Friendship. A relationship of mutual affection between two or more people. By the official definition that is correct, but friendship goes beyond the literal meaning given by dictionaries. There are multiple levels of friendship. For example you have your friends that you only see at school, friends you hang out with every weekend, friends you only talk to through social media, and your best friend that you think you couldn’t live without knowing. Luckily for me, I have all four. Even though I have multiple friends that fall under these categories, I’d like to talk about four of my friends that are very special to me. My friend Aubrey and I have been good friends since the eighth grade when no one else wanted to sit beside us in first period science. Ever since then, I’ve told her all of my secrets, and I’m able to call her house my home. When I stay with her I usually first say hi to her mom and step dad that I consider my second parents. We then like to hang out outside, watch Netflix, and make plans for the night that usually include driving for what seems like hours. Somewhere in between our adventures we usually like to go to Whataburger around two in the morning to get our grub on. This is also where many of our other friends like to hang out. I met Mary my seventh grade year, and at the time I only really had one friend (which wasn’t a very good friend I might add). She was really tall and I had figured out she played flute in the band. I was surprised because most people who were in band didn’t seem like the coolest people at the time. She had decided to sit with the people that I sit with at lunch and myself, and she pulled all of us closer. We had the same music taste, both had blogs, and just really got along very easily. I had finally had a good friend in middle school, and I never really knew what it felt like having a good friend that didn’t talk about me or even pretend she liked me for 8 years because she felt bad since I had no other friends. Sharing laughs and even hanging out outside of school was the best. I was scared that I’d never find a friend like her, until another girl moved into town named Dani. She lived beside Mary and was just as cool and even played flute in the band like Mary! As I learned I was moving to Beckville, Mary had found out she was moving to Dallas and the next year, Dani moved to Grapeland. Three best friends separated within a very short two years. We all still talk and see how each other is doing, and every summer Mary comes down for a week and stays with me. She’s one of my very best friends that has made a difference in my life, helped me laugh through tough times, and help me become who I am
