Day one of Operation 69, located on the range of Vietnam to take down General Form, the leader of the upper bound Vietnam Army. General Form his right-hand man Master Quadrants are responsible for the relation of invading our domain and torturing many citizens with their quadratic functions of Leading Coefficient Test. I am Leuitenant Axis the leader of Alpha I. We are specialized in top secret missions, mostly assasination related. Our Cartesian plane arrived in Vietnam at 20 hundred hours at the lower bound of Vietnam in order to assure noone sees us. 2 hours of sleep, then we head on into the dark towards Descartes Rules of Signs, an underground market that will supply us with standard forms of desguises so we can have the element of surprise.
Janurary 6th.1969
Day three and we have arrived to Descartes Rules of signs and have recieved our desguises have can head to the upper bound to achieve the solution of assasinating our targets. From what the test intervals show, there are many hideouts and many coordinates we would have to search, so I decided to take a risky independent variable in our mission. I decided to split my platoon into ordered pairs to increase our chances of assasinating these power functions. Sargeant Hays and Private Colt will be station on the right orgin of the upper bound, which is a HAM radio station to intercept any important information to keep us updated. Corpral James and Private Skychild will be stationed at the composition armed weapons/food storage to keep all of us supplied at all times. Now Sargeant Vertex and I will take the most dangerous and most risky station, which is the supposely safe house where General Form and Master Quadrants call all the shots. The reason it is the most dangerous is that there is such a long division between us and the air support so we are on our own once we enter.
Janurary 10th, 1969
Day Seven, and still no sign of General Form and Master Quadrants from any stations. The region Sargeant Vertex and I are at is quite unusual, as if everyone is zombified. All the soldiers walk in a Vertical line and there are a multiplicity of them, so it looks more challlenging if they were to find out we were Assasins. One of our main functions as an assasin is to continuously remain in sync with all the other soldiers until the targets come in sight. Now keep an eye out, act like a soldier and wait.
January 11th, 1969
Day eight and Sargeant Hays reported over our ear pieces that General Form and Master Quadrants are on their way to where we are stationed. They were being transported there in an armored vehicle, but the problem was that there were complex numbers of armored vehicled surrounding that one and what I would think an imaginary number of soldiers were guarding those two men. Now what is so important about these two atroucious men? What made them so special? Was it the power or… brain-washing?
Janurary 12th, 1969
Sargeant Vertex and I were going over our tactics after our patrol, we were dicussing the best thing to do was for each of us to get General Form and Master Quadrant one-to-one and away from all the soldiers and guards so it would be an easy two kills. We were also discussing an inverse function if all hell would break loose. Both of us would blow our covers and take them both out on the spot and fight our way out of those critical numbers of guards. Corpral James and Private Skychild will have a stealth plane for evac ready outside the symmetry of the far east upper bound of the station.
January 13th, 1969
General Form and Master Quadrant finally arrive to where we are stationed and they look quite intimidating. They were Two Vietnamese men, about 6 ft 4inches and looks like they could do some critical damage even without weapons. These two men looked powerful and may be the most difficult targets I have faced in a while, maybe even the toughest also. Their size could be a dependant variable in our plan to take them down. Another thing I notice was that General Form and Master Quadrant had a keypad in order to unlock their room. I remember that General Form plugged in a three, something and the repeated zeros. Maybe I can hack it? Either way we attack tomorrow night.
Janurary 15th, 1969
The craziest and unusual thing happened during our assasination yesterday. Sargeant Vertex and I snuck out into the dark after everyone reported to their bunks. We tried sneaking into General Forms and Master Quadrants rooms and they pulled us in by the throat as if they were suspecting us. They injected us with some unusual glowing liquid and we both woke up in a room tied up and the word ‘hyperbola’ written in blood across the dirty gray wall. What could that mean? I really didn’t matter at the time because the two targets were standing right in front of us. They were slapping us around and asking why we were there and told us they blew up the sleath plane waiting for us. We were both shocked but werent ready to back down with out a fight. Sargeant Vertex cut rope but Master Quardrant’s eyes went green (about the same color as the fluid we were injected with) and knocked Sargeant Vertex unconcious. We were both helpless, all I could do was shout curse words at them but that just made things worse, as Master Quadrant’s eyes went green, there was a crash in the wall and there he was, Principle Square Root. The legendary math teacher that was captured many years ago but somehow managed to escape and developed unatural super powers. Noone knows how but most people thought it was just a myth but there he was in vivid appearance. I don’t know how he did it but that man, or should I say superhuman saved my life.

