Dear Stuck in the Middle,
First off don’t beat yourself up about the problems in your relationship, we all go through them and I am sure it will get better. That being said, I do agree with you on this matter. The Never Ending Story was an amazing show. The actors in GPAC were pretty great. Moving away from my opinion now, I can give some details on what they play was really about and the meanings of each scene and characters. The plot pretty easy to follow and was actually very clever. This story used two levels of reality. This means that there were two different things going on at once, there was the boy reading the book and then there was the actually tale that was being told. Maybe that’s why your girlfriend had a hard time believing this was a good show, she maybe didn’t understand why there was just a random boy (who was played by an obvious girl) on the side of the stage. It seemed to be this modern fairy tale that seemed to somehow mash well with the reality today. This show spoke to the little scared child that is in all of us, it gave us hope and made us feel like the hero. The acting quality in GPAC could have been more professional, but it was a student production, so for what it was I feel it was pretty descent. We all make mistakes every now and then, it’s only natural. The costumes and the scenery were basic, but it was still somehow enchanting. The dresses and the costumes for the different characters were pretty nice to look at, the horse could have looked more like a horse but that’s what we have imaginations for. I really can’ t understands what your girlfriend didn’t like but I hope this will help her change her mind.
It will get better,
Dr. Theater

Pretty Little Liars

...If I were to be stuck on a deserted island in the middle of nowhere and I had to pick one book, one food item, and one famous person I would choose, carefully, to take the book called “Pretty Little Liars,” pasta alfredo with shrimp as my food item, and Misty May Treanor as my one famous person. I would bring the book called “Pretty Little Liars” because this book would always keep me on my toes when I read and would never get old. The book is pretty long so it would take awhile to finish, which is a good thing. “Pretty Little Liars” is a very popular T.V. show series and book series. This book is about four teenage girls searching for her dead friend Ali. The catch to this series is that Ali isn’t really dead. While they are trying to find...

A Letter Fromteddy

...A Letter from Teddy Mrs. Thompson had always considered herself a fair teacher, that is until Teddy Stoddard came into her life. There were no children in her fifth grade class that particular year who could be considered a teacher’s pet, but Teddy was most assuredly a child she did not like. For one thing, he was usually dirty, and he had this unpleasant, though unidentifiable odor about him. His hair hung over his eyes, and this was years before that was in any way fashionable. And he was slow. It got to the point where Mrs. Thompson actually took a certain delight in writing his F’s in bold, red letters at the top of his papers. He soon was hopelessly behind, and would certainly be a repeater. “Do him good,” she said to herself. But before completing the midyear report cards, Mrs. Thompson, like all of the other teachers, was required to review the students’ cumulative folders. When she came to Teddy’s, she was surprised by what she read. His first grade teacher had written, “Teddy is a bright child with a ready laugh. He does his work neatly and has good manners… he is a joy to be around.” His second grade teacher had added, “Teddy is an excellent student, well liked by his classmates, but he is troubled because his mother has a terminal illness and life at home must be a struggle.” And then his third grade teacher had written, “His mother’s death has been hard on him. He tries to do his best, but his father doesn’t show much interest and his home life...

Diary

...January, 5th Dear Diary, I am extremely disappointed. I’ve just come back from the hospital where I do volunteer work. It was my first day. There I have to play with children who suffer from cancer, AIDS or other diseases that are not infectious. There are both boys and girls and they are so cute, so playful, and so happy you wouldn’t say they are ill. When I entered the room, I first saw a boy, a man, actually, which was solitary. The others were really cheerful. I made myself comfortable and I went to talk to him. He was a little bit surprised by my movement, but he gave me a shy smile. Then I found out that his name is Max and that he is 21 years old. Nothing unusual. I couldn’t understand why he is so reserved. So I summoned up my courage and I asked him. He sighed and his words were: „I have cancer and I am homosexual. Now you know. You are free to turn your back on me, as everyone else did”. Even though I knew where I was, I couldn’t say a word for a few seconds. And not because I didn’t know what to do and how to react, but I had this image stuck in my head, with all his relatives and friends walking away without a word. “People hit me, they cursed me, swore me, and I couldn’t do anything. They were too much. In a group of 30 people, 29 were against me”. A tear ran down his cheek. I couldn’t hear the voices and the noise around me. It was just the two of us. I took his hand and he calmed down. Not a word was said anymore. I just can’t believe. Is this the world...

