...its going to feel to get out of your work clothes and into a cozy pair of sweats. When all of a sudden, BOOM!! A deer jumps out in font of you. You hit it head on and total your car. Now let me ask you, are you for or against deer hunting? Had a hunter had a chance to get that deer earlier, you could have been home already and not have to worry about finding a new car. The greatest benefit to deer hunting is population control. We as humans, have pretty much eliminated the deer's natural predators. If we didn't hunt to keep their numbers down, then the deer population would grow uncontrollably. Eventually ending the species due to starvation and disease. So, in a way, we are actually saving a species by hunting them. And believe me when I say that it's better, and cheaper, to hit them with an arrow or a bullet than with your car. In addition to population control, hunting is also great exerciser. Not only for the body, but for the mind as well. It gets you reacquainted with the sights and sounds of the outdoors. Things that have all been but forgotten due to the luxury of city life. It gives guys a chance to get away and be guys. No wives or girlfriends around to tell them they can't cuss, spit, grunt, or scratch. Now I know these animal rights activists are saying that hunting and killing animals is cruel. They say that hunters are hunting just to go out and kill something. And I'm sure if you ask any one of them, they'd say that they have never killed...

...Hunting is here to stay whether you are for or against it. So why not produce extra animals, such as deer, to keep the populations up? Doris Lin wrote an article called “Hunting isn’t the Answer to Animal ‘Pests.” When, in fact, it’s not the entire answer but it is part of the solution. She states that if we just build more fences and stop planting foliage that the deer and bear like, that the animals will stop being “pests.” This is NOT the solution. She also makes the point that we are over producing these animals just so that people can go on with their normal hunting habits. Only her view of it all is that it’s wrong. In my opinion the fact that we are producing more animals is a very smart thing to do. Even though there are many...

...Did you know that many states boost the deer population for hunting season? 10.9 million deer are killed a year which makes it the biggest portion of hunting. Only 7.1 million small game and migratory birds are hunted a year. Do the advantages of hunting outweigh the many disadvantages? I believe that despite its many advantages the downsides such as not being a valid source of food, promoting killing for pleasure, and not validly fighting overpopulation do not outweigh the advantages and it should be illegal. First hunting may feed some families, and may be a temporary source of food. Nobody denies that farmers raise cattle for meat so you have no need to kill more than what is required. Most game that is killed is for sport not...

...more enthusiastic about that day then I was until I realize “today is deer hunting day!” I suddenly jump for joy until my dad tells me to be quieter because everyone is asleep. Whoops… I think to myself as I start layering up on clothes. My dad warned me yesterday that it would be cold which I realized but didn't know until I stepped outside. Once I get back in the house I grab a package of fruit snacks and powerade and head to the truck. On the way there I ask, “do you think were going to get a deer?” He replies “ I hope so.” Then that gets me thinking, I wonder if...

...morning my grandpa and I were getting everything ready to go deer hunting. I had to get extra ready because since I am a diabetic I have to get all my emergency gear ready just incase I went into diabetic shock or passed out from low or high blood sugar. After we both got everything ready we waited for my senile uncle and my other uncle to come with us. It took them about two hours to get their equipment ready and we left around 2:00 in the afternoon. While we were on the way out we were seeing big bucks running around chasing the doe’s because it was in the middle of rutting season so the bucks were acting stupid. When we got out there there was nothing out in the field where we set up so we kept going in. There was one buck, but he was small that we scared over the hill, but it wasn’t a problem because he will come back. We waited about four hours later for deer to start coming back into where we were at and while we were waiting I had jacked a shell in the barrel and put the gun on safety. Everybody except me were sitting in the truck and I was outside right next to the truck, I looked at my phone and the time said 6:00 PM so right then and there I knew it was...

...My first deer hunt. I was a young man about 13 years old when I got the opportunity to go deer hunting for the first time. I remember it even though it was long time ago. I remember getting up really early due to the long ride to place where we was going to hunt. It took us approximately an hour to get to our destination. Once we arrived I remember thinking, that we was in the middle of nowhere and I hoped we did not get lost. As a young man you automatically think that you are gonna kill a deer and go home in no time at all. I was bad wrong the first day we did not see a deer at all. I was disappointed like any young person would be. As we all have been young and know that after an hour of sitting outside in the cold, you either are ready...