...NWC Case Study Sangram Chavan (1110262) Sampath Kumar() Lata Manohar() University Canada West Professor: Ming Wang MBA-510 Operations Management 29th February 2012 1. Does it matter that Andy and his team cannot allocate all the time necessary to process a mortgage application to individual activities? Solution - For above question we have to know throughput rate and cycle time it takes to process each application and if they have enough staff to handle 76,250 application each year. Cycle time for process =Time available/ Number to be processed Time available =52*40*60 = 1, 24,800 minutes Application Processed =76,250. Therefore 124800/76250 = 1.64 seconds. If, Cycle Time = Work Content/ Number of People in the process Then, Number of people = work content / cycle time = 112(time allowed for activity) / 1.64(cycle time) = 69 people. So, nearly 69 people are required to process 76,250 applications, but according to the case currently total number of employee’s in data, underwriting, offer and completion stage are 160. So there is under utilisation of people in Andys current team. 2. Should process should be redesigned, and if so which option should be adopted? Solution- Andy and his team have three options that could be implemented to improve the current situation. Option one is doing noting option and continue with the process, as changes itself brings some challenges with it. As discussed in the case by implementing this option work can be done by 70 people...

Chilean Mine Collapse Info

...121-year-old San José copper–gold mine. The mine is located deep in the Atacama Desert, one of the driest and harshest regions on earth, about 45 kilometers (28 mi) north of the regional capital of Copiapó, in northern Chile, South America.[1] The buried men, who became known as "Los 33" ("The 33"), were trapped 700 meters (2,300 ft) underground and about 5 kilometers (3 mi) from the mine's entrance via spiraling underground service ramps. The mixed crew of experienced miners and technical support personnel, with less experience working underground, survived for a record 69 days deep underground before their rescue.[2][3] Previous geological instability at the old mine and a long record of safety violations for the mine's owners had resulted in a series of fines and accidents, including eight deaths, during the dozen years leading up to this accident. [4][5][6] As a result of the mine's notorious history, it was originally thought that the workers had probably not survived the collapse or would starve to death before they were found, if ever. The country of Chile had just endured the 2010 Chile earthquake and its associated tsunami less than six months before the accident. The Chilean people's strong empathy for the workers and their grief-stricken families and the nation's tremendous outpouring of public concern led the national government to take over the faltering search and rescue operation from the mine's financially strapped owners, privately held San Esteban Mining Company...

Business

...CHapter 15 supply chain management Teaching Notes It is important to emphasize that Supply Chain Management involves the entire range of production and distribution processes. Students need to understand the trade offs involved in supply chain function related to JIT, inventory management purchasing and delivery lead times and quality. Supply Chain Management requires a broad view of the entire flow from purchasing to final delivery to the customer. Supply Chain Management is becoming increasingly more important due to the following factors: 1. Implementation of JIT systems. 2. Emphasis in reduction in inventories. 3. Emphasis in reduced order cycles and reduced lead times. 4. Continuous and rapid change in products and product designs (shorter product life cycles). 5. Shorter product introduction and product development times. The importance of Supply Chain Management can not be underestimated because it ensures that the right materials are at the right place at the right time at a minimal cost and maximum quantity. In addition, supply chain management requires very careful coordination of activities between various business organizations on the chain. Integration of databases and sharing key pieces of information among the different business organizations on the supply chain not only provides timely and valuable information to companies on the supply chain, but also assists in improving the trust and the overall relationship between suppliers and their customers...

Simulation Gong Cha

...Simulation Simulation is a common management science technique. It is typically used to model random processes that are too complex to be solved with analytical formulas. One disadvantage of simulation is that there is no guarantee that you preformed enough trials so your conclusions are accurate. One begins a simulation by developing a mathematical statement of the problem. The model should be realistic yet solvable within the speed and storage constraints of the computer system being used. Input values for the model as well as probability estimates for the random variables must then be determined. By June 1980, McDonald’s has 5,951 restaurants worldwide. Hillybourne McDonald’s restaurant is located on a heavily commercialized business district. It was lined up with several restaurants, car dealer, gas station, college, public building and department store. It opens from 7.00 am until midnight, 363 days a year. Volume peaks time occurs on Friday during the lunch time. This store generates total volume of $1.1 million in 1980. The hillybourne McDonald’s listed all six standard sandwiches, separated with its type, there are Burger Patty (Hamburger, Cheese Burger, and Big Mac), Quarter Patty (Quarter pounder and Quarter pounder with cheese), and Fist Fillet THIS IS A BIG LAPSUS AHAHAAHAH. Demand analysis: To draw the demand analysis some assumptions have to be made. First, we supposed that the Hillybourne McDonald’s sells the same number of burger patties per week. Secondly, the percent of day’s sales for each open hour is proportional with the percent of burger patties sales for each open hour. For example the peak hourly demand for burger patties between 12:00 and 1:00 pm is 14,9% of total burger patties sales. The aim was to show how many burger patties were ordered during a Friday between 12:00 and 1:00 pm. The calculation table for identifying demand is shown on Exhibit 1. Step 1:...