Appeal to Academic Withdrawel

...Dear Records, I am writing this letter requesting an appeal to the administrative withdraw for this term. Please reconsider withdrawing my student status. I have unfortunately not passed my xxxx course leaving me with zero units in my term. I take full responsibility for my current student status. In this term, creating and maintaining an effective time management plan has been a big problem for me. For the first half of the term, I struggled with adjusting to my new position at work. Previously, I held a part-time position. However, with the enactment of new health laws, my position as a part-time employee limited myself to work under 28 hours, which did not create a livable wage for me. My employer offered limited full-time spots to select employees. I was chosen as one, which was something I couldn’t refuse since it offered a higher wage and health insurance. As such, this was a huge adjustment, as I had to re-think how and when I would utilize my study time. Algebra has always been a struggle for me, or all math for that matter. It is a very intimidating subject for me. Nevertheless, I continued with the lesson plans, but truly felt as I was not retaining any of the information. The class load I accepted with having both Algebra and statistics gave me huge anxiety. After discussing this a little bit with my mentor, xxxx, we decided to focus on xxx instead. At first, I took the pre-assessment to see what areas I would need to focus on. I studied and read the...

...certain ways to make them feel good like the characters were in the two stories. Although Madame Loisel married a middle to low class clerk, she is very fond of expensive things. Her attention from her own life and marriage is lost in the thought of being wealthy. “She had no clothes, no jewels, nothing. And these were the only things she loved; she felt that she was made for them. She had longed so eagerly to charm, to be desired, to be wildly attractive and sought after” (Maupassant 330). Even though Madame Loisel’s husband can’t afford expensive things, she is fixated on looking high class and receiving attention for it. She wants so desperately to be accepted in the upper caste system, that she can’t be content or happy without that. Once Madame Loisel was invited to be with the rich at a party for one night, she went to the extreme. She muzzled four hundred francs from her husband for a new ball gown and borrowed a diamond necklace from a friend. She made sure she looked classy in order to be accepted by the others at the party all so she could feel good about herself. She danced madly, ecstatically, drunk with pleasure, with no thought for anything, in the triumph of her beauty, in the pride of her success, in a cloud of happiness made up of this universal homage and admiration, of the desires she had aroused, of the completeness of a victory so dear to her feminine heart. (Maupassant 332) Once Madame Loisel found her acknowledgement from the high class at the party...

...Cultural Differences Paper Courtney Early COM/360 05/20/2014 Jake Golden Cultural Differences Paper In the following paper the author will be discussing the movie A Family that Preys together stays together. Democratic Stability in Western Europe

...is best fit in terms of incentives. Moreover, it is in a state’s vested interest in terms of democracy to adhere to gradual democratic change, in contrast to a political overhaul such as we see in Germany, France, and Italy. In these cases, democracy simply cannot thrive as democracy, by nature, requires gradual social change and must overcome bargaining costs and stabilizing change. The evidence that stands today, tested by the outcomes of history, maintains exactly this: democratic transition must be slow and concessional, thus mitigating the exit costs and cost of unilateral decisions or actions in terms of bargaining. Moreover, the difference between a stable and unstable democracy does not depend on education, economics, nor the middle class; rather, the success and stability of a democracy is formulated vis-à-vis it’s institutional factors. (Magagna 2/18). As actors, states are indeed rational and thus adhere to cost-benefit analyses in terms of bargaining power. In this analysis of political instability, it is evident that the sources are as follows: the potential benefits of transition exceed the costs of bargaining, fragmented party support creates a democratic deficit, linkage between democracy and redistribution, and the integration of violence unravels the social peace democracy needs to survive. These aspects of the degradation of democracy and consequential transition are most observable in post-war Germany and the modern world. In 1918, Germany was a strong...

