There is cultural diversity of Kava is as diverse as our company. There is an ethnic mix of indigenous South Pacific tribes, African, Spanish, French, Asian (primarily Chinese), and since World War II, a sizable amount of Americans. Kava religious diversity is just as mixed as its ethnic diversity. Roughly 50% of the population is indigenous and the remainder is divided between Christian, Buddhist, and Islamic. Kava receives most of its revenue from the selling and manufacturing of petroleum, coffee, cocoa, spices, sugar, bananas, fishing, natural gas, and tourism. With Kava’s lacks a large work pool-50% of the population is under the age of 15, health issues (HIV/Aids and high risk for avian flu), the apparent likelihood of a natural disaster occurring (tidal waves/tsunami, typhoons/hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, and earthquakes just to mention a few), and non-natural disasters (petroleum spills, fires, and terrorism) are destabilizing the island’s infrastructure. I will be describing the organizational and environmental obstacles in a way that considers various key stakeholders that will be impacted by the decisions made in Kava. There will be applying critical thinking in the decision making process. The Marietta Memorial Hospital has asked Nik to be manager in Kava at the hospital the organization wants to build there. Nik will have to transfer there and stay until the hospital is built and good doctors are hired and employees are hired and everything is in operating condition. Of course Nik will have to keep an upper hand of the cost coming in and going out. Nik will have to keep costs at a minimal to keep the project in Kava functioning. There will be a minimal amount of staff until there is income coming in for the hospital and when it starts to show better profit then reevaluate the staffing issues for more employees. Kava was once a beautiful, sprawling island that attracted numerous tourists because of its balmy weather and indigenous tribes. Recently Kava has seen its fair share of disasters that has plagued the island. Our mission is to turn these disasters into opportunities, by establishing integrity among the people, loyalty and selfless service within this tiny island. We will begin in our Phase I process by looking at the organizational planning and climate, how the human resources will function, and finally we will delve into the business ethics. Once we have gathered all pertinent information we will combine each into one neat bundle in preparation for Phase II.
