Delta Airlines 1950 And 2010 Comparison

Delta airlines has been around for quite some time and has always been advertising the same basic aspects of their company, which are travel and that they provide exceptional service in the sky. Delta airlines has always had ads circling to advertise their company to entice travelers to fly with them as oppose to other large carriers. The ad from 1950 and the ad from 2010 are both similar in simple ways but very different in other ways.

The delta airlines ad from 1950 and 2010 are similar in simply the purpose but very different in the appearance. The 1950 ad shows two flight attendants and two pilots in a cartoon like colorful-ad with a simple plane and country like background, while the 2010 ad shows a huge Boeing 747 in the right side with a "box of text" that basically says that delta airlines is building a better airline not just a bigger one will basically that. The days where much more simply in the 1950's with ads that showed no frills and glamorous aspects, but today in 2010 the ad has to appeal to the generation that is flying so therefore the ad appears much different in layout and color scheme. …show more content…
You don’t really have to think about what it is and what its saying. It’s saying in big bold letters “Fly Delta Airlines”. It shows 5 flight crew dressed in typical attire of flight attendants and pilots in the 50’s. This ad offers a lot of color and is warm and inviting, in the sense that it makes you want to fly on delta airlines. The plane is older and so is the word font and word choice, it isn’t as “sophisticated” as the ad

It has been confronted with the marked decline in international tourism in the aftermath of the September 2001 terrorist attacks in the US and, more recently traffic loss attributable to war in Iraq and severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) outbreaks in part of Asia and Canada.
