Decisions
As people we are often faced with decisions in life, rather it be what we want to eat? Or what outfit to wear. I can definitely attest to this. My husband and I recently closed on our first home, which was rather a hectic process.
The first thing we had to do is Step 1: Identify and diagnosing the problem. For us that was more than one thing. We had to decide what side of town we wanted to stay on and of course the price we were willing to spend. I wanted to stay in the Stone Oak area due to the fact that I am familiar with that particular area. Since my husband is actually from here in San Antonio he was raised on the northeast side, so the Schertz area is more of a homecoming for him.
After identifying our differences we had to move on to the second step of decision making which is Step 2: Generate alternative- which links the problem to the development of alternative courses of action aimed at solving the problem. For us it was to somehow meet in the middle. So we took a piece of paper and divided it in two, labeled both sides “good” and “bad”. Once we weighed the good and bad for both areas we noticed that we got more “good” out of moving to the Schertz than we had with staying in the Stone Oak area i.e. we wouldn’t have to pay city taxes. We would have to deal with less traffic.
Now that we seen the pro’s and con’s of moving to either side it was time to make a decision. This is Step 3 of the decision making. During that process you are determining the value of the alternatives that were generated during step 2. My husband and I are both one to try and save a penny so it was only fitting that moving to Schertz would benefit us the most, since we wouldn’t have to pay city taxes.
Once we came to our decision which was to move to the Schertz area we then had to contact our realtor and have him arrange a lineup of houses for us to view. This would be a combination of Step 4 and step 5 in the decision making. During step 4 you will be weighing the consequences of your options and making your decision. During step 5 you are basically creating a backup plan for your initial decision. For us our backup plan was to have a least 5 top houses to choose from no more no less.
Overall we often use the decision making process we just don’t realize that we are using it, or the actual steps that involved. Either way the steps are important and vital especially when making life decisions such as purchasing a home.

...My Personal Ethical Decision This decision happened several years ago and is extremely embarrassing. It involves sacrificing my reputation in order to protect a family member. He knew that I was avid fan of motorcycles and h riding for long period of time. He asked if I could come by and take a look at the bike and test ride it since he was still learning. I agreed to do so. Upon taking the vehicle for a ride in the neighborhood I was pulled over. Then I was informed that the license plates on the vehicle where in fact stolen. While, I was completely unaware of this I chose not to mention my cousin’s name other then as the owner of the motorcycle as listed on the registration. I also choose to decline any further comment. I made this decision as I thought that I would be protecting my family. As a result of I was charged with possession of the stolen property. After the incident I spoke to my cousin. He assured me that come the court date he would appear with me to take reasonability. Has he had put the plates on his vehicle and did not inform me they where not his. ...Chapter 4 Problem Name: _____________________ Date: _____________________ Food and Beverage at Southwestern University Football Games Southwestern University (SWU), a large state college in Stephenville, Texas, 30 miles southwest of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, enrolls close to 20,000 students. The school is the dominant force in small city, with more students during fall and spring than permanent residents. A longtime football powerhouse, SWU is a member of the Big Eleven conference and is usually in the top 20 in college football ranking. To bolster its chance of reaching the elusive and long-desired number-one ranking, in 2002 SWU hired the legendary Bo Pitterno as its head coach. Although the number-one ranking remained out of reach, attendance at the five Saturday home games each year increased. Prior to Pitterno’s arrival, attendance generally averaged 25,000 – 29,000. Season ticket sales bumped up by 10,000 just with the announcement of the new coach’s arrival. Stephenville and SWU were ready to move to the big time. With the growth in attendance came more fame, the need for a bigger stadium, and more complaints about seating, parking, long lines, and concession stand prices. Southwestern University president, Dr. Marty Starr, was concerned not only about the cost of expanding the existing stadium versus building a new stadium, but also about the ancillary activities. He wanted to be sure that these various support activities generated revenue adequate to...

...Kathy Kudler fulfilled her dream of owning her business when she first opened Kudler Fine Foods in 1998. The company offers gourmet food items such as meat, cheese, baked goods, and wine. The success of the first location opened in La Jolla proved that there is a strong market of specialty food items. This paper will summarize the problem statement based on the issues as stated during the Weed Four discussion in the classroom. One of the main issues is Kathy’s role as a hands-on manager within all aspects of the business operations. All major decisions are also made by Kathy, including frequent visits to all three locations to oversee the purchasing arm of the business. This management style...

...Euthanasia Imagine if a close family member of yours was dying of cancer right now. Each breath was agonizing and no drug could change how much pain they were feeling. They just wanted something to stop the torture and suffering. This is what you would call would call Euthanasia. Euthanasia comes the Greek term meaning "good death witch refers to the practice of intentionally ending a life in order to relieve pain and suffering. Even though it is Illegal in all 50 states in the U.S I believe that we should have the right to end peoples suffering. There are many reasons why this problem today should be legal. I believe that the person should only have the right to Euthanasia if they are really suffering or the problem can’t be cured. You don’t want this person to be in torment day by day for months or even years with no hope. It should also be the patient’s decision to die. They shouldn’t be forced by anybody. It is there body and there life, if they think they had suffered enough then it should be there decision. It is a personal problem and the government shouldn’t have there say. I also think that keeping people alive who are dying cost thousands of dollars. We could be using this money to save others lives that actually have the ability to live. Euthanasia should also be legal because we do it to our pets all the time. We put them down if they are to old or have a sickness. Just like pets we should have...
