Individuals make hundreds of decisions on a daily basis. Some may be easier or prove harder than others. For example, one may make a decision on what color socks to put on in the morning or what to have for dinner that night. Such decisions compared to deciding whether or not to change jobs may seem minuscule, but the steps in the decision-making process remain the same. In this paper I will examine the steps I faced when making the decision to further my education by going to college.

The idea of going back to school was brought up on me with the birth of my daughter. At that time I was not married, and new to living independently. I had a full-time benefited job, which proved some security, but due to my lack in education background, it unfortunately, did not present many opportunities for advancement. The mere thought of working full-time, having a new born, and going back to school full time was very daunting. By first identifying my problem, figuring out how to make all this work, I began my decision-making process.

I found I had two solution options; either enroll in an on-campus program, or enroll in online schooling. I knew that with an on-campus program I would need childcare while I was at work, as well as school. It would also cut back on my family time. The online courses were sounding better by the second. However, I still had to figure out how I would pay for my courses.

I then turned to family and friends to get their feedback and see if they had heard of any online programs that were better than others. A friend and coworker had been taking classes through the University of Phoenix (UOPX) for almost a year and loved it.