Economics

...Collin Woodruff Dr. Noble ENGL 1153 26 October 2015 Essay 4 Dear OBU Board of Trustees, College kids love to eat. They eat all throughout the day and sometimes even in the middle of the night. The cafeteria is not only the main place where people eat, but it is also a place to converse with friends. A lot of conversations between people in college tend to be in the cafeteria. It is also a place where students can do homework while they enjoy a meal. Some of the OBU faculty also have their meals here. The cafeteria should be a place of relaxation and happy memories. This cannot be fully achieved with the variety of food that OBU currently offers. In order to fix this problem, the OBU cooks need to prepare more kinds of food than they are now. Believe it or not, the kind of food that a college offers can make or break that school in the eyes of the students. With the tuition so high at OBU, the students should feel satisfied with the food that they can get with their meal plan. The only other places to eat on campus besides the cafeteria are the grill and Chick-fil-A, which does not even have a full menu. Many other colleges have better options for meals, and their price of tuition is nowhere close to OBU. An example of one such college is the University of Oklahoma. At OU, they have over 30 restaurants on campus including a Raising Cane’s, a Qdoba, a Taco Mayo, a Quiznos, and even a Chick-fil-A with a full menu just to name a few. OBU students should not be able to be burnt...

...The echo of the ear-splitting "BANG" carried on for a good minute...another loud, rippling sound sliced through the air. In the far corner I saw Sept, in his intense silence he somehow screamed with his whole body. His eyes wide with horror, his mouth rigid and open, his chalky face gaunt and immobile, and the fists clenched with blanched knuckles and the nails digging deeply into the palms of his hand. His crying was both ferocious and noisy. He blinked briny tears from his bloodshot eyes, his thick lashes stuck together in clumps as if he'd been swimming. The tears made wet tracks down his face and dripped from his wobbling chin. Clear watery snot streaked from his flaring nostrils down his red mottled skin to his open quivering lips. His hands open and closed, rhythmically clenching as if there could be some violent solution to his pain if only he could find...

The Letter

...YAQI NING Professor Sikorski International Writing Workshop The Letter Dear Jenny: It has been nearly a month since last time we met. How’s college life for you so far? Recently, I’ve encountered a maze. It was already late night. My room was so quiet after my roommates went to sleep. I, wide-wake, turned on my table lamp and opened the Allsen’s book “Mongol Cuisine”. The first page was about the office of ba’urchi, which translated as “cook” in the Mongolian. Staring at the strange letters that consisted the exotic, weird word-ba’urchi, I envisaged a bustle image of the cooks, wearing gowns that cut out from wolf skins, prepare food with horseflesh, mutton and cheese. I was also amazed by how they respect food, in distinctive and extreme ways, nothing like other cultures. The mutton is preserved by drying, freezing, jerking, and smoking. When they kill an animal by making an incision in the chest, they “squeezing the heart” and thereby “retaining the blood in the carcass for later use”. I definitely saw myself there also, standing right next to yurts on the grassland, watched local people making fire and rounding up the sheep or cattle, preserving food in a persistent and faithful way. But, I, strived to put myself inside the picture to understand why, still failed to get close. Eye ache, cervical bitter, I closed the book filled with disappointment and pushed it away. Lay inside the blanket with the mild moonlight through the window and curtain, I, felt so unsure...

Madison Music Festival Band Pitch

...Dear Managing Directors of the 2015-2016 Madison Music Festival: Over Thanksgiving break, I attended a show at a bar called "The Outpost" in Kent, which is located in northeastern Ohio. The concert I attended at this small and intimate venue was that of the heavy metal group known as Mushroomhead. All my senses were overloaded by this performance, and why I strongly feel that they are a band you must seriously take into consideration when finalizing the lineup for this summer’s music festival. I believe this band should play the music festival because of their phenomenal and very unique music style, their uplifting and high energy performance that seemed to have moved the crowd for the duration of their entire set, because playing music festivals is something this band has done in the past, and because the patrons appeared to have been very pleased to have paid the price of admission to their show. Where they would play in the confines of this festival is ultimately up to all of you, but I feel they have enough crowd appeal to headline the festival on a massive stage, or rock the house on a smaller stage. One place I would recommend not letting this band perform at is probably at the Terrace while people eat and drink, because their music and crowd interaction tends to gets pretty outrageous. Before going into more detail about their performance, I believe it is right to set the stage for this band, if you will, and give all of you a little bit of background information...
