Q3 - OE_Strengths
What do you see as Delta’s particular strengths?
"Operational reliability. Favorable employee relations. Disciplined capital allocation."
Q4 - OE_Weaknesses
What do you see as Delta’s particular weaknesses?
"Not specific to Delta, but exposure to international markets. Non-US markets. Delta has a significant international franchise and from time to time there is overcapacity, which Delta doesn't control. You're subject to fluctuations in economic growth in some of these international markets. Exposure to international capacity trends and at times economic weakness."
Q6 - OE_StrategyElements
Based on communications from Delta, what are the main elements of management’s business strategy?
"Capacity discipline would be one. Very disciplined growth profile. Disciplined capital allocation. They're certainly trying to project or communicate sustainability with respect to their results."
Q7 …show more content…
The two things, there are probably three things that investors may be doubting a bit about Delta. One was saying one thing on capacity but doing another, and they've made good process there with their disciplined commitment to keep the business capped at 1%. The other concern that they're well aware of is this idea that they're persistently optimistic with their guidance, and they had to guide down a lot over the last two years. They're addressing that with this slower growth plan, but that's still a concern that's out there. And then lastly is this feeling among investors that the capex plan, the investment plan for the company, has had an upward bias and continues to creep higher. And on points one and two, they've made progress. They're addressing the concerns that they've identified. On point three, it's important to highlight to them that as investors have met with the CFO over the years that the capex, the investment level has crept higher and higher and higher. And that is an investor

It was a memorable event because there was a cross match of Cultures and ideas, owing to the fact that the groom was not a Nigerian, compared to the bride who was. The event was attended by the family of the groom, who came all the way from England. The parents of the groom had to be dressed in the usual traditional attire, fit for the traditional rites, though It was a struggle to have the head gear of the grooms mother in place because it kept going off at intervals owing to the size of her head. After the traditional rites (payment of dowry) the bride was unveiled as the tradition demands, prayers were said by the oldest man in the bride’s family and it was all merriment and dance. The grand reception was held in a hall(Orchid Hotel) in Asaba and I had the opportunity to witness an opulent and electrifying decoration by one of the best Event Planners from Abuja Nigeria(Red Diamond Events) There was so much class and elegance, the hall was a masterpiece and I felt and imagined...

Broadly identify the inputs for strategy formulation. What Is Strategic Management? As you already know, the P-O-L-C framework starts with “planning.” You might also know that planning is related to, but not synonymous with, strategic management. Strategic management reflects what a firm is doing to achieve its mission and vision, as seen by its achievement of specific goals and objectives.A more formal definition tells us that the strategic management process “is the process by which a firm manages the formulation and implementation of its strategy.”[196] The strategic management process is “the coordinated means by which an organization achieves its goals and objectives.”[197] Others have described strategy as the pattern of resource allocation choices and organizational arrangements that result from managerial decision making.[198] Planning and strategy formulation sometimes called business planning, or strategic planning, have much in common, since formulation helps determine what the firm should do. Strategy implementation tells managers how they should go about putting the desired strategy into action. The concept of strategy is relevant to all types of organizations, from large, public companies like GE, to religious organizations, to political parties.Strategic Management...
