In February 11, I ask him why did you sent me a message on Facebook. He told me “That his heart was telling, told him to message me on Facebook.” We stay up late talking when we both had a class at eight am. We did not care if we were tired. We talk and talk all day when we were in

Personal Narrative On Line Dating

...I first met Jessica on a on line dating site. We had gone on a few dates and had sex a few times but it was nothing too serious at that point. Jessica was a cute mother of three and was in the process of finishing college. I could tell that she wished for more but I wasn't quite ready to settle down. I was recently out of a 7 year long relationship and wanted to take my time and really see what was out there. One night as I was almost back home after being completely shut down on a crappy coffee date, my cell phone rang. "Hello?" I answered. "Hey!...Jocelyn?" She replied. It was Jessica and she was loaded, I could tell. "Hey! How are you cutie?" I said in my best sexy man voice."One of my girl friends is here and we're drunk! Are you busy?"...

Personal Narrative: Two Years Of Dating

...You were sitting on your bed, arms hugging your legs as you gaze at a blank white wall. The raindrops were pouring, making a soft pit-pat sound on your windows. Your eyes began to form liquids that were soon dripping down your face in a quick second as you reminisce. “I’m okay.” whispering the last words he said before he took his leave just two days ago. You couldn’t believe your eyes, after all these years of dating; he left without an explanation and told you not to worry about a thing. What was the reason after asking him “Are you okay?” after seeing him distress about something and then leaving you in a baffled state for two whole days? Is he ever coming back? As you wiped your tears away, you lay down on your back, putting your arms...

Personal Narrative: The Plight Of Secular Dating

...1 Have you ever experienced deep scar or sorrow from dating? Otherwise, have you ever heard another person’s story about that? Yeah. My last relationship was the eye opener to the plight of secular dating. I was stuck on that girl for almost 2 years. Its hard to let go of something or someone you saw as your only thing to look forward to. I was so depressed without her. Only by coming to Christ was I able to heal. I saw her recently and don;t see her the same at all. Sometimes the thought of me "failing" in my future marriage like I failed in that relationship come to mind, but I'm growing to see that if I'm called to be a husband, I'm called to a great role of redeming my wife. I think this role is very powerful and tough, but Jesus love,...

Personal Narrative-Dating Girls In High School

...He ran his fingers nervously through his short-cropped hair, his face flushed “Sorry, Diane . . . but I have to call it as I see it. Nothing personal, Diane, ‘cause you know how I’ve always felt about you.” “Please, Red, let’s not start that again,” she pouted, not at all anxious to have old memories, especially painful ones, rekindled. She had gone out with Red a couple of times when they were growing up here; of course, he was a lot older, much too old to be dating girls in high school like she was at the time. But Diane was always a bit of a rebel, too high strung for this tiny town. Some of the folks who went to the Baptist church called her a “flirt” and a “man-teaser,” but those kinds of words just rolled off her back because she knew what she was like inside. And that none of those rumors about her were true....

Portfolio: Narrative Analysis

...Second Semester Final Exam: Portfolio A: Narrative/Descriptive Writing Parasailing (Vignette) Narrative and descriptive writing is the writing style I enjoy the most. The vignette I wrote about is a story that happened to me when I was younger and this kind of writing allows me to relive this memory on paper. I find this kind of writing easier to write and easy to relate to because it’s all about me. It is harder for me to write and relate to a book that we read in class since it isn’t about my personal life. This kind of writing style helps me reflect on the something I learned because I have seen how much I have grown this school year based off of what I wrote about and my writing style. This kind of writing style allows me to describe...

Personal Narrative

...Personal Narrative PSY/230 December 1, 2013 Stephanie Munro Personal Narrative The past five years have been a whirlwind of evolution and growth for me. I went from being in a four year relationship to single, then a year and a half later back into a relationship with the man I am going to marry in less than a year. I also went from having a great friendship with someone to finding out I was being used by her. All of the events that occurred in the past five years have brought me to where I am today; a little stronger, a little wiser, and a little happier. I do not truly know what the purpose of my life is, but looking back over the past five years I know that I am a little closer now, rather than back then, to finding out what it is. I find myself to be happier and more positive in my outlook on life. With the upcoming nuptials and impending changes that are coming, one of the biggest changes is that I will be a step-mother; I am excited and very forward-thinking. My fiancé and I have agreed to have more children, and I am trying to convince him to have children sooner rather than later because I know we are ready and I am anxious to build our family. Erik Erikson’s theory of psychosocial development really places where I am today and what I went through to get here. Within the past five years, I moved from the young adulthood stage of life to the mature adulthood. I had defined myself by the previous relationship I was in and when that ended I was lost. Over time,...

The Rental Heart

...The rental heart The rental heart by Kirsty Logan is about a person who is dating a lot of people and gets heartbroken every time they part ways so the main character goes to the heart rental place and rents a new heart to mend their broken heart. Throughout the story we hear about seven different partners, both men and women. The main character is currently dating Grace but looks back to past relationships. We are not told if the main character is male or female, so my interpretation is they could be gender neutral or a woman just like the author, it might be written from personal experience. She dates a lot of people, so she’s desperate for other people’s affection, but she can’t deal with the pain that comes with it, so every time she breaks up with someone she rents a new heart. She’s bisexual because she has partners that are both male and female. We don’t get any information about the setting, but it’s in the future because you can open your chest and switch out your heart for a new one. It’s a first-person narrative so we only see it from the main character's point of view. The rental hearts are a symbol of broken machinery that needs to be replaced, so the broken heart is equivalent to being heartbroken in real life. And opening your chest can be a symbol of opening your heart to other people. The whole story is a symbol of having your heart broken, wishing to replace your heart and to forget bad memories. Her first love was Jacob, and she was very in love with...