...9/18/17 This weekend I went deer hunting with my uncle. On Saturday we woke up at four fifteen in the morning and left to go deer hunting. We walked to our spot and sat down next to the tree that worked best to get rid of our scent with the wind. After sitting for about a half an hour I saw a doe pop up and I told my uncle. When he went to look at the doe he spotted another one. The doe my uncle spotted snorted and both of our deer jolted away into the corn. We went again on Sunday night, it was my uncle Chris, my uncle's friend Matt, his son Jake, and I. That night we hadn't been sitting for ten minutes before I turned around and there was a 4-point buck walking in on the same trail my uncle and I walked to our spot on. It was coming down...

...poor will get poorer.” “Deer hunting should be banned because it is an infringement on animal rights.” “War can never be justified.” The first issue is that the reality of business is that the rich will get rich and the poor will get poorer.” The Christian religion feels that God gives you gifts and bless you with money and if God blesses you with money you are commended to help the poor and widows. “Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you.” (Matthew 5; 42). This verse for Matthew tells us that we need to help people no matter if God has blessed us with riches. The Muslim faith believes that Allah has blessed some above others with the gifts of riches. "And Allah hath favored some of you above others in provision."(An-Nahl: 71)....

...Florianne At some point in life everyone breaks away from one another. When someone leaves you behind it can create emptiness and loneliness and it will always be easier for some than for others to handle the feelings that can occur. On the surface Florianne is about a father, Henry, being upset because his daughter, Florianne, is missing. He worries that someone has taken his daughter. Throughout the story he tries to find her and is constantly suspecting everyone around him to have kidnapped her (p.40, l.21). The narrator is being worried about his daughter and blames his surroundings for the loss. In the ending of the story the father recollects the memories of the missing daughter’s mother. ...evening, I found myself sitting twenty feet up a tree in my hunting stand. I had my PSE spider bow in my hand with an Easton arrow knocked and ready to rock. I was only fourteen years old. My dad was sitting in the tree next to me. There was no sign of deer yet we were just listening to the wind blowing through the trees, and the squirrels rustling below. They were fidgeting around with some of the apples I had put out for the deer. One of the squirrels picked up an apple attempted to climb a tree with it and fell to the ground. I chuckled a little bit. I was focused on the squirrels when my dad leaned over and said “Quit fooling around there is a deer, look to the left”. I glanced left and froze as I stared right at a huge doe. She was walking down the trail right towards me.my heart started to pound faster and faster with every nearing step. I raised my bow when she was about thirty yards away. My heart was pounding. I drew back my bow and took aim. I paused for a second and closed my eyes to take a deep breath and think. “Mitch, wake up your dad is home” my mom said. I raced out the door in my pajamas. I was about six at the time. Sure enough the big green F150 pulled in the driveway, my dad gets out and drops open the tailgate. Lying in the bed was a huge doe. My dad picked me up and set me next to the deer. My mom came out and took a picture of us with his deer. “Dad when is it going to me my turn to go hunting” I said. “Son, when you grow up, I promise” he replied. Age...

...Alexandra Rike Judith Celentano DATE \@ "MMMM d, y" January 28, 2015 Gaining Faith The bell is close to ringing and releasing me for the rest of the day from the most hated place on earth…school. However, today, I wouldn’t mind staying over a few extra minutes to avoid the intense quiz session that is about to take place in my Memi’s car. Last night, I heard my mom on the phone with my Memi telling her all about my new boyfriend, and I’m sure she is just chomping at the bit to know everything about him. I already know what her first question is going to be. “Does he have Jesus in his heart?” I never understood why that was such a big deal to her until now. Throughout my life, my Memi was constantly lecturing my parents for not taking me to church as much as they should, and for not teaching me all about the Bible at a young age. I never understood why she was so obsessed and driven to get me interested in church. I always thought that I would start going to church once I felt like I knew what everyone was talking about, once I could fully understand everything and the hidden meanings. I didn’t think there was a reason for me to go to church until I was older. However, I think that when something major happens and leaves an impact on your life, there is one clear place to run to…God. Things changed for me. Now, I desperately want the bell to ring so that I can go take care of my Memi. I want to be there for her the way she was always there for me, making me smarter...