...Progress in Planning 64 (2005) 69–175 www.elsevier.com/locate/pplann Global city making in Singapore: a real estate perspective Sun Sheng Han Department of Real Estate, School of Design and Environment, National University of Singapore, 4 Architecture Drive, Singapore, Singapore 117566 CHAPTER 1 Introduction ‘Global city’ is a notion popularly cited among planning academics and practitioners in describing some strategic places in the world economy. Pioneer researchers in this area define global cities as basing points of capital in a world economy (Friedmann, 1986: 71); production centres of specialized information services such as financial services, media services, educational and health services, and centres of tourism (Hall, 1998: 24); and centres for servicing and financing international trade, investment and headquarters operations (Sassen, 2004: 171). Summarizing those perspectives and recognizing the influence of a new economy, which can be characterized as informational, global and networked (Castells, 2000: 27), global cities can be seen as the urban nodes where globalization materializes so that they are (1) highly concentrated command points in the organization of the world economy; (2) key locations for finance and specialized service firms; (3) sites of production of innovation; (4) markets for the products and innovations produced (Sassen, 2001: 3 and 4). Taylor (2004) has argued that these perspectives involve understanding just the attributes of cities and...

Narragansett Yacht Corporation

...Narragansett Yacht Corporation 1.) What is the EOQ for each supplier? Supplier A: √(1500)(2)(1000)69 = 208.5 209 units Supplier B: √(1500)(2)(500)69 = 147.44 148 units 2.) EOQ Assumptions? First, we are assuming that all values are known and remain constant. This, at first, seems applicable, except that there is mention of sales becoming seasonal. We can, however, assume that the lead time will remain constant (with either of the supplier they choose). The next assumption is that the price remains constant. This we can apply up until the 2% discount also mentioned later. The next assumption is that the whole order is delivered at once, which can be applied. And finally, that we are only discussing one item, which I believe we can assume as it is not mentioned that the suppliers deal with anything other than winches. 3.) How many orders should be placed with Supplier A or Supplier B and when are their respective reorder points? Supplier A: 1500209 = 7.18 times Supplier B: 1500148 = 10.1 times Reorder Times: d x L d= 1500360 = 4.1667 Supplier A: 4.1667 x 10 = 41.7 units Supplier B: 4.1667 x 20 = 83.3 units 4.) Total Inventory Costs: Supplier A: (0.23)(300)(104.5) + 1000 (1500/209) = $14,387.50 Supplier B: (0.23)(300)(74) + 500 (1500/148) = $10,173.56 With the information developed so far, it would appear that Supplier B is the choice to make. 5.) Brief description of the company: McDonald’s is the leading global foodservice retailer with more than 34,000 local restaurants serving approximately 69 million people in 118 countries each day. More than 80% of McDonald’s restaurants worldwide are owned and operated by independent local men and women. b. Company History: Dick and Mac McDonald opened their eponymous burger stand in 1948 in San Bernardino, California. Under the guidance of Ray Kroc, a onetime milkshake-mixer salesman wowed by the restaurant's success, McDonald's franchises grew swiftly: by the end of the 1960s, there were more than 1,000 across the U.S. The first international franchise opened in 1967 in British Columbia, and was followed by another in Costa Rica later that year. From there, the chain spread steadily: over a six-month period in 1971, Golden Arches popped up on three new continents, as stores launched in Japan, Holland and a suburb of Sydney. A Brazilian McDonald's opened in 1979, bringing Ronald McDonald to South America for the first time. McDonald's reached its sixth (and, barring a sub-Arctic drive-thru, final) continent in 1992, with the opening of a restaurant in Casablanca, Morocco. Four years later, the company heralded the expansion into its 100th nation...

Organizational Structure

...There are various organizational structures in management; however the most predominant structure in the United States Navy would be the chain of command structure. The Navy uses two types of chain of command structures, which are the normal chain of command and the operation chain of command. Throughout this paper, I will compare and contrast the two different types of chain of command structures used by the Navy. I will also evaluate how organizational functions influence and determine the organizational structure. Additionally, I will explain how organizational design helps determine which structure best suits the organization’s needs. Normal Chain of Command Structure The normal chain of command is the organization’s structure used during normal peace time routine. This structure is different from the operation chain of command structure because it goes through the Vice President and Secretary of the Navy. This chain of command involves the President of the United States, the Vice President, Secretary of Defense, Secretary of the Navy, and the Chief of Naval Operation (CNO). After the CNO, this chain of command is divided into three categories: training commands, shore establishments, and operation force commands. Training commands provide Naval Academy, basic training, specific rating training for specific job, and general training. Rochlin, La Porte, and Roberts (2002) stated, “The Navy's training cycle is perforce dictated by the schedule of its ships, not...

Hence, the integration of various interconnected elements, which should be synchronized appropriately, is a necessity to meet the patients’ requirements. The performance of the blood supply chain is a function of different variables that are dependent of each other. Therefore, the main aim of the chain is the optimization of the overall supply chain by considering the dynamic behavior of the system. The purpose of this study is to develop a system dynamic simulation model for a complex blood supply chain in order to improve the average level of inventories. The developed model is based on three echelons with a centrality on a regional blood center. The performance of the supply chain network in the current condition is investigated and based on the objectives, 17 scenarios were experimented for improving the average level of inventories to avoid outdates...