Vimy Ridge In Canad Rhetorical Analysis

...little reason to do anything except reinforce the myth of Canada’s birth of a nation on Vimy Ridge. The notion of creating a nation from a myth is hardly a new concept in history, dating back to Augustus’ commissioning of the Aeneid in 27BCE. In fact, the narrative of Vimy Ridge in its current mythical form closely mirrors the format of the Aeneid. Through a heroic expedition and battle, both the Roman and Canadian states begin to take shape. Literary scholars Joseph Farrell and Micheal Putnam describe the Aeneid as a Roman etiology whose “narrative aims at a Roman nation distinct from other nations, particularly from the Trojans with whom it had originated….” If one views the relationship between Canadians the paternal British Empire surrounding Vimy Ridge through this lens that Farrell and Putnam illustrate, the similarities between the Aeneid and Vimy etiologies are eerie. While the nation-building purpose of the myth is clear, one must ask how the myth achieved fame in Canada. While the earlier example of Berton’s Vimy was doubtlessly complicit in establishing the myth’s Canadian ubiquity, there was a pre-existing notion of Vimy as a nation-founding event. Historian Tim cook observes that Berton’s Vimy utilized personal stories of the Canadians that fought at Vimy – those who had a personal stake in the importance of the battle – and thus “retrieved many strands of memory that celebrated Vimy from older Canadians and veterans, and presented them to a new generation.”...

...Not only does the unfortunate Mr. Nuttel fall victim to the story's joke, but so does the reader. The reader is at first inclined to laugh at Nuttel for being so gullible. However, the reader, too, has been taken in by Saki's story and must come to the realization that he or she is also inclined to believe a well-told and interesting tale. Style “The Open Window” is the story of a deception, perpetrated on an unsuspecting, and constitutionally nervous man, by a young lady whose motivations for lying remain unclear. Structure The most remarkable of Saki’s devices in “The Open Window” is his construction of the story’s narrative. The structure of the story is actually that of a story-within-a-story. The larger “frame” narrative is that of Mr. Nuttel’s arrival at Mrs. Sappleton’s house for the purpose of introducing himself to her. Within this narrative frame is the second story, that told by Mrs. Sappleton’s niece. Symbolism The most important symbol in “The Open Window” is the open window itself. When Mrs. Sappleton’s niece tells Mr. Nuttel the story of the lost hunters, the open window comes to symbolize Mrs. Sappleton’s anguish and heartbreak at the loss of her husband and younger brother. When the truth is later revealed, the open window no longer symbolizes anguish but the very deceit itself. Saki uses the symbol...

English language. doi: 10.1386/safm.1.1.65/1 Looking for Love in All the White Places: A Study of Skin Color Preferences on Indian Matrimonial and Mate-Seeking Websites Sonora Jha Seattle University Mara Adelman Seattle University Abstract A preference for light skinned females is a global bias that affects all areas of human relationships, especially in marital mate selection. Further intensified by the meteoric rise in Internet dating and mate selection, this bias often serves an invalidating function for darker-skinned women. This study (1) analyzed ‘profiles’ and ‘preferences’ of brides and grooms (N=200), and (2) coded ‘success story wedding photos’ (N=200) posted on four Indian matrimonial websites. Results showed an overwhelming bias among males for brides lighter-skinned than themselves. Males were also more likely than females to state a preference for skin color in their prospective brides, and to use qualitative words like ‘beautiful’ and ‘lovely’ to describe their preferred match. Most significantly, the ‘success story’ wedding photos consistently had lighter-skinned brides than grooms. Darkskinned women were almost non-existent in these ‘success stories.’ This research points to a technology-abetted intensification of colorism. That is to say that the powerful profile ‘menu’ options and the visual imagery of predominantly...

Uncle Toms Cabin Thesis

...Much of America was overtaken by slavery for nearly two hundred and fifty years, dating back to the 1600’s in Jamestown, Virginia. In the 1850’s, slavery was widespread across the Southern states viewing blacks as inferior, which made the action morally acceptable in their eyes. Within the Compromise of 1850, the Fugitive Slave Act was established, allowing slave catchers to travel into free states to capture runaway slaves and stating that private citizens must assist in capturing the slaves or else they’d be fined or jailed. Harriet Beecher Stowe, American author and abolitionist, found the idea of taking part in such a wrongful system as the one that was put into effect by the compromise, to be completely immoral and wanted nothing to...

Relationship Between Psychological Intimacy and Romantic Jealousy

...Relationship Between Psychological Intimacy and Romantic Jealousy Abstract Most of the research on romantic relationships are emphasizing the roles of psychological intimacy and the generated jealousy evoking behaviors. However, the causal effects of these constructs in relation to jealousy have not yet been examined enough. Some of the factors such as affection, affirmation levels, attachment style, and levels of intimacy play an important role in changing the style of jealousy related behaviors either cognitive or surveillance. Results show that the negative type of jealousy where the emotion of fear, aggressiveness hold to the person’s character may be the reason of perceived threats to the relationship from third parties.
