demonstrative communication.
Demonstrative communication includes nonverbal unwritten communication. “Nonverbal communication can be defined as all types of communication that don’t involve the exchange of words”(Rogers & Steinfatt, 1999, p. 67) such as gestures, posture, facial expressions, and eye contact. Demonstrative communication can add believability to ones message if used properly when sending a message or can discredit a message and create confusion. 60 effective and ineffective demonstrative communication
Demonstrative communication can be effective if it is used to reinforce the message one is trying to send. “A study taken found that 55 percent of the meaning people send is contained in facial expression” (Mehrabian & Weiner, 1967). For example, if a person is walking into an office for an interview walking tall, smiling, and having a firm handshake will make a good impression without even saying a work. If the next interviewee had bad posture, did not smile, and rolled their eyes the whole interview it is less likely they would get the job because of the message they are sending out using their body. 107
Eye contact can increase trust and sincerity when communicating a message. Eye contact is important for both the sender and the receiver of a message. For example, if a person cannot make a party and they have to tell their friend they cannot make it then looking them in the eye and saying sorry will be far more sincere than looking away and avoiding eye contact. In the same respect if someone is listening to someone talk and is looking away and not returning eye contact then the sender is going to feel they are being ignored and not respected. 100 positive and negative Communication
Some positive nonverbal communications that can be practiced as a receiver are nodding your head when

Also what legal aspects did management face during this dilemma and what legalities governed or should have governed the decision. First and foremost discipline is one of the major issues faced by managers regarding ethics, morals, and values. Managers must conduct themselves with the utmost diplomacy when dealing with disciplinary actions toward employees. Respect is a two way street and must be adhered to by both management and employees. Nothing is worst than a manager who says one thing but their actions tell a whole other story. Hypocritical managers lose respect from their employees. Managers who have certain attributes like honesty, integrity, and trust are taken more seriously when it comes to disciplinary actions. When dealing with discipline managers should also adhere to acceptable moral and ethical values of our society. Unfortunately not all managers in leadership positions exhibit the same value system of higher standards. Personally let’s go on the...

...cross the line to become deceitful?” (Humphreys, 2009) Which business risk represents the greatest threat to shareholder value: Natural disasters? Product defects? Piracy? Patent infringement? Lack of ethical boundaries? (Rudin, A. 2010) The World-Class Bull case study explores the ethical boundaries and challenges that a company will face when it is discovered that one of their top salesman, Chris Knox, takes on the challenge to land a big account. Using the CEO’s personal love of livestock the salesman develops a person relationship and eventually closes the sale. Ethical issues arise when the tactics used by the salesman are revealed in an email sent by the VP of sales, Jeremy Silva, celebrating the success of landing the account. This paper explores and describes how to identify risk factors for ethics problems, and how once identified determining steps to mitigate that risk. Employee actions should be conducted with honesty, full disclosure and the upholding of confidentiality. While the actions of Chris Knox in the World-Class Bull Case may be deemed to have crossed the line the mitigation of his actions should have been handled differently. The responsibility of this “could have crossed the line” behavior lies with management, specifically the sales manager and secondarily the organizations lack of proper ethics training. Building relationships and friendships with potential and current customers is all part of being a salesman. The question in this case is whether...

The benefits are faster chart coding, which means faster payment for services to savings in personnel, transcription and paper costs; and efficiency gains that allowed providers to see more patients. While many hospitals are turning to EMR’s like McKesson, monitoring the health and flow of these systems is also a crucial task. Often healthcare organizations do not consider the importance of continuous real-time data captures as a tool to analyze system performance until after the EMR is implemented. This gives Dell Services many...
